That’s a fantastic find! It’s amazing what you can find at garage sales for really cheap. I found a Ronson Touch-Tip table lighter at a garage sale for $5 a few years back. It’s an art deco style lighter. Really neat looking. Made in Newark, NJ and from the research I’ve done, it seems that it was manufactured in the early to mid 1940’s.

I have also been lucky in my life to have been able to spot rare things at yard sales and have got some unbelievable things you would not believe and if it was not for need of money I would have kept a few things I so regret selling. I have never found a beautiful lighter but being a collector of tobacco baseball cards and all things that are vintage cigar or tobacco I have found an Origional 1913 joe Jackson card in a beautiful antique humidor table with 2 ashtrays that hang from the side that’s lined with cooler and still shines bright. When I flipped it over to check the makers mark I was very surprised to find it was made in Springfield Vermont because I’m a vermonter and is around 100 years old give it take a few years. It was this humidor I also found a 14k white gold Esemco pocket knife which I did keep and will pass down. Believe it or not in the same humidor which I also still have and use daily I found in the bottom under all the stuff packed in it a 1969 gmt faded Pepsi besil rolex ! I didn’t know much about watches but knew what a rolex was but didn’t know just how valuable they were. It was only after talking to my good friend threw texting messages that I mentioned I found a rolex which he chuckled and said “yeah you didn’t find a rolex man, sorry” Then I looked into it and checked the numbers in In the side of the watch and realized I truly found one and sent him the pics and he’s was blown away. I sadly sold it for $10,000 on eBay. Before you say it was to low a price know that it was missing the 18k white gold band which at the time I could only find one band on eBay and it was min $5000 before recent gold prices went up to all time highs. I had my nephew Austin sell it for me so he could make some cash and gave him 10% of what he sold it for to go towards collage spending money which I do not regret. The watch was a gmt faded Pepsi t/25 Swiss but it did not have the line under the word Swiss which was an even more rare watch and it was near flawless in condition. I got the humidor at a seasonal flea market in Waterbury Vermont just outside Stowe Vermont. I paid $42 for the humidor and all inside it. Best find ever!

I have a Gatsby model Linge 2 that I found at the Salvation Army thrift store. It's missing a screw on the bottom, is it worth anything ?
I have a 80s ligne 2 in great shape, bought for 55 bucks, repaired by myself because it was leaking. The best lighter in my small collection for sure !
Luxury at expense. Fineness at cost. The way those pieces and the whole scene are lit up is pleasing.
Just purchased one yesterday, what a timing this video is.
Review brah grew up?
The ST Duponts are absolutely gorgeous, but even if I hit the lottery, I could *never* justify spending that much money on a lighter.
I'm a big fan of S.T. Dupont. They make incredibly good lighters and at least in the past they also offered great cufflinks. Over the years I accumulated quite a few of their lighters and cufflinks but the first one is always special. I bought my first STD lighter when I was on my relocation trip to Shanghai back in 2008 and a few months later picked up my first STD cufflinks in Shanghai. They are still the most used from my collections. But that doesn't prevent me from thinking about the platinum coated Ligne D which I discovered today.
These lighters are truly special. S.T. Dupont is such an incredible brand!
Used one of these on the moon, perfect pitch and fire. Would most definitely suggest these for stocking stuffers.
I really like that jacket! Beautiful cloth.
The Blue Flame model is really nice, it is a soft blue flame and does not cook your cigar like a typical jet. It burns at a much lower temperature and is usable outside where the soft flame is not usable. I highly recommend that model since I have one and do enjoy it.

The dust lighter is amazing 🌌🔥
Had one of the 'Ligne 2' lighters. Very well made and nice to use. My main gripes with it were that it was terrible in wind and the filler was non-standard - the adapter for using ordinary (non Dupont) butane leaked like a sieve.

So the average condition untested rollagas goes for around $115 but mint condition, serviced and working, and rare editions go for $250 and even way more up! I buy and sell vintage lighters. I love fixing them back up to normal.

Awesome! I need one of these to light my doobies😂
Love my Slim 7!
Great video Kirby. The lighters are gorgeous! I would like to see a video on shavers in the future 😊. Great bit about the different butane fill tanks. I had no idea there were different styles. I thought they were all the same lol
I own a Le Grande. It is anything but a good choice for outdoor use. The jet flame is very sensitive to moving air and will be blown out by even a gentle breeze.
HI Mr Allison - I've got a quick question, I recently bought a 150th LE ST Dupont lighter - the Ligne 2 Golden Hour, the one plated in 3-gold metals and featuring a double-yellow flame. The instructions manual says not to keep it "lit" for more than 10 seconds, however, this is not practical at all when lighting a cigar. Even in your recent video with Eddie Sahakian he can be seen keeping the lighter lit for well over 40-50 seconds. Appreciate your response, thank you good Sir! Kind Regards, M. de Silva.
I am lucky to have a st dupont line 2 stardust from the 70s in slightly rose gold. the difference with this new st dupont stardust is that ALL faces and sides are coated with lacquer and gold dust, except for the underside of course. I find it a pity that it no longer offers any model with lacquer on the 2 sides, sides, and above. But they still a piece of art, love them ❤
I have a Dupont Windsor , Dupont slim, and recently bought the Dupont Cohiba 55 version cos I own the ciagr cutter of it.
I also like Dunhill lighters. I think they're better built actually.
I found one at an estate sale. I put it on eBay, and bids went to $1,642.48. I paid $5.
Great video ❗💯👍
I just ordered a Slim 7 in brushed "gold". I look forward to receiving it, but my dream lighter is a gold Le Grand.
A grand isn't "expensive"!? Yes, yes it is!!!
I like my bic lighters and opinel no. 8 for lighting and cutting cigars. Nice n cheap
I believe that the first edition of the le grande did not have the cling noise which is why they came out with the le grande cling. I am looking at getting one of those next. This year I got my first St dupont. It was a line 2 in black laquer and palladium. I got a matching stand/cutter and a line d fountain pen. That pen is up there with my montblancs but was only about $400.
I came upon a vintage ligne 1 lighter. Complete with papers and box. I think it's gold. It's missing an o-ring though. I'd love to show it to you and maybe you can know how much it's worth?
I'm 37 with 118$ to my name.. why am I watching this man and smoking an opus x
you should do a video about vintage lighters in general
Hi, what do I save in ordering from yourself or direct to STP I’m in the Uk, thanks
Cant wait for Cuba videos and Hunters and Frankau
I think there a screw pin inside the lighter when open. You can tune the'cling'.... not sure on the newer ones. Mine has it. Its an 80s Dupont....
Sadly, my Ligne 2 which was brand new last year came with a gas leak that I’ve only recently noticed. Plus it never made the right “ping!” noise. DuPont are going to repair it, but it’s going to take 8-12 weeks, starting from June. Well worth it though. Beautiful lighter. Edit: they fixed the gas leak, but the ping is still dull 😕
@rafaeltorre1643
Жыл бұрын
This is extremely common and you have to assume it will leak and need serving to be used. Thats why they are sold as is untested. Because just like anything else, it needs to be serviced every so many years. They practically all leak from one or more places. But if you know what you are doing, it is very easy to replace the o-rings.
Does anyone have an opinion of the le Grande cling? I want to get one but I am afraid that the torch lighter components will not last as long as a simple soft flame. That is why my first purchase was a line 2. But since I rarely get to smoke indoors, it would be great to have a Dupont with a torch.
Are they made with real gold? I've been thinking about getting back in cigar smoking. Are s.t dupont appropriate for Cigars?
Are you able to send em back to be repaired? The lacquer chipped after a hard fall.
I wonder if they've figured out the G#/A pitch of the ping, like with the minute repeater watches.
The ST DuPont Le Grand Cling palladium blue lighter is such a beautiful piece!! I would love to purchase one but I hear they scratch so easily regardless if you keep in a case 😢

Sadly the Le Grand is a total piece of crap. Someone has opened it up and it's just cheap plastic inside. A shame. Also, the Ligne 2 he's holding in this video has been downgraded in terms of quality. You can see if you look at the bottom because in the higher-quality versions there are no seams. On the newer ones the bottom piece is a plate held on by tape! Very sad to see from Dupont.
Are the Ligna 8 any good?
The two flames we call it the bunny ears.
Do a video on quality dab rigs.
I’ll gladly pay 10,000 for that cling alone 🤤
I was wondering what the recommended number of cigars to smoke per day is. Some people must have limits, and I can't see smoking ten per day given the time, cost, and health factors.
I'd love a DuPont lighter or solid gold dunhill like my stepdad's. They are expensive, but not if you don't lose them, as if you have a zippo, the amount you pay in fuel could pay for a DuPont or Dunhill instead?
Can you take bong rips with this thing or what?
Can Pine Turpentine be used in a Zippo lighter? 🔥
The lighter cases are $185. Do you sell a protective case for the lighter case?
Never thought I would hear you say big daddy but there is a first for everything
I have a few, but I lose them all the time. I got most back, but they r heavy and tend to fall out when I sit in a sport car or just sit in a deep seat. In my country people give it back still, I don’t want to carry it on a golden chain. Which would be possible with the ring, but not my style.
Kirby, care to say a word about cigar smoke leaving a scent on suits? Is this to be expected and tolerated or is there something one can do about this without taking the suit to the cleaners too often?

@rafaeltorre1643
Жыл бұрын
Break down? The only thing that needs replacing are the o-ring/gaskets and the filter. The only thing that will prematurely will do that is if you use cheap butane and it clogs the filter. Typically they will last 10-15 years after serving. I service them as a hobby and for extra money. Its the knowledge and experience that is the problem. You must practically teach yourself.

The oldest S.T. Dupont in my small collection is a Ligne 2 from 2008. I use it regularly and it still keeps working as on its first day. All the other ones I bought since then also work quite well. There was only one S.T. Dupont lighter which needed to get its seals replaced and that was a Ligne D I purchased for my then girlfriend. Fortunately I noticed that before the purchase, the dealer got it serviced and when it came back hegave me a nice discount on it. Can't say anything against a freshly serviced gold plated Ligne D for 300 Euros. But none of all these lighters broke during normal usage. These things are solid as a rock.
Save one of those Line 2 Cuba Motif lighters for me Kirby! I'm saving up and I have all loved ones on notice that I'll be taking donations for the holidays :) Don't sell out!!

He looked at me dead serious and asked "What will it provide you?", I'll never forget that. If I'd have 1200$ for a lighter I'd buy a Zippo and butane refils for 100$, and I give the rest to someone who needs them more than me.
