I love the different touches Nell does to bring them back. Steven is a gentle, light touch to his forehead, like she's soothing and protecting him, which he was called out by Nell for not protecting her. Shirley she cupped her cheeks in a motherly way, like she's trying to be strong for her big sister. Theo wasn't touched, but had to reach out and touch her, because Nell knew that she had to break the walls down herself and trust her to save her. Luke she pulled, when all her life she had been gentle with him. She refused to let him die, and so she forced him to stay alive.

I can never not tear up at Nells scene in the red room. gosh, her words. her acceptance towards her siblings, her forgiveness. it's just beautiful

That was a tricky bit! Had to cut the audio of the taps out, match it to the beat and then speed up the velocity of parts of the video footage to match it. It took longer than I thought it would :D but I guess it was worth it in the end :)

I'm watching all the haunting of hill house edits and none has disappointed me so far

The Haunting of Hill House broke my heart and made me cry so many times. It taught me that my past isnt what defines me. That 7 keeps the bad away. That the things ive done and the things that haunt me do not dictate how my life will turn out or who I will become. Ive learned that there is always hope and that being cold and heartless will get me no where but where I was. With family (not necessarily blood) , Hope, and love, and one can make it.

I'm late to the party because I don't typically watch scary stuff, but man, I'm glad I finally watched Hill House. For being a creepy/scary show, I ended up feeling sad most of it. The last episode/s and finding out it was Olivia chasing after her family, instead of some random ghost broke me. This was an incredible edit!!

Luke’s episode was so tragic. When he was seeing that ghost just counting to seven moving away from it. He was feeling Nell’s death like a withdrawal.

I like this director's work so much … I watched doctor sleep first, and feel in love with his depiction of grieve and anxiety, so despite that film receive plenty of bad reviews, I kept search up for more of his movies, and ended up on hill house. For many reasons, my whole life has been trapped in a somewhat alike mansion, so I easily feel the connection between me and gothic horror. And it's satisfying to see these characters suffered and redeemed afterward. Cause in real life, all my friends are smiling , and I hate to revisit my past memories, cause it gives you nothing. But after watching again hill house or bojack,I feel myself coming a little closer to the closure of my life. I'm still struggling depression till this day , as long as I decide to live the next morning, I will always find some reasons to sleep past the night.

I’m sorry if I’m going to offend some people but this show is by far way better than American Horror Story. I think there’s a fine line between scary and just gross. This show was able to a combination of both but have it not be too much. Theo I could relate to her because she is sensitive and feel things stronger than everyone else. I have HSP... the part where she said “ don’t touch me !!! I don’t need to feel your grief too!!!” That struck a cord with me because I tend to need some space from people because their emotions tend to overpower mine.

I think one of the main differences between these two shows are that Haunting's main focus is the characters and their relationships with each other, that's what we discover over the season slowly, episode by episode. AHS puts a way bigger emphasis on the mystery and the "colder" aspects of people if that makes sense. Hunting is essentially about warmth, forgiveness, recovery, acceptance. Everyone on this show grows as a person because, and in spite of the events. AHS has a grimmer outlook on human nature I think. I wouldn't pin the two shows against each other though. I think they are two different genre, even if they are considered horror programs. I think both of them are great for some people, and can say a lot about us, people in general, with their stories.
