According to a comment Terry made after the ceremony, he said he didn't arrive at the hotel until March 14th, and the rehearsals had been going on since the 12th. I don' know what the RNRHOF's policy is with rehearsals and whether you have to be invited or not, but no one has made any mention of being invited to them. Bobby and Tony could not come because they had a prior commitment - another concert taking place on the 17th and were in rehearsals prior to that, so they could not come.

Should be thought of more than they are, their harmonies and melody were truly a thing of wonder and quite honestly rival that of the Beatles. Fave song of anything featured on Mad Men wasn't TNK by Fab Four but On a Carousel. Poignant television use of a song.

The Hollies En El Salon de La Fama del Rock and roll Se merecen Muchachos uno de mis grupos favoritos
Fantastic!♥
51 was a good year to be born, especially for music, and the British invasion
Such an under-appreciated band. They are one of my all time favorites. Why did they not get inducted until 2010?! They deserved to be inducted at least 20 to 25 years ago...not sure when they started doing R&R HoF.

Cindy Range I agree. I feel like they were just as good as the Beatles, but didn’t have the representation the Beatles did.

If nash wasnt in the band they probably would have never gotten in , I think their biggest hits came AFTER nash left the group and the footage they show before this egotistical nontalent ass started his speech was almost all nash

I think they didn't get in earlier for a valid reasons. They were a great singles band but not the best on an album by album basis.
I love this group S2S2S2S2S2S2
Thank you soooo much for posting this sapphiretaurus!! I grieved when I found out our local cable station did not carry the channel showing the RHOF inductions!! I really wish they could have all been there especially my fave Tony Hick-but I understand when you have a previous commitment you should honor it. Congrats to The Hollies!! Well done boys! And well deserved-long past due. :) ♫♪

faeryquene Would’ve been great if Tony and Bobby could’ve made it to the induction but I’m sure the fans going to the already scheduled concert appreciated that they honored their commitment.
"Nash's guitar was never plugged in" LOL!!! I knew it...
Fabulous! Thank you and to aristacourt for sharing!
Just a happy talented good looking band love the Hollie’s ❤❤❤
I've just seen these guys tonight. Still original drummer and guitarist (Tony Hicks). Half empty theatre, sadly. These songs are timeless, try and see them before it's too late.
a fine group
They were ace..on a par with the Beatles. Perfect layered pop songs..so.much talent in that band. Their tunes are classic..the intros you know instantly who they are....
Di nanda, Rolando! Gracias y God Bless You, too!
I love the Hollies and was very glad that they got inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. However, I am sad that Terry Sylvester was not included in the introduction clips. He had cause to feel slighted.
What could be a cooler story than two kids getting together in primary school and staying friends long enough to make amazing harmonies and music that will last for centuries? Graham may not have been "plugged in" instrumentally, but he and his mates sure as hell were plugged in vocally...

obbor4 Their vocals just kill me....love their sound so much.
Same here, Roger. Thank you!
Forgot just how good these guys were, guess I'll look for a greatest hits album.
Don't listen the people what they say only listen and joy the music☺🙉👍
@Poopaloo55 Downright adorable! I love that Mancunian accent!
Yes I could see that-but it was insulting to Terry to not show at least a clip or two post-Graham Nash. Terry was very much a part of the group when they had their later hits.
Nik Cohn was an acute and fearless pop 'n'rock critic, but IMHO he got it badly wrong about the Hollies. Called them " ... a perfect hit machine; they never missed and were very boring". Man ain't got no cultcha!
They deserved it❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
as fate would have it,Graham Nash is at the bus stop going to Miami Florida!
Wow, you've said exactly what I've been saying ! The Beastie Boys ? The Hall of Fame lost it's credibility.
Excelente..
@mikelandonsgirl You're welcome, Gaby! The Hollies rock!
@TheOtherFifthBeatle You're in good company!
magic
According to a comment Terry made after the ceremony, he said he didn't arrive at the hotel until March 14th, and the rehearsals had been going on since the 12th. I don' know what the RNRHOF's policy is with rehearsals and whether you have to be invited or not, but no one has made any mention of being invited to them. Bobby and Tony could not come because they had a prior commitment - another concert taking place on the 17th and were in rehearsals prior to that, so they could not come.
@katdowli Thanks, Kat! I'd like to know where those clips came from, too. I liked how they included the Shindig clips where they're being introduced, and Frankie Avalon's introduction.
Love the great Hollies! I wish someone besides Van Zandt would have inducted them. He is not funny to me.
@peterdchecksfield You're welcome, Peter. I love this montage. I don't know where that "He Aint Heavy" clip came from, either. Maybe someone on here knows.
Terry Sylvester should have been included.he was such a doll.
The most outstanding song these guys ever did by pretty much a mile (over all the cute Brit Pop which was really nice yes), the"Academy"chose to only put the harmonica intro ?
"He Ain't Heavy. He's M' Brother!"
@christianphi You're welcome!
Shame there was no footage of Terry Sylvester in this montage.
had original songs of Linda Ronstadt "I cant let go" and the Monkees "I'll be true to you ....yes I will"

Thomas Ponzio Whaaaat? Linda never did a Hollies song. She was country rock.
Does anyone have the interview clips of Graham Nash from 1964 and Allan Clarke from the late 70s or whenever? There's a bunch of clips I'd like to see that's in the montage.
I read from several sources that Terry did not attend the practice sessions for the induction ceremony...
@Poopaloo55 Linda, look at 2:48 What envy of harmonica...!
Should be thought of more than they are, their harmonies and melody were truly a thing of wonder and quite honestly rival that of the Beatles. Fave song of anything featured on Mad Men wasn't TNK by Fab Four but On a Carousel. Poignant television use of a song.
I am a huge fan of the Hollies and a huge fan of the E street band and a huge fan of Mr Van Zandt. Sorry Steve that was shit.
I did answer him. Read the comment right below it.
You're right as always my dear...they shouldn't have been omitted. There was a bit of a Nash bias that night, I felt..
Couldn't find part 2. Did he ever get around to saying anything at all about the Hollies? P.S. - Hollies - truly magical sound, clever songs, inspirational.

I hope so. Playback defective
No Bus Stop?
Heads up . Playback error when Van Zandt is on point on the mic. Twice it froze . Disappointing. Can you please fix it ? Perhaps the first was related to an advertisement ; but I can’t be certain. We all love but hate ads .
Correct me someone if I'm wrong, but I read somewhere the song 'Kerry Anne' was about Marrianne Faithfull??? If I'm right, I wonder what inspired the song??
I didn't see Terry Sylvester in the montage footage. :(
@NewHopeNashFan Perhaps the guys who edited it together just wanted to give some kinda shout-out to absent recipients...
02:35 The Hollies opening for *Soupy Sales*?! Ah, the early '60s . . .
Most of the clips were pre 1967 that is why.
@katdowli Two very sexy moments indeed. I didn't expect the "I want you, baby" part to come up, either!
The RNRHOF started in 1986.
