I used to love this game as a kid, it's a shame it was left to die. I'm working on a spiritual successor of sorts to it that will hopefully capture the feeling of playing it again.

This game was part of my childhood. Randomly it popped into my memory today and I searched "stick arena ballistic 2023" on youtube in hopes of some recent content. Glad to have found this video

Kids today will never know how great web games were back in the day. Loved this game, Stick RPG, and Fishy! from XGen.

Awesome history video dude, I actually was a person who would get lab pass all the time when I was little. Using the extra weapons felt so great, and also the space maps were awesome as well. I remembered the membership server. Basically, in the server, it was just snobby people talking about how they are special for having membership and getting to hangout in the cool people lounge.

There are still some flash games that i haven't played a very long time and can't find them to this day :( (just so much of nostalgia that i can't explain)

Most of us if not all of us have no idea why they didn't care about this game anymore. Yeah, skye died but.. the game still had a community and they just abandoned it. But tbh the mods ruined a lot of fun for everybody in the last years. XGen just kept "hiring" these weird bullied kids with anger issues and expected them to behave. I'm the only player that got rank 16.. and shortly after they just shutdown stickarena completely. The game wasn't too active but if they actually cared it would still be going strong today. Just had to erase like 3/4 of the mods and re-made it in html5, maybe add a few spinners or something

One of the best flash games ever made.

Stick Arena was the important part of my youth. I was one of many Polish players. I met a lot of amazing people in this game, with some of them I still keep in touch. But, I have to agree with one thing: this game was killed by many years of lack of improvements and new features. Nota bene, thank you for using some of my SA gameplays in your video. I'm glad they were actually useful to someone.

the Dimensions rollout also soured a lot of the playerbase, and set people looking for alternatives. plus the lack of moderation. Boldur lmfao

Felt nostalgic and decided to research this game after remembering playing the original back in like 2005. What a throwback… I’ve moved countries since. Great game.

Played many hours on this game, it was the first online game I ever played and probably the only one that our computer could handle at the time. All my friends including myself were alt free killing to see who would reach top #100 the first. When the mods came into my private games it scared the hell out of me first but after a while it didn't bother me. For some strange reason I considered it being time well spent. I made it to rank 15 after all. Never was a really good player but managed okay in battles. I also used hack programs up until rank 8 when I got banned for 1 week. I remember a lot of guys sitting in the lobby with their high ranks and I wanted to be like them, showing off the spinning thingy aswell. And so I did and I liked it. We all knew from eachother we were alt free killing aswell since we joined eachothers Brawlers Burrow games. I have no idea why I seemed to enjoy the way I played the game back then, I missed the whole point of the game actually up until rank 12 or 13 when I stopped alt free killing and started becoming better at the glock and such. I also invested a lot of time in building maps. Turned out to be a lot more fun than alt free killing. Good times.

Man.. I remember all of this, from playing Stick Arena on the school library computers in 2006, to having my mind blown when they dropped the Stick Arena 2008 trailer... I even download hacks too but mines worked miraculously lol I was addicted to this game for real its embedded into my DNA at this point

W video, i love how XGen just putted the same Stick Arena combat system with the same weapons and assets and some new to Stick RPG 2 combat.

Wasn't it the opposite? The Stick RPG 2 Combat demo was released before Stick Arena

i loved this game man, played it so much & loved the stick rpg blue head. played that so much as well. i was just explaining to one of my friends about this game & literally talked about everything you talked about just off pure memory alone. great video man.

I feel like due to how the game was designed to work - most stuff was done on the clientside rather than serverside (position, weapon picking) and hence the problem in hackers. But it worked great for people with slow internet back then.

I hope a remake will be made sometime. This game was my childhood.

this just unlocked a whole file cabinet memories from my childhood. i would play this game for hours and hours, trying to rank up playing randoms in US of A, trying to find random vips to let me into their games. thank you for this video. also very informative

Hey. Agent (Formerly Agent,.,.) popping in. Amazing video, Luis. It's August of 2023 and I just discovered that there are no forums, no Stick arena, nothing. It's truly over. I may have stopped playing like 5 years ago or so, but still. The fact that it was still sort of there was comforting. Now it's gone, and it feels like a little sting to the heart. XGen truly did let SA die. If Stick Arena couldn't survive, then Town of Salem should not have survived, either, but it did. It iss refreshing to see a video where some of the community is gathering. It's so nice to see you all here. The part of me that loves this game and this community will never die.

I joined a lot of the forums for these hacks too. Most people didn't get how to use the HackPacks but when the Trainers came out and became public it was RIP Stick Arena lol

I really enjoyed the nostalgic feeling you brought to me and the rest of the community. I was hoping to see a video like this emerge out the catacombs to bring light onto the subject. Also I appreciate using my video clip for like a few seconds lol. It would be awesome to see this game resurface again with the same battle pass system. It definetly needs to shine onto this new audience that are more onto like Battle Royale games. Which I honestly could see this game have its own little battle royale system which would probably make this game shine. A game where you go against 100 other stick players would be crazy xD Anyway Good job on the timelines brought back a lot of memories. :D

Man glad people still remember this game. I remember being in lobbies that had popular players on KZread at the time. I had no idea it came out in 2005! I was playing it by 2010 I think. The game is a forgotten legend and every noob, including me, camped in the corner of the bathroom in the Xgen office with the sledgehammer. I lost my original account like a dumbass by a scammer saying he can get me a level up or some shit, I can't remember, it might've been the battlepass its been years, but he needed my password. I was so pissed.

I was so into the hacks. I was on the forums with one of the few original hackers that came out with "HackPack" regular ppl didn't know how to use them but when the "Trainers" came out everybody and their mom was on SA hacking smh. Trainers killed SA original when they became public

How you never played the lab pass weapons? Lab pass owners could "Vip" normal players so they could join their LabPass matches. It was really fun and plenty of people would do it everyday. Also iirc once a year there was a "free lab pass" week.

Yeah but if you know how to use it and the other person does too all they have to do I make you miss one shot and you lose. I guess saying it was ok was wrong. We’ll call it high risk high reward.

this game was only good on desk top computers with a mouse... once people started getting laptops (including me) with the mouse pad the game was never the same.. laptops would just lag too much. rip

This game was certainly one of the OGs and battlepass made it fester into cancerous practices. Runescape at least is updated continuously so Xgen really dropped the ball in that regard. Player base could've improved overtime with certain advertising but it's all ogre now. Also I think the closest game to this with actual offline playability is most Mdicke games and those are typically improving on steam ironically.
