Jaydin Eierman had way more control in his 2021 match vs Kizhan Clarke and they ruled no takedown then. Kinda wild to me

Heres the thing, maybe maybe not...but yianni for some reason always find a way to win...I dont know why but he does...lets say that he didnt score that two...I wouldnt be surprised if he immediately scored to a few seconds later, it's weird watch his matches he just finds a way...its not tangible but he has a lot of matches that he "should" have lost...I'm not saying it was the right call, and im.not say it's fair but I think some people are.just born winners and figure it out somehow...

Now that i look at it yianni second take down he has control long enough to have two and he had McKenna in a danger zone near his back

Did it he judges ever actually overturn their original ruling. I haven’t been watching wrestling that long but I have been being watching matches since I started watching and I’ve seen any challenges and not once has the ref been like “I was wrong” and awarded points.

That second takedown was technically a take down cause desanto does that all the time and tbh it was almost a near fall

This was Mckennas match to win man he needed to belly out more and earlier in those last seconds of regulation he let him do a jr high johny step over after laying lazily on his side on his hip for a few very avoidable. Was a bad call for the step over earlier where he shoulda had two and two swipes.

Great showing by both men. Yanni seems to at times lose points at rulings when the call escapes me...still good fortune later shined on him last period of this match which in turn had everything all evened out in the end ...and the last take down called the true victor correctly.

The actual name is a belly tip (freestyle move normally), but then he put it in sort of a grape-vine with his leg, but used his leg like it was a cement-job to turn over McKenna.

To this day I can’t get over how McKenna got hosed on that takedown call …just awful .

McKenna felt he could've stalemated until the clock ran out. If he would've kept wrestling he would've won. If he goes to a double when he had that single at the end of regulation, it's over.

The step-over is a very common move and hard to tell where exactly it goes from neutral to take down but I do agree with the scoring

This refereeing is better than UFC. Dana gotta listen to Luke Thomas's idea.

I really like Yianni but that takedown call was terrible.. I thought the one they denied was more legit than the one they counted at the end. Being in what appears to be better position isnt enough is it? Dont you have to have control. At no point during that last takedown did I feel Yianni had control. In the refs favor it must be really hard to ref matches with Yianni. It just doesnt always seem that clear cut.

You need control past reaction time. Arm in plus constantly moving through the position equals no takedown. At no time was there control

The only reason he got taken down in the 3rd was because he got called for stalling and he started shooting to hold on, and you don’t do that with Diakomihalis

I agree. Do you always think them confirming the 2 in the 3rd possibly had a little bit to do with the fact that it wasn’t a match deciding call? That them confirming the 2 and 1 for the escape sent it into overtime?

No 2 at the end of the third. There's no way with that underhook that should've been 2.

It was actually the 3rd or 4th rip that day Cornell over OSU. Myles Martin was also robbed as Max Dean shined the mat with his belly for 6 minutes. Refs hate OSU football and dare to dream their actions wont show. Hell, explain Sasso vs O'Connor. Ryan has no recourse but tweets way late, way short.

Yianni is a great wrestler but he isn’t as good as people think. At least not yet. It showed at World teams and Olympic trials. Not world class yet. And if he would have wrestled 141 and not that shit 149 weight class last year Nick Lee would have been more than he could’ve handled
