This is one of my favourite scenes in the movie, I thank Peter Jackson for incorporating the appendices into these films.

Sauron's clearly been teaching Azog how to swing a mace like a badass.

Gundabad Orc. This was an epic scene. I loved it. Especially Balin telling the story. Dwalins mohawk is really cool. I also saw Gloin and Bifur.

They are actually pretty small compared to men. This battle is between orcs and dwarves. Andwe all know tha dwarves are small but big compared to hobbits.

By the way anyone notice that one of the orcs Dwalin kills looks just like Bolg, Azog's son?

Thorin should have decapitated Azog in this flashback, thus making his son Bolg the main villain in Azogs place. Would have been way better, and more interesting side story than Azog who was supposed to be dead in lore. Instead of realising “oh shit wait Azog actually lives” it would be “oh shit, Azog has a son whose out for blood”. Would cut out a bit of fat too that hamstrung this trilogy. Also, this flashback scene is one of my favourites in the trilogy which I believe to be heavily flawed but not utterly terrible.

From the picture of him that was released I think he's been killed here and is resurrected later by the Necromancer. Bolg's actually a fully prosthetic creature unlike Azog who's completely CGI so they must have something panned for him.

I admit that peter jackson could have come up with a diffrent weapon for Azog instead of taking Saurons weapon and knocking 4 or 5 dwarves around just like Sauron and the men and elves

Dwalin's epic mohawk should have its own storyline!

This scene wouldve been made complete with a smaller scene at the end of Thrain and Thorin standing victorious at the mouth of Moria, and they look in through the door and sense the Balrog down there. That WAS why they didn't reclaim the city after the battle. Thrain sensed he Balrogs danger and said no.

It's Graham McTavish, who plays Dwalin. He's confirmed it. Also Dwalin was in that battle.

That's Bolg at 3:05 isn't it? I wonder if they keep him in the story or it's Azog all the way through now.

Thires something I don't understand if the orks have taken moria then how is balin buried inside it :s did they take it back then lose it againe

After the events of The Hobbit, Balin goes with Ori and Oin in Moria trying to reclaim it from the orcs and in there he's slain by an arrow. But how can you see this clip or comment on it I thought it was blocked by youtube copyrights

THE HOBBIT IS A PREQUEL to lotr, they lose Khazad-dum aka Moria, take it back though not fully, then reopen the city and gets killed again by Durin's Bane aka Balrog

Let this be a reply back to everyone who is assailing me with canon facts, that I have read the entirety of Tolkien's body of work multiple times, I probably already know what you are pointing out to me, and that I, in fact, was making what is called in some corners of the Interwebs a "joke". Azog was killed in this battle! K I L L E D, his head was cut off by Dain II. Ironfoot. Jackson twisted the chronology here, and I hugely dislike this.

Because it's against original story. According to Tolkien, Azog was killed by Dain II. Ironfoot. This means not only Thorin didn't cut his hand, but it means as well, that Azog would not be able to pursue dwarf company in Hobbit. The only reference to Azog during time of Bilbo's quest is Bolg, Azog's son. And in book, there's no mention of Bilbo saving Thorin's life by killing Warg rider! All of this is pure bullshit made only to make Hobbit "more cool". Jackson, you screwed this. Period.

If you're going to waste time making a character into a youtube account, at least say something witty..
