The Haunting of the Andrew Jackson Hotel: A "True" New Orleans Ghost Story
Ойын-сауық
Spooky season is upon us, and leading up to Halloween, I'll be sharing with you "true" New Orleans folktales and ghost stories popular among our city's ghost tour guides. The Andrew Jackson Hotel is regarded as the most haunted hotel in town, and is especially creepy because it's supposedly haunted by the spirits of orphan children.

I'd legit have a posse of pirates follow me around and shut down whatever I deemed intolerable.

As someone born in the early 90's, who got the fun of the film-digital photography transition, I very much enjoyed the explanation of "Flim cameras"
So looking forward to more of these types of videos in the spirit of Halloween! Nice inglorious bastards reference I see what you did there 🤣🤣. Great video as always! DEFINITELY my favorite KZread channel..

Nice of you Edgar. You should invite him to your “hometown” of Baltimore. Another unbelievably interesting American city
I love this series, I really get spooked by just some obnoxious atmospheres people put over ghost vids, these stories mixed with fact and a comediac sense/timing is perfect
I stayed there in July 2018. I was in room 211, which is in the carriage house and up a flight of stairs and easily the weirdest hotel room I've ever stayed in. It was clean and nicely furnished but claustrophobically tiny. It was like sleeping in an extremely fancy closet. I didn't experience any paranormal activity but a maid told me she once saw footprints on the ceiling
AJ: I shall declare martial law in your city! Judge: Andrew Jackson, no! AJ: Andrew Jackson YES!

I got that!
Spent two nights in that hotel. The first night a guy recorded a hiss........a very clear recording. In Room 10, I believe, in the building out back (where my wife spent the 2 nights) there is a spirit who would actually speak to us almost every time we walked into the room. Usually sat in a chair close to the door. He also watched 'Game of Thrones' on my wife's phone as she was binge watching while I was in other rooms during the investigation. I can't remember our tour guild's name but she had a colorful Mohawk and a pretty face. This was summer of 2016 BTW. The Andrew Jackson is very haunted and well worth a visit.........if you dare.

True - but thinking about it more, wouldn't they then have to sort of admit defeat to the tour guide guy? If they ended up with paranormal evidence then their swearing at him on the phone seems kinda dickish, not to mention they lose that supposed high-ground for a faked photo.

Why would they take a picture of themselves sleeping? That would be a waste of film. Nothing about these people indicate they'd do something silly like that
That was a good gag. 😀 And that was a great ending. I actually got spooked with that one. 😳
My job is simple; I sit in an Air Conditioned Box in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do for 8 hours a weekday. You have kept me from getting cabin fever.
I worked at a nsg home on grounds of a old orphanage in pa, pts were constant telling g me to "shut the kids up" ect....terrifying
I know someone who has worked in several different hotels in the French Quarter. He said the Andrew Jackson is one of the top haunted locations. He would hear the kids giggling behind doors all the time. They would also tug on his suit jacket as he walked down hallways. Many guests have had their blankets pulled off of them as they lay in bed.
Love your vids. I was just there last week, love New Orleans!
Your videos are always so quality!! Love them
keep it up man, glad I discovered you
Hilarious and perfectly presented! i was waiting for a disclaimer at the end but no? really? no kidding?
I love this guy. I wish he was all of my history teachers
Just seeing some of these now and wow, the weather really hated you for these haunting vids, haha.
Lol, Yes you did have me going with that fake ending, until I moused over and checked the time left. And yes, it was funny!
I'm 27 this year and I've seen and used one of those analogue film cameras. They're not that ancient.
You legit did get me good sir, I must admit. I didn't think to check the time left.
I literally got chills from that last story, and I don't mean the part about no cameras in the phones. LOL 😅
This is dope i like your story
I am such a pedant that I must point out that since 1955 or so, all film, for movies and cameras was switched to safety stock. Unlike the nitrate-based celluloid that had been in common use, and which was both highly flammable, but also prone to disintegration over time, safety film is non-flammable. It'll melt, but it won't burn or explode, as the nitrate film Tarantino was referencing in INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS would. The same stuff was ground up and used to take very early "flash" photography.

...you totally had me, you bastard. Well done.

First you got me, and the ending is creepy AF
@4:35 had me going? I clicked off the video and had to come back! 🤣🤣🤣
Evidently one of those ghosts had an interest in photography! Perhaps they were trying to take a selfie with the couple and forgot that they, as a ghost, were sadly invisible.
4:30 "Whatever, fuck it. Fuck you!" Had such intense South Park feelings behind it 😂😂
Haha! I actually did check the time and thought “What, that can’t be it...”
And once again....another New Orleans story I've never heard! Haha. Maybe I've had too many "Hand Grenades" while I'm in NOLA. Thanks for the stories.
Andrew should do an episode where he narrates via a puppet version of himself. It could be very amusing (yet educational) and I mean, as an audience, would we really be that surprised?
Bruh this channel is full masterpieces
I was just there last month! Super creepy
For Halloween you should do some civil war ghost stories
5:45 bruh my first camera was a film camera 😛 (...and that Inglorious Basterds gag put in tho....)
Lol you so had me in the middle
Have been watching your videos during Quarantine. Miss telling this story and being haggled by drunkards. I liked the part where you said "and nothing paranormal happened, fuck you" Haha. I will have to add that to my tour after the Apocalypse is over.
You got me. Very funny. Lol
I read about this hotel when I was in Kindergarten, but that last story was new..
I wonder what would happen today if someone tried the Pirate Filibuster defense.
4:43 Nah you got me again. Im watching on my phone. Couldnt see the length of video.

It's probably for the best that the school zone ends right near that orphanage that burned down.

A bit off topic but was the old bank building at Oak and Carrollton that now houses a coffee shop once owned by the banker that blew the levees and flooded out all the poor folks down river years ago?
I love Andrew Jackson!!
it was called flim and was flammable, hence flim flam
Please tell story of sultan's brother that got buried alive it's my favorite new Orleans ghost story!!!
That tickling was bedbugs.
I need to see this picture tbh
"It was called flim, I think..." 😂
I would love to see this picture
I just learned that my mother's father's mother's father's father's father's father was one of those pirates. Ouch. Not a fan of marshal law, Andrew Jackson, or Jean Lafitte (whose crew he served with--and who illegally imported slaves). But I am a fan of protesting in court rooms, so maybe that little bit of him made it through the bloodline to me.
I am watching this on the toilet 🌚
Wow, all the ghost boys must have stood on each other’s shoulders and put on a really big trench coat before hand
I stayed here and yes, it is definitely haunted
So, watching this in my bed with the lights turned off was a BIG mistake.
Yeah AJ didn't have much respect for Judges that went against him. See the SCOTUS cases like Worcester v. Georgia (1832).
TFS !
Yet another reason to finally bounce Jackson off that $20 bill! :)

Can Confirm. It was a good joke.
Ghost are real. We had one that made cookies every time wr came home. The house always smelled like chocolate chip cookies. 💀
Interesting. We had a rather different experience with the hotel. Not little childish and friendly pranks, but a demon encounter in the backhouse
Figure you are a school teacher. If not, you should be. If are, your students are lucky.
What do you think young people are? Of course they now what flim is. Everybody knows what a flim is, even i who isn't exactly young. In fact i love flim! Best salad dressing i ever had.
