My first reaction was to have his hoofs checked. I then saw that a lot of comments said the same thing. That bull is a beautiful animal.
He sure is a handsome big guy! Not to mention he gave you some really nice calves. I hope he can heal and continue doing what he does best. If not .. He sure made a life of "service". Good job ol man. Have a safe and happy 4th of July Tyler!
I love working with Hereford bulls. Usually so gentle and they don’t want to fight you every time you get around them...say like, walking him to the pens to take care of that injured foot. Hopefully, it’s just a rock or bad bruise. Put him in the squeeze shoot and doctor him up. Love your channel
This video was Superbly filmed, Love those drone shots. Hopefully the ol boy recovers.
What about checking it out, maybe trimming and seeing if there’s an abscess you could drain. Our Hereford bull got an abscess and we trimmed it and drained it and he was back at it. He was about 4 years old

@Amanda B did you look at how long his hoof are. There in need of a trim very badly.
Farmer Tyler...He is sure one magnificent specimen of a breeder bull. Also, I would think, the extreme weight of a bull has a great impact on his legs and hoofs. A gorgeous looking bull...If he's going out, he's going out as a champion breeder. I'm so happy how well you treat all of your animals. Happy July 4th to you and your Family, Farmer Tyler ! God bless ! :)
You are so sweet and caring with your animals. Great job.
Way to care about livestock Tyler! 👍🏻 And the whole turning your back on the bull was pretty funny!! 😂🤣
I sure hope this bull I proves, he looks like a good looking bull, and with a real good disposition! Good luck on his feet, and please do an update on how thing went with him. Loved this video!👍👍❤️
It’s 2am Great to see you again. I can’t wait to dehydrate my first ground beef. 😊👍😊 Fixing to watch your video on the Bull.
The old one wanted to walk down to the heifers to save his energy 😂 I hope he gets better.
Good afternoon FTR, hope everything turns out ok for Mr. Hereford, he sure is a beauty. Take care and have a happy 4th of July weekend.
Yep. Slow and steady when working stock. Great content as always.

yeah i see some of these you tubers always running their animals, im always yelling at them, hahaha
That is GREAT advice about taking care of cattle. Slow and smooth.
I believe husbandry is one of our ultimate responsibility, especially when you have someone else's animal. With a prior history of injury, and non resolution with treatment, going to be a tough decision for the owner. Keep us posted on the outcome. Unfortunately we are going thru the same issue out here with our herd sire so I can definitely relate. Always something...huh. Good luck Tyler.
I hope he means well soon in your pen because he is such a beautiful Bull❣️❣️ ❣️❣️❣️

That was nice of you to escort him up to the corral Tyler. 👍
That is one nice bull, and a good temperament too. Can you post an update on a later video to let us know how this worked out for you, if you get the time? Thanks for posting .👍👍❤️❤️
Awwww poor bull... I hope you ask the owner to check his hooves maybe he needs to have it looked over, trimmed, or something.
BEAUTIFUL WORK
Poor ole guy. It's tough getting old. I speak from experience. 🤣

Aww poor soul he's lookin pretty fed up. 'Where's ma gals'. Me in a field with a bull ... no way let alone right beside him. 😲😲😲🚜🌿🚜
Hereford Bull! Poor Guy! Too much Partying the Ladies! Nice looking Bull! The Left Front! Retirement! Tyler, you’re so kindhearted! You think of the Animals first! Poor Guy! The Left Hoof must be sore! He’s so Gentle! Just moving right along! Thank-you! Great Video!
He seems like a real nice bull. Hopefully he improves enough to go back out with the cows. As an aside, we tried cow ownership for the first time this year. One of the few things we got right was to lock up a cow that started favoring a foot and dropping weight. Having food and water closeby allowed her to recover fully.
I agree with your logic “work smarter not harder” 👍🏻
Poor thing looks tired and fed up , hope he recovers well He's a lovely looking bull be really gorgeous with a clean face haha I love the curls between there ears , and all your red calves have them curls too
Hopefully he will recover, nice looking bull! I agree with you about moving them slow make em think it was their idea to go in the pin. Lol.
Get those hoofs trimmed...way to long. Seems his owner dropped the ball on that one.

You don’t need to trim cows hooves. If you do it’s usually a genetic fault and they need to be culled.

The bull's got a pathetic look on his face in addition to his painful front leg !! Hopefully, with a good vet they can get him back into service !!
Hey Tyler, Thanks for your videos first, really interesting and helpfull. Myself, young farmer from germany and crazy about cows & bulls. I have some "Highlands" ( Scottland ) and some Wagyu-Cross i just started this year. Wanted to start 3rd sort of cows & bulls and are really interested in Angus and Hereford. I think you already have some good experience with both breeds and can maybe help me with some pro and contra of both breeds and what you prefer, even when I see you have both. x) Cheers & all the best for you and your farm! Jonas - I really like both and can`t decide with what I start..for longterm maybe both but for the moment and the place I have, is just space for one. THX!
I have to kinda wonder if it's that time that we all hate to think about but inevitably "the bell tolls for the bull" and he must permanently retire to "that great pasture in the sky"? He is a good looking specimen and I hope he heals up and gets to go back to work.
Since this is a symptom that has returned, I would think a hoof look is in order. Maybe as easy as getting a stone out from between the toes.
Thanks hope he gets well
Im surprised he let you separate him from the cows so easily. You would never get away with that with a dairy bull.
Sorry to hear about the problem. In ranching there is always something going wrong. You cherish the days when everything goes well. Good luck.

Well said!
Such a nice looking animal. His limp is pretty subtle to my untrained eye. Hopefully it will improve soon.
when did and has he ever had his hoofs looked at, normally they are checked in bulls once a year 2 months before breeding season so any problem can be seen to and healed - the front hoof's look longer than they should be

I agree and I've been around cattle all of my life with my Uncle being one of the top Hereford producers in East Tennessee. The bull needs his hooves attended to. It looks to me like he has been locked up somewhere for some amount of time and he could not regularly walk on enough rocky surfaces to naturally wear away some of the elongation of the hooves. In that case, he needed to be tended to. He has a heavy walk and tends to spread his feet. All and all, he's a good looking bull, just needs a bit of TLC.

Such a chill bull!
keep us up to date on the bull and hope he gets batter soon so he can get back to work if the owner lets u to let him go back with the female cows
Ok, I’ll tell the joke. An old bull and a young bull were standing on a hill watching a herd of cows below. The young bull says, “Let’s run down there and breed one o’ them cows!” The old bull replies, “Let’s WALK down there and breed ALL of them!” Have a great Fourth of July!

Gita the young bull wanted to run to the cows to breed with only one cow because after running to the cows he would only have enough energy to breed with one. The old bull wants to walk so he would have enough energy to breed with all of the cows in the herd. Get more action walking then running.
Yep. My bull is getting old but still 6 and strong. I usually sell at 7 if he’s seen my small heard.
Your bull is lucky to have you 😊👍😊
It's a front, so he should still be breeding. But he needs to heal up too. Thanks for the video!!
Is a shame he hurt his hoof. He's a great looking Bull. Hopefully he will get better.
Still one hell of a looking bull
Poor old guy...I know how he feels! Some days, I hurt. I limp. I ache all over...and get slower and slower. At almost 67, sometimes my heart just is not in it either. I know how you feel buddy! LOL
You should narrate the Nature Channel on PBS. Great content as always. Thanks for all you do and uploading.
Tyler, how ya doin man, finally past the wild spring we've had and actually have a little bit of time to catch some videos on the tube again. its a dang shame when them nice big bulls have an issue like that, hopefully its fixable. Good seeing you again man take care. Good Video!!
Thank you.! ✝️💝😊👍🏼🇺🇸
Do you ever use the drone to herd the cows? We started using it this year and it works awesome and also makes some great B-roll!
Good 🌄 to Farmer Tyler Ranch
I love to watch your video on your ranch. I so would love to visit your ranch. But I don't know your area and I'm from San Diego CA
Be safe and I hope ur bull gets better.
Park the sidexside inside the corral lol, all your cattle congregate around it all the time 😁
Good job being patient/slow-Does he have pinkeye?
It's tough being an aging male that feels he still has a job to do. No, No, please don't walk me to the coral for rehab

Thats too bad about the old boy Tyler. You sure live in a pretty place. You and the family have a great 4th. Take care. p.s. Don't be a stranger.
What do you do with an old bull? Is it naturally aged beef or stew meat?
When calving season starts, it will be interesting to see how many cows he actually covered.

could be a tumor between hooves after 8 years old a bull gets to heavy to breed a lot of cows forget the heifers
Poor old dude! One day we'll all be there. In fact right now my left knee is all screwed up.. Hopefully Shannon doesn't send me to auction! Ha ha. Hopefully he heals up good. Seems like a nice mild mannered bull.
There was an old Bull and young Bull up on a bluff watching The Herd below... lol Yeah... I'd have his hoofs evaluated...
Dang, did ya'll not hear the part about the bull having been previously injured, and that they were already keeping an eye on him? Do you think a rancher who leases out very valuable bulls, AND his vet BOTH missed that it's probably just a simple hoof issue? Man, give some credit.....everything you see is only what is shown on these vids, NOT everything there IS to see. I gotta say, watching him walk into and thru that corral was like watching a future Hall-of-Famer exit the stadium for the final time. Sure, he looks unhappy, but he seems to have a hint of accepting the realization that, while his head still has game, his body does not.

Would a hoof trimmer be good
Poor baby, it breaks my heart watching him limp around! I certainly hope they find out what's wrong or he heals quickly on his own. God bless
12:12 here in So Cal😁
His hoof is treatable.
thats such a handsome bull
Check out the HoofGP channel. Maybe what he needs is a good trim and maybe a block so his hoof can heal properly. Great video. Have a happy 4th of July!
@8:54 made me laff "not the best plan" to me = hey hold my beer
Tyler how much does it cost to rent the bull for a season.
So... it seems to be about a year since anyone commented last... how did he turn out? Was he ever put back in service? Or did he turn out medium rare on a bun?
Any updates on the bull? Did you get someone in to look at his hooves?
Have you looked at his foot? He may have something simple as a stone or a white line crack. He's very sweet. A shame to cull such a beautiful beast for something very treatable.❤🌅🌵

Why don’t you buy the bull and make him a sanctuary? Then you can fix the simple stone or white line crack and live happily ever after
Now wait until he demands his worker compensation ... and pension, Social Security and Medicare.

Did you get that hoof looked at?
Did you call a vet to check on limping bull if he has hoof infection etc?
Get a hoof professional to look at the bulls hoof . He could have a crack or stone stuck in his hoof or he could have a split .. Get him looked at please
Hope that bull recovers, you don't get bulls like him that is so calm!
Tyler, the Bull looks in good shape except for the foot. Can a Veterinarian get to his feet in the Squeeze Shoot? I realize it is someone else’s Bull, you’d make some good video if you filmed the Vet treating him especially if The Vet is as food as The Hoof GP!!!
I have at least one bull every year that goes lame. I really don’t know how it’s happening. I give them all a hoof rot vaccine and it did nothing.. and it’s not a farrier issue either.
I'm just glad they don't treat people the same as cattle. I would be on the menu at Wendys or Burger King by now!
Nice video
That was a very long walk for that bowl with a hurt foot. You could tell by the time he got to the corral he was worn out.!!
Is it too late to get another bull in?
Oh no...I've been out of service awhile..is the cull truck next!!!
So this guy is toast, i mean hamburger?
So is it a hoof problem or a leg problem?
Have you had a hoof trimmer or vet look at him and asked the owner to pay for it. It's a shame to retire such a good looking bull like him
Wow the hoof GP really made a lot of your subs experts
@ardurbin2

One of the most valuable skills as a troubleshooter is VISUAL observation. That & common sense, which is NOT very common these days.
So the real question is vet coming to check it out? Place in corral means nothing if you do not have the leg issue reviewed.
How old is that bull?
So this young bull looks at the old bull and says. Let's run down there a get us a heffer. The old bull shakes his head, looks at the young bull and says. Lets walk down there and get them all...
Buy the bull from the owner the fix that hoof and you'll have a good herd bull
@6:38 so sad...going home for the last time to be culled...even the bull looks defeated.
That bull might have a rock in his hoof. You might want to put a block on his hoof.
When you said that bull has a problem i thought it was impetus . . that is a career ender for any bull virgin would expense . 😵😵😵😵😵
