Germany has thousands of varieties of breads, small cakes and pastries. The organizations like the German Bread Institute list them by category, region (all the way down to variations by town), season, history, etc. When I returned to Germany years ago, my wife and I went on one of the popular Bread Tours, wherein you try the popular town breads and pastries in each of dozens of towns that you visit on the tour. This used to drive her crazy, because she expected more standardization in the names and recipes than there is or could ever be. And when we hit Schwaben and Bayern, even names she thought she knew were pronounced differently and truncated unexpectedly. It won’t surprise you that even more variations were introduced when some of the cultures split off in far off Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia. In Norway and Denmark, we call it "fastelavn", which comes from the German "Fastelabend", meaning the same as Fasnacht. Our traditional baked goods are buns - in Norway, they're usually plain sweet yeasted ones, filled with whipped cream and jam after baking. Sometimes we add almond paste / marzipan to the filling as well. They're eaten mainly on the Sunday before Fat Tuesday, on Fat Tuesday it's often pancakes here as well.

This whole event has been a pain for me and my fallout playing family. The event itself is a pain, but it's compounded by the fact that as a bloodied build I find doing the event in nukezones is not worth the pain and anguish and most of the servers I've been on have a constant flow of nukes in the area. I have only got three masks out of the 36 I've run, a minotaur and two skull masks one of which I placed in the box right before I was summarily executed by another player. Of the 36 I've run, 7 I did not complete because right during the boss fight the game locked up and I got booted. I get that people love it but based on my experiences I absolutely loathe it and finding out it is here for another week makes me sick to my stomach.
@N30NR10TxАй бұрын
Lol. It sure is a tongue-twisting name. Your German pronunciations were understandable. The German accent is a harsh one. You have to put some real "stank" into the words and come across almost as if you sound like you want to fight. Lol I'm half German and there is a big population of germanic people all through Ohio. The food is bland and not very colorful, but the sweets are amazing. Cookies, chocolate, pastries, etc, are absolutely incredible.

Fact. Cinderella is called "Aschenputtel" in German. Now you know where it came from and what it means
So you are telling me..back in the day, they were not grinding for a glowing mask?

I've heard many times that Germany has the best sweets :)
Not happy with this event. When I have to go afk to deal with the family or a job the game is good. But several times I come back right before it starts an then I help get the event going. The sec the bots start walking I have a game crash an can't join til it's over. B.S.
I’m originally from right outside the Pennsylvania Dutch area and we always pronounced it faush-naught.
Its a Grind to not get a mask with a 0.2% chance to get the one rare mask you didnt want
Interesting knowledge
where i from it is Fastnacht and the donuts are called Kreppel
Real life fastnacht dognuts look really delicious!
Finally got a glowing mask? How many runs did it take?
My understanding was basically German Mardi Gras

I'm from western PA (we're LDS) but two of our farm's neighbors observed it and they would invite us (me and my 7 siblings) to enjoy it with their kids, we would provide them meat and Dairy from our farms ironically alot like provide the robots stuff, so I always get a laugh when the festival is in the game lol
Hey there! I noticed you had some trouble pronouncing "Fasnacht"! I came to offer help, I hope you don't mind! When saying "nacht", it's almost like you're trying to say October, but when you get to the "Oct" it's supposed to be more like "acht" 😅 there's no "X" in the pronunciation. I hope this finds you well and hope it helps!
What suit are u wearing in the intro and how do I get it ?
Fat Tuesday is also what made me throw up on my Vegas hotel floor at 3am
Fatsnatch is the best.
me n mom would make tamale pie together on fat Tuesday and Spanish rice n chicken as well, I'm a good hearted Christian no worries i just love making some good food on that day to honor traditions sometimes salmon too,ohh man my glowing radicorn mask i want so bad
What does Fasnacht mean? It means dead servers where everyone is AFK. It means level 800 players empting a donation box that is meant for low level players. It means people selling rare masks for real money. IMO Fasnacht is the low point of the year. This event brings out the very worst in the 76 community.

It means carnival in German
It reminds me of the meat week event
The CH is more likely pronounced like a J in mexican, like in Jalapeño. Hard to explain since English doesn’t have a CH like German
Random stats, not true to every player, but seems to give 1 rare mask about every 20 runs, at 80+ runs now and have 4 mask now. How is it going for everyone else?

So basically you’re lying, that means you would’ve done 20 events a day when there’s max 24 a day 💀 even if you were afking that wouldn’t be possible nor possible to keep track of…

@@oreixx I'm the 1st one there at the event and speed run finding all the robots, I also carry 50 wood, 20 wax, 20 steins, and 20 intestines on me always, so I'm done by 9, 10 minutes in, as soon as the event ends I hop onto a friends game and hope that it's still going. Not sure why I would lie about this but ok haha

You can also keep track by the steins plan which is guaranteed every event so just count the number of plans you have.

@@zstink9058 damn that’s crazy, so do you get around 4 hours of sleep in that case or less since it was 80+ runs

Also usually an event ends by 12 mins after, latest I've seen was one that ended 17 mins after.
That’s amazing west!!!!! Thank you for this awesome fact about you and fastnacht
It mean I’ll never get a glowing mask, just like the last event
The masks, I don’t get. I know lots wear them but me personally, don’t really care. I suppose it’s a fun addition? Each to their own.
did you get a glowing mask yet?
Why not to actual Helvetia and celebrate Fasnacht🎉
Dang, now i'm hungry.
Funny when i put it into Google Translate it came out as Carnival.
Somebody Anybody willing to donate any fasnacht mask
It's not nakSt, it's nakHt.
Ngl Bethesda shouldve kept Fasnacht for another time not right after a big DLC drop 😂 such a boring event to have after new content drop. Cant wait for it to be over lmao
fat snacks :D
Awful lot of crusty commenters here. Imagine having so little to do in your life that you can spare so much time hating on something lol. This is a contextual video for an in game event and youve all hate watched it just to hate comment. Im off to the Appalachian wastes to celebrate fasnacht because i like to involve myself in things i like not things i hate
Lore papi
It means, boring!
It sounds German. I pronounce it fosnot.
No rares so far but my friend has gotten 7 rares I hate this game
The masks are mildly interesting but the event is so lame they are a chore to go for.
Fastnacht mean is... mr west tek told me to nuke the event...edit someone nuke the event and with the mask on steedy rads isn t fun but at the end i got a glowing queen mask...idk did it ramp up the odds some elce got one 2
Meaning of faschnat is honestly just be lazy in all servers for a two week break and as a new player don’t expect to do any other event I found that out the hard way in a eviction notice when nobody else came but us low levels
Would have been interesting video if you would have bothered to subtitle it. The verbal spelling is not helping.
Thanks for the video. I thought it meant scamming your customer into wasting their time and ammunition for a basic mask over and over again. I learn something new everyday....like there are other better games to play. See how that works. Let's hope it catches on!!
Fastnacht is imho the absolute worst part of Fallout 76. Not even blue screens, black screens, server crashes or scammers are this annoying.

I cannot agree, friend. I enjoy fasnacht and welcome it as q of the few events I like to do. I prefer fasnacht, tunnel o love, spin the wheel, neurological warfare, scorched earth and dangerous pastimes. The rest suck imo

This is very interesting 😮
Why is every 80% plus of the events in game so braindead and boring...please add more enemies
boring, afk, dumb masks and rewards so people do it...
I hate fasnacht. The mission is lame The rewards are mostly lame. The drop rate sucks Its induced FOMO The servers are overloaded.
Thanks for the vid man. Slightly crispy on the outside is how I like my ennemies to end up in 76 🤙🫡

Sounds good with donuts too...
I think quite a lot has been lost in translation?.... Fastnacht = carnival, since thursday before up to ash wednesday, when lent starts. Typical 🥯 have no hole and are not called fasnachts or how you spelled it.🤷
