Annette's story is one of dazzling heights and somber lows, painted against the backdrop of Hollywood's golden days and the cultural shifts of the 1960s. The video captures the essence of Annette's enduring charm and her transformation from a shy child in Utica, New York, to a beloved national treasure. Her rise to stardom was fueled by the magical touch of Walt Disney himself, who discovered her during a performance of "Swan Lake." This marked the beginning of a journey filled with spotlight and smiles, as she captured the hearts of America's post-war generation.
However, Annette's life was not without its challenges. The video also gives a poignant look at her courageous battle with multiple sclerosis, a struggle she faced with incredible grace and dignity. This aspect of her story highlights her off-screen heroism, as she used her fame to bring attention to the disease and inspire those suffering from it.
Viewers will gain an intimate understanding of her professional triumphs on the silver screen where she defined an era with her performances in "Beach Party" and other classics that helped shape teenage culture in America. We also explore her personal life, including her roles as a loving mother, a devoted wife, and later, a determined advocate for health awareness.
Join us in this moving tribute to a woman who lived a life as radiant as the roles she played, yet as challenging as the disease she fought so publicly.

I grew up watching her on MMCLUB. That puts me in my early ‘70’s. “Unfortunately” I fell in love with a woman who was born about 2 months after I graduated college. But since we are older now, the difference matters not. She developed MS 13 years ago. Fortunately so many advances in Medicine over the past few years, MS is no longer a death sentence, well, we hope so anyway. Some of those advances are a direct result of Annette’s funding. We cannot thank her enough.

When I was a teenager I tried so hard to fix my hair like Annette's but I never could. I idolized her then. When she became ill with MS, she was so brave and an inspiration to others in the way she handled her illness.

My favorite memory of Annette is when my mother and I met her in Joliet Illinois where she had performed with Frankie Avalon. She took the time to visit with both of us and was so very kind. She was prettier in person then she was on the screen. She autographed a record album for me which I cherish to this day. She was simply unforgettable and an American treasure

She was such a lovely lady and loved by so many. I admired her talent and beauty. I loved her movies and any role she had in any show. I loved her role in "Babes in Toyland" and it remains a favorite of mine today. It was so sad to hear of her health issues and knew she was loved by her husband and family and so many in the world. She was such a role model in how to forge ahead and do your best even when adversity strikes. She be loved and will remain in the hearts of many forever.

my mom has MS and lupus....she is still doing great and has had it since around 1986...the problem with MS is that it attacks each person differently...some go slow (like my mom) and some (like annette) goes quick :(
