Fun Fact: Oshawott is the first starter Pokemon Ash caught that wasn’t wild or abandoned by its trainer.

Oshawatt and Piplup's rivalry was so entertaining. You take 2 personality filled first stage Water types, put a wedge between them, sit back and enjoy the ensuing comedy.

Most of Ash's pokemon didn't evolve. Ash is one of those rare trainers who understand that there us more to unlocking a Pokémonsl's true power than evolution, like raising them with live, care, and a recession disregard to his own safety. How many times did Ash let his Pokémon literally use their attacks on him after all?

I loved Oshawott! Sure he might not have been the best when it came to battles, but the guy was one of the most cute and wholesome Pokemon Ash has ever owned. The way he throws his scalchop and immediately regretted it was adorable! Thank you for doing this one professor! 😊

When I was watching BW I thought Oshawott was going to fully evolve into Samurott and be ash ace for the season

I noticed right off the bat that oshawott’s personality greatly resembled Dawn’s piplup and thought it would be incredibly entertaining to see them interact. I couldn’t help but imagine would piplup and oshawott be friends or rivals. I guess their departure shows that they were both. It’s relationship and similarities with piplup are why I never want it to evolve.

Oh man don’t get me started 😂. Osawott is so goofy. From how it was afraid before of opening its eyes in water and also while using aqua jet, sometimes missing. Ash’s Buizel used aqua jet tons of times and it didn’t even phase it, and overtime it got over it. The attacks it used was aqua jet, hydro pump, water gun and razor shell. It wasn’t Ash’s strongest water type but it did have some potential and with training and strategy it did win some battles. And like some of Ash’s male Pokémon, Osawott got turned down by the one it had a crush which was the osawott princess who left it for its evolved form Dewott. And that funny 😄 part from where it thought that Purrlion they met before was a girl when it was a guy, that was the funniest mistake I’ve ever seen in my entire life. There was also that time it lost its scallop and it had to use a rock shaped like it to battle against Stephan’s Blitzle, it had to build up its endurance and strength to hold it together and its useful since rock doesn’t conduct electricity.

I remember thinking oshawott was going to be ash’s first water type to fully evolve since it seemed early on they made him seem like he would be ash’s ace (like winning the first gym) but it seems they kinda made krookodile the main powerhouse by the end instead. I understand why though since samurott probably couldn’t pull off the same comic relief vibe and we got greninja the next series anyways, but it still is odd how few of ash’s unova team evolved.

I've personally always had a soft spot for Oshawatt, both because it's quite adorable (even by starter Pokemon standards, in my opinion), as well as because it was always my go-to pick for gen5 as a starter. And while I am aware that a lot of people think that Samurott doesn't make the most sense as a final evolution due to how different it is design-wise from it's previous forms, I've always personally thought it looked like a cool and interesting Pokemon, and I'm also hyped for the new V Star card it's getting, which I think has a lot of promise. Overall, Oshawatt may not be my favorite water type starter ever, but it's still one that I personally think is a bit underrated

Great video! Always had an attachment to this little guy even if he wasn't the strongest. To update, as of the most recent episode, Oshawott made another appearance in which he helped train Sirfetch'd alongside Sceptile and Bulbasaur when Ash returned to Oak's lab. I like the sort of subtle implication that he's become stronger offscreen.

I really wish the writers made Oshawott evolve into Dewott towards the end of the series. It could keep the goofy personality, but have a newfound confidence regarding the scalchop and new moves. It could keep Razor Shell and Aqua Jet, but obtain new powerful moves like X-Scissor. It also would’ve been interesting to see it go against Cameron’s Samurott in this new form to truly test its mettle

What Oshawott lacked in power he more than made up for in personality. Though I do wish he evolved into Dewott. Not only would he still be able to keep up the same gags due to looking similar enough, evolved Pokemon are taken a bit more seriously in the anime, so he could've won more. He really deserved to catch a break after all that bad luck lol. Also the love/hate dynamic with Piplup is even funnier once you realize they were both designed by the same person.

Professor, I know this is bold but I officially love you for THIS VIDEO. OSHAWOTT is my everything. I have over 15 OSHAWOTT gifs in my phone for ALL occasions. UNOVA is my favorite region, games, and series of all Pokémon series. The region has great starters but Oshawott is by far the best of all three. I could go on and on about why Oshawott is so great but I tell you, I am so happy to see him here. Thank you for this lecture!

Oshawott was Satoshi's also known as "Ash Kechum's" greatest Unova region Pokemon monster besides Pikachu and after the battle Oshawott vs Cesar the Dewott I thought Satoshi would have to and will release Oshawott but then a plot twist happened and Oshawott stayed with Satoshi also known as "Ash Kechum".

Awesome that you covered Ash’s Oshawott probably my favourite water type starter (with the exception of Froakie) and Ash’s one was just the funniest. I laughed when it got rejected by a lot of female Pokémon but at the same time I felt heartbroken for it 🥺… Oshawott also reminded me of Brock crushing on all them females I hope Osh never changes 🤣

Loved Oshawott while not much of a battler he tried his best and had so much personality and probably the most memorable of the Unova Pokémon in my opinion and happy he never evolved he’s better off the way he is kinda like Rowlet

I like your quote “lusting after the ladies”. It’s interesting that Cherrin was a rival in the video game, but in the anime he’s an extra gym leader. I wonder if Oshawott would become a bit of a punk if he were to evolve into a Dewott, and maybe he’ll become more mature and serious as a Samurott.

Oshawott was the reason I chose it in BW2 a full team of 6 with him took out the GYMS,E4 and champion but in the anime always have a smile when Ash brought him out ❤️ Oshawott but could have evolved it to Samurott or dewott

Make a video on what would be Ash’s optimal team of all the generations. Pikachu obviously, Charizard, and Greninja for sure then a grass type and 2 others that help balance the team and give him flexibility

Hey professor sliver, it would be actually nice if u could do a video of ash’s pikachu, but not only a specific region, but all the regions (kanto,Johore,hoenn,sinnoh,unova,kalos,alola) since Pokémon journeys is still not over I would want to u to cover galars too

Oh wow, I just realized that prior to Froakie, NONE of Ash’s water Pokemon are fully evolved! O.O Any Oshawott, not the powerhouse of Unova but definitely the one who provided most of the humor in the BW series. Thanks for another great class session, Professor Silver! Oshawott being a goofy lover is pretty funny, I would want to see a very badass Hisuian Samurott with his goofy personality, going for fully evolved pokemon like Serperior for example. But him being all cute and goofy as a Oshawott is better. Also, that editor got their wish, I'm happy for them

this is the starter I always picked whenever I had the chance to pick a unova starter, I'll tell ya I always had oshawott in my games and part of that has to do with this one, though to be honest I wish he and meloette actually got in a relationship and meloette offered to stay because she didn't wanna leave him, now that would be interesting to see
