Who had never been the Burmese army stepped on his land in the city-state Never accepted the capture of Ayutthaya that his city must become a city as well. @Green Scenery first of all u should see the video properly... Toungoo dynasty just captured Manipur only for a short period of time ....and Konboung dynasty just again invaded Assam n manipur .. That's it ....it those not make them a part of Myanmar. And yeah I know those regions were also not a part of India but currently they are ...and as because there are tibeto - burman people ...it those not make them burmese...and u should know that NE India also has Indo Aryan n austric people so its not only tibetto-burman.... I don't have any propaganda for u it's just the truth what I'm saying.. It's upto u how u take it.

Thank you it was very informative but there was a piece of word which is wrong. The Myanmar government did not committed the genocide, the military did. Politics in Myanmar is complicated, the Military of Myanmar and the Government of Myanmar are 2 separate parties as The Military of Myanmar still has 20% of the Parliament. Not Chinese Shan state, It is Shan state that is owned by Shan(Dai) people,you know eastern Myanmar and most part of the Yunan province of China is actually the region natived by Dai people before invaded by Han Chinese

@@walkwithmisuk The Arakanese were Sino Tibetan Buddhist people that have settled much earlier than the other ethnics such as Mons and Bamars. Chittagong was their greatest city until the Mughals came in. Marauk U was their ancient capital.

for those who are unaware, "Bayinnaung" literally means "the King's brother". that's not his name, it's what courtiers called him before he legitimized himself after the death of the "rightful" king. so that's not even his proper title. calling him Bayinnaung is like calling the roman emperor "caligula" (little boots) to his face. he would have found it insulting.

"Bayin" means "King" and "naung" means "elder brother" so full meaning is "King`s elder brother". His full proper title is " Bayinnaung Kyaw Htin Anawyahtar" . And he is not insult by "Bayinnaung" title. Because he love his younger brother (rightful king who is not related by blood) so much.

@@aegontargaryen7735 Further more, Bayinnaung is brother in law of the rightful king. Bayinnaung's mother took care rightful king as wet nurse. Bayinnaung and rightful king were playmate & when grown up they fight side by side to conquer the wars. Bayinnaung married king's elder sister. After rightful king passed away, there were rebels and Bayinnaung was appointed as a king by late king's ministers. Initially Bayinnaung refused to be king but at the end he had to accept it.

Which Rakhine the original Rakhine Kingdom or the modern Rakhine people's kingdom. Because the Arakan from before the 1200s was not populated by modern-day Rakhine people. Modern-day Rakhine people only came to Arakan after the 1200s from Pagan Kingdome. Rakhine people are a distant cousin of the Bamar people.

@@thekingminn Mon ppl r already there (i.e. Austroasiatic ppl) but for Rakhine ppl they are not there around that time before Bagan Empire bcoz they all arrive almost very same time into the land of Burma. 3 periods of acient Dhanyawadi period belong to other group who r the original indigenous ppl of today Rakhine state. Vesali-lemo and the later on periods all belong to arakanese ppl. Like Bagan Empire is the successor state of Pyu city states , Rakhine also have the similar story with their cousin Bamar ppl.

@Randon Twan the thing is the Arakanese that lived in Arakanese before the 9-10th century and the modern day Arakanese are not the same people. They were Indo-Europeans while you guys are Tibeto-Burmans. Rakhines are Bamars that became a bit different because of hundreds of years of separation. Like how people in Tanintharyi have a different dialect and culture from mainland Bamars.

You should include the minority group/insurgent groups such as Shan/Karen and more who are still today dislike the central government and are doing their own self rule. This is a part of history that we are ignoring, the dictatorship is erasing these historical event and we must not stay silent! @TheDragonHistorian

If chinese people upset about that then just Leave the Area as Yuan. But you have to understand what exact South Asia conquering campaign started specifically. Yuan dynasty started on 1271 so exactly their is not empire at that time. So it was lead by Mongolian Army who lead the Army to invade south Asia. South Song was no strength to invade that terriotory because all army force was defending their territory By Mongolian Armies. Plus the South Asia conquering campaign was the key idea for backstabbing South Song Empire from back side That is why it happens. We have to be careful about specific history.

Pagan controlled Arakan as well as Dawei. Otherwise, those regions wouldn't have been Burmanized. The Mons under King Razadrait controlled the south of Arakan as well. Bayinnaung campaigns are all wrong. Lan Xang was added in 1565 and reconquered several times after every revolt. There were several years of united empire, not a flickr as in the video.

Technically yes, since "paganism" is just a general term referring to any non-Christian religion. However, the word "paganism" comes from Latin while the Pagan Kingdom was named after its capital city, so the similarity in their names is just a coincidence

It’s actually pronounced Bagan so no correlation between pagan (the city) and paganism

@xq win Well said. Pagan was named by British. British always did that kind of joke after wining. Mon city "Dagon" was renamed by Burmese king as "Yangon". But British made it as "Rangoon", the 2 words combined and gave joke name, "ran" & "goon". Also "Pazundaung" was nicked name by British as "push him down" and "Kyimyintine" was "come and die".
