I’d give this one 5 bags of popcorn, and then a little miniature laptop computer - since this one is on KZread. Normally when we think of a movie, we think of going to the theater and seeing it on the big screen, so I actually considered docking this one a few points. However, given the creator’s boldness in releasing the movie on KZread in this innovative way - I’m not sure this has really been done before - I will be sticking with my original 5 bag review.

The simplest way I can describe OCATC to people is “it’s a fake movie review show where one host is uninterested in movies, and the other’s life revolves around movies but he has absolutely nothing interesting to say about them”

Turkington and Heidecker knew each other before The Comedy. In fact, my introduction to Tim & Eric was when they went on Neil Hamburger's show "Poolside Chats" (which was on Tom Green's "webovision" network back in the day), which was right before "Awesome Show" first started airing.

I will never forget. I was working from home, being bored and scroling through youtube. For some reason I clicked on On Cinema at the Cinema Oscar Special #4 and so just like that, without any context I started watching, constantly questioning myself if what I'm watching is satire or the real thing. I knew even then that I have stumbled upon something really unique 😄 Of course, as the absurdity grow, by the end of the special I was sure it is scripted 😂 Edit: Btw, you did a great job on capturing the essence of the On Cinema universe. Next level writing, I'm interested in more from you. Subscribed.

The whole aspect of this type of media is that both the producers and the audience are in on a massive inside joke that is depicted as real which I explore in the video. However I also think that in the end everyone who enjoys On Cinema knows what it is and it’s a fascinating creative process that is worth discussing and exploring. Really this video is just diving into the history of the franchise and its development as a whole rather than explaining how it all works.
