I enjoyed this video, the fun humor reminds me of Home. It also explained details. That are important.

I intentionally use a loose knock fit so this video was interesting. After shooting pinch grip for long enough I found I don't need knocks at all really.

Here's something else about tight nock-fit that I don't see mentioned much anywhere. Too tight nocks = stiffer dynamic spine, making tuning impossible.

19 thousandths vs 12 thousandths is more than a 50% increase in serving wear

So very little difference but most note worthy gain is consistency? I would be very interested in seeing if a heavier projectile would absorb that strings energy more effectively than a extremely light one. Perhaps you would see less vibration or a shorter vibration from the string ect. Sounds logical in theory anyways

Really cool Ammon. How about checking out the deepower one piece broadheads that look like a qad? They are fantastic and only cost $20. They come in 100 or 125 grain. I think you will be impressed.

Either bear razorhead glue on or Jager screw in is all I use. I'll check these out but I shoot 175gr so it's hard to find good heads that weight! Lol 💩

Those chronos are hot garbage. Don't trust the numbers. Ive seen mine vary by 55+ fps shooting a compound, and I've seen 4 others with similar issues.

I will probably get away from it but for now I just tye a small step of felt above the nock and the dress ( serve ) the loose ends. The I wax the felt with Burts chapstick. There are definitely some things I don't like about the setup up and consistency is not one of them. When I get better at twisting and serving strings I will work away from it. For now its my temp ( maybe ) solution and works well for now.

People have literally been shooting knocks that do not click onto the string for thousands of years. Growing up I only ever shot Mercury knocks on wood arrows. They can be a bit inconvenient when you want to hang a bow in a treestand and use both hands for another task, but otherwise shoot great.

I am curious to see, how you can make a nock a better fit. I tried to widen nocks by heat treatment, which was a bad idea. Several of the nocks broke during shooting. One even broke during arrow release or shortly after. 😬

You need to change the serving size or the number of strands in your string.

@@HamishGarland or: get a new string, until I am able and patient enough to replace the center serving. 😅 (the center serving got thicker over the years by moving tighter together 😬)
