    I can see how alternating your dribbling hand helps with balance and stride, versus doing it all on one side. On the funny side, imagine a referee blowing a whistle for traveling.

    It's funny because countless NFL players ran track and field some winning gold medals in the Olympics. NBA is more of a learned skill than speed sport. Even Baseball players ran more T&F than Basketball. Rickey Henderson was faster than any NBA player ever. Ricky Henderson ran 100 Yard dash in 9.6. I watched Michael Jordan play in person I lived less than a mile from Birmingham Barons stadium and watched him steal a base. I was shocked at how slow Michael Jordan was. He had no explosiveness when he took off but he did get his base. Jordan bought the baseball team a brand new bus that must have cost him a fortune. It was a big deal the 2 years we had him but as athlete Basketball player in Track & Field have done great in jumping sports like long jump and triple jump. They just aren't built to be an explosive runner compared to T&F guys.

  • @DankScole

    @@Wallyworld30 I just meant for this record in particular 😅 but basketball (atleast the PG, SG , SF positions) require a lot explosiveness.

    @@DankScole I'm a huge NBA fan and some of those guys are indeed explosive but in a mile run we really need someone that has amazing cardio. Running up and down a full size NBA court is an incredible workout I'm actually surprised none of these guys ever ran long distance Events in T&F. What NBA guy would you bet money on that runs the fastest mile? Giannis seems perfect with those crazy long strides and speed. Then again the much smaller Jevon Carter is extremely fast and lightweight would surely make a great long distance runner. Who would you pick to run your mile?

  • @DankScole

    @DankScole

    @@Wallyworld30 if this were a couple decade ago I Hoe you would give it to Iverson. He was an athletic freak. Currently as crazy as it sounds I wouldn’t be surprised if LeBron broke it. I used to watch a lot of nba workouts and Lebron was one of the few players I actually seen run full miles and this was him cooling down. Westbrook had a crazy Mike time but this was like 2017 so I don’t want to credit him. Giannis has crazy athleticism and strides, so he’s definitely a good pick. Don’t judge me on this last one but Avery Bradley just comes off as someone who secretly ram miles after practice 😂

  • @Wallyworld30

    @Wallyworld30

    @RealSweetKid That was my point and when I did into research it I was surprised no NBA Player ever ran track & field and college level or above. Only event NBA players participated in was jumping events. Still Giannis intrigues me because if he trained for it he could run like a gazelle on the track.

    That's incredible. I never ran track and field for school but I played on the Baseball team and Sophmore year our coach was a hard core prick. Coach made us run a full mile before every practice. So we're all tired as hell before even starting practice. This did come in handy in Gym class when we all had to run a mile and we were timed. Out of 100 kids that ran that day I came in 2nd with a 5:45 and only kid that beat me was on the track and field team. He beat me by like 30 seconds it was a little embarresing but I was proud of coming in second.

    They should pull up a basketball hoop at the finish line and the runner needs to score a goal to stop the clock at end of the race. It would be funny as hell seeing people try shooting a shot immediately after running a mile in 4:40.
