Although my primary wristwatch is a Rolex, I also proudly wear my Timex Boy Scout watch, which my parents gave me as a gift when I joined the Scouts in 1955.

I bought a collection of 1960's-70's Timex watches. To me it's not about how much I could sell it for, it's about the history of each piece and the old styles that I love. To think about all these watches have seen is what fascinates me. Videos like this just further that drive to dig into the rich history of watches.

Back in the 80s; as an middle school kid, my mom bought me a Timex Atlantis 100. I loved that watch so much I wore it up until 94 until I accidently hit the face on a door handle and spiderweb cracked the face. Me at the time just tossed it because I figured it was worthless. To this day I wish I would have kept that watch and just got it fixed. Fast forward to about a week ago, I found the exact same model and year of the watch I had. So I paid 100 bucks (EBAY) for it and it is almost in excellent condition. I have a Citizen, Tag, Tissot, Casio and this Timex is the one I love the most.

The History of Timex production in Portugal in 1970 is still very interesting. To work on it at the time was my great challenge. It is a fantastic watch and a marvelous world organization.

Great video. Some of my friends make fun of my Timex watches. They're beholden to designer watches, and I tell them that Timex watches are worth their weight in the watch collecting world. You can't say that so much with designer watches. Thanks for sharing. 🙌 ⌚

Well said! Most people who don't respect companies like Timex don't have a grasp on how important their horological history is. Glad you enjoyed and thanks for watching 👍

I collect nothing but Timex and their new Q and Marlin reissues are awesome. Timex was my first watch and now at 50 Timex watches will be my last watch. I am currently wearing my pepsi bezel Q and treat it like a rolex.

You mention other non-watch endeavors during the war years. But don’t forget the Timex Sinclair computers in the 1980s. It was really just a Timex label on a product developed by a totally different company, but it was part of the company’s business for years. “The first computer under $100” :-)

I haven't worn a wristwatch for years. Today I bought two Timex watches. Back to wearing watches again. Sadly I went to two stores where they used to sell wristwatches, but no longer do.

@VDO FX Strategically, the Timex brand and the name they had chosen went on to sell more watches than any other brand in the world. Seemed like a good decision, possibly. Either way, thanks for watching! 👍
