The History of Morse Telegraph - Part 2

Ғылым және технология

Telegraph was the original killer app for electricity, and set the stage for a communications revolution. In Part 2 of this AWA Shares presentation, Antique Wireless Museum Telegraph Historian Chris Hausler explores the early history of telegraph, both how the technology was used and the cultural changes it brought about.

Are there any wireline telegraphers still alive in the Antique Wireless Association?

There are a number of wire line telegraphers still alive but I do not know if any of them are members of the AWA as I don't have a membership list. There are a number of members of the Morse Telegraph Club who once actually worked the job but of course they are getting up there in age. About the youngest I know, like me, is in his 70's and learned it from his father putting himself through college working as a railroad telegrapher in the 1960's.
