As a transgender and bisexual jew, I feel so privileged and blessed to be accepted in my community as a conservative jew, and I'm sending my prayers to those that aren't accepted. I see you. I give you my heart.

It's heartening to know that there is support like this for people who need it. The root of the problem here is the aberrant condemnation of natural same-sex attractions and relations by the scriptures of this tradition (as is also true of the other Abrahamic faiths). If people could free themselves of these dysfunctional superstitions, the path forward to psychological integration and happiness would be clearer.

A reform congregation will be accepting of gay people. Some conservative synagogues are also accepting. Don’t listen to the “orthodox only” crowd. Conservative & Reform conversions are valid. I had a Reform conversión and am eligible for making aliyah to Israel.

That’s a common translation which is most likely not accurate. The Hebrew original doesn’t say “man shall not lay with man...” but it says ואת זכר לא תשכב משכבי אשה תועבה הוא which doesn’t address a sexual orientation.

I'm a sapphic nonbinary woman who's converting to Judaism. I doubt I will ever be involved in the Orthodox/Chasidic community, but advocating for LGBTQ+ love in the Jewish world is really important to me and I'm glad to see some steps forward!
