We were asked to remove concrete that went inside the pipe during the foundation construction.

    This homeowner needs to go after the builder who put all that concrete in the drain. This is outrageous for you guys to be breaking up concrete. Stay safe.!.

    I would love to do a plumbing internship with you guys. I'd get you guys drinks, sweets, tea, and coffee. Carry all the heavy tools. Clean up after a long battle with the pipes. You always do such a thorough job.

    Those are nitric acid fumes. Nitric acid is what damaged your equipment as well. How did this happen? Did the homeowner pour nitric acid down his drain in an attempt to unclog it?

    My guess would be that someone used it to try and break the concrete down and it got stuck due to zero flow, so when they drilled too deep they freed the acid. Wouldn't surprise me if that was also the Construction crew's fault.

    @@dracoknight9066 Whats wild is that it was fuming, which generally means it's like 70% which isn't what you get your hands on at a hardware store. You're buying that from a chemical company and it is not cheap.

    @@crabmansteve6844 the plumbers said in the tape that they were flooding the pipe with chemicals then HP hoss then spring. I figured they knew the dangers of it reacting with their coated equipment.

    if a contractor left concrete let alone this much in the pipes..... what else did they mess up???? I would have already had a call into my lawyer and going after his contractors license to be revoked.... These plumbers are amazing!

    That's what I was wondering! That's nasty, and not something to be triffled with. Of course the quickest way to dissipate it would have been to flood it with water.

    The only gas I know that’s that colour are nitrogen oxides. That implies nitric acid.

    the pipe is in the foundation.... so could be slightly fast or slightly slower, but cost a substantial amount more

    Have to ask! How much damage did those toxic chemicals you used do to his pipes in the long term? Would suspect if the chemicals could corrode concrete they must damage his pipes

    Out of curiosity, given how long this took for you to fix, is it ever cheaper for the customer to get the builders in to replace the whole pipe? Really interested content, you guys are all so kind and professional with one another

    i mean think of it this way, the builders would have to rip walls down, remove flooring and break foundation to get to the pipes that they fucked up, that could not only cost even more, but take much much longer

    Changing pipes is really expensive. I spent $8500 replacing some pipes. The cost to jet and snake was $1200.
