Tool is like the only band that even at your one-millionth listen of a song, you will restart the song when you realize that you've been distracted and not paying enough attention.

Facts. Lateralus and 10,000 Days are the best albums for me. And I was introduced to Tool with Aenima/Undertow. They only get better as you go. Fear Inoculum, however, didn't quite reach the status of their other albums (for me). But I'll never forget how old I was and where I was when I encountered Lateralus. Def a masterpiece.

I was completely overwhelmed y something someone told me. I couldn’t sleep. I couldn’t focus at work. This went on for a solid month. It’s all I could think about and it didn’t seem to be lessening. One day I zoned out on Reflection and the healing really began. I still think about it but it’s not nearly what it was.

I saw them in 2001 in Raleigh NC. They ended the first set with Disposition/Reflection, and let that repeating outro ostinato slowly slow down it's tempo for the entire intermission. Then they resumed the show with Triad. And I've never experiment with hallucinogens, but throughout both Tool shows I've attended I kinda wished that I had them. They're playing just across the state line in TN in a few weeks, but I can't swing it this time around. But they've skipped most of the southern U.S. on their current tour dates. I'm hoping that they'll announce shows for the rest of the county for 2024. I have a good Phishhead friend who's agreed to go to a show next time they come to central NC.

The Holy Trinity isn’t just a journey & an experience, it’s actually a transformation of self improvement, to kill your own ego, to become a better human. The crazy & insane part of this stage of Tool, is it that somehow, they got better with 10,000 Days & Fear Inoculum albums. 🤘🏻🌀

Tool is the most accessible drug ever created. Reflection was for a long time my number 1 Tool song, later Fear Inoculum came and since then Descending and Culling Voices have been oscillating back and forth for my number 1 song. Definitely check out Culling voices, one of the most overlooked and underrated song from their catalogue.

Real talk… as a recovering alcoholic, music takes me away from the pull to “just have one”. Tool is the best at making the time pass away, in the best way possible. Incredible musically, creatively, lyrically… well, you know. Anytime not thinking about the temptation is precious. Rock on, people🤘🏻If you are in recovery, instead of using, listen to your favorite album, close your eyes. Pass the time.

Tool has been my favorite band since I was 14 (turning 40 this year) I am seeing them on October 11th for the 13th time. When I was young they had General Admission and we could mosh and move about, but they started enforcing seated sections everywhere. I really didn't like it at first, but the show is the music AND the stage lighting and visuals. It really is mesmerizing and needs the audience to be able to enjoy it from relative safety. Adam Jones is a visual artist and magnificent at creating the stage visual effects. Prior to being the Guitarist for the greatest band in the world he was involved with special effects in some of the best movies in the world (Terminator 2, Jurassic Park for example). He really took a risk leaving the industry to pursue music, and I for one am thrilled that he did!

Personally, I think it’s their best, right down to the last millisecond on that outro. The outro tie’s the song up perfectly, & put’s a ribbon on it. Sometimes small detail’s don’t matter too much in music, but in this case, it does, and it’s used to perfection.

Agreed, Reflection is my favourite Tool song and imo the best one. So eerie, mysterious and hypnotic the instrumental is, slowly building turning into an epic explosion of sincereity towards the last cpl mins of the song. Not to mention the mind blowingly creative and deep lyrics. Just the definition of a masterpiece, 4 individuals truly at the top of their respective crafts.

Timeless masterpiece, in all of music and history. The reason why Tool can play what sounds like the same thing over and over for many minutes and still fully capture your interest, is because its only the same on the surface, but the undercurrents are constantly evolving and creating subtle disruptions in the pattern.

you can find bootleg videos of Tool playing Triad live. They save it for the end of the show, and they always have some extra people onstage with them, usually members of the opening band, to take it up a notch and make it a drumming ritual. Highly recommend the versions they performed with the drummer of the band Meshuggah back in the early 2000s.

Homework assignment. Next time there's a full moon.... sit in your most favorite, peaceful outdoor space with these three songs in your earbuds...just absorb the vibes. Sometimes I'm mostly in the dark with just my solar lighting in my yard... Which I think is ironic since it had to absorb the sun's energy and reflected back to me at night. Or sometimes I light a fire in the fire pit and have the rain wall trickling to complete my earthly elements.

Love it! Personally, of the 3, I've loved Disposition the most over time, theres something about the vocal melodies in that track that really get me. (The mention part, so good man)

Alright. I have been watching your reaction videos from TOOL for a few days. I honestly dont know how many times I've seen them. Quite a few now. Going back to the early/mid 90s. Please, go see them live if you have the chance. I don't comment, like or subscribe too much but you earned it.

Imho the Holy Trinity make some references with Bob Frissell's Nothing in this book is true... So there was a chapter, Rebirth i think, where were explained the procedure of rebirthing in ancient Egypt. Hell of an experience i tell you. But tribal and kinda arabic sound make me believe the Holy Trinity was made as a soundtrack to that egyptian ritual. Bob Frissell had huge influence on Tool's music. All "space" sounds in Lateralus album came from rebirthing. Basically in that book even one chapter named Your Body is light and You are immortal (Parabola - we are eternal, all this pain is an illusion). Repeat - i see it this way. Great reaction!
