    I like the fat tires. They would be fun to ride on sand or snow, or dirt if it not too rocky. I am sure they help smooth the ride out too. I would like to see some storage consideration, like a hook on the front below the handlebars, and maybe some kind of container under the seat. It looks like you would need a backpack to haul some gear with you. Good review of this scooter.

    i think you would need a different tire to ride on sand. they do make bicycles that are made for riding on the beach. that have much bigger tires made from a softer material and they do not fill the air in the tire all the way, so there is more give.

    Several questions you might answer on other reviews. First: how do you lock the thing? Is there a key? A lock bracket? Vanishing scooter no fun. Second: show us how it's charged. Are batteries swappable. Third: can you add some kind of a basket? Does everything have to go on your back to ride it? Finally: Did you get somebody taller or shorter to you to check it out?

  • @electrifiedreviews

    @electrifiedreviews

    6 жыл бұрын

    Hi John! Your questions are addressed in this review, but to save you some time... 1. It cannot be "locked" in the sense of a bike lock, but the without the included key inserted, it will not run. 2. It is charged with the included battery charger and the batteries are integrated into the deck. They can be swapped, but not easily. 3. There are some aftermarket basket that can be attached to just about any bike or scooter, though they aren't always the sturdiest. So if you're planning on carrying a lot of weight in the basket it might be better to use a backpack, or pick a different electric scooter that has a rack or integrated front basket. 4. I have let several of my friends ride it, some of whom are taller than me and some of whom are shorter than me. Hope that helps!

    longer, cushier seat would be nice. does't really need rear suspension because of the huge air volume of the tires, which acts as its own suspension, but having the other features you mentioned would be dope too!

    These cheap ones(less than $5000) are originally sourced from Alibaba (~$500 a piece), then marked up by a few hundred % and resold in countries outside of China. The original design and bike is called Scrooser, designed by Germans. That model was copied by the Chinese and now those copies are being sold by Alibaba manufacturers to sticker brands like the one on the video above.

    You could probably mess with the motor controller to get more speed out of it, but I think one of the biggest pros of keeping it at 20 mph is the efficiency that goes along with it. More speed equals way more drain on the battery. That being said, I think it would be great if there was a way to unlock like a "super sport mode" or something that let you go faster than 20 mph.

    20 mph is max speed to keep it a bike/scooter if you go above 20 mph it has to be rated a motor vehicle and must be registered through DMV. By limiting output to 20 they avoid all that. The motor could probably do 25 or more easily.

    The company that makes this, took the chinise coco scooter and made it better. Phat scooters is a American company I belive that have refind a chinse build scooter, If you did your resurch you would know the speed is resticted for the US market, there is a leagel speed limit before it needs to be inspected and insured for the road, here in the UK its 15 MPH, ( they can go faster ) and I belive they have about 4 models in there range with diferent spec. The chinise version is about half the cost. So maybe you should review the two side by side?

    How much do these cost? How much do you weigh? Where are these sold at? Meaning besides the manufacturer? Also how is somebody supposed to stand up while you sit what are they supposed to stand on it's not a two-seater and you said yourself that the seat was mighty uncomfortable. I'm going to ask it again, how much is this thing? Again what is the volt how many amps and the torque I need to know if it can go up and down Lombard Street in San Francisco all the live long day. It's wonderful that it has wonderful suspension and all that I just need to know if somebody is way under $150 excuse me pounds how many miles is it going to get if you're going 15 miles an hour. Mostly I'm concerned with the price why it doesn't have the most comfortable you could put two people on the seat, but please answer my question because you don't put a link in there to go get it and so I can't find a price on it and that makes me worried so please let us all know because there's plenty of models just like it just want to know how much this one is when doing my spec check. I know everybody else is wondering what was your weight at the time of most people carry a backpack with tools and things so it was your weight all together also did you just travel on the easiest terrain to get the best mileage Etc it's really important when you do reviews like this to really give it the road test. Also it didn't say how it did in the snow the ice as well as grass and off-road terrains that don't necessarily make things lower in mileage just with those big fat tires and the weight and everything this thing should have no problem handling all sorts of terrain

  • @electrifiedreviews

    hi Lux! check out phatscooters.com/. not sure where else they are sold besides the manufacturer. i dont think someone can stand while another sits, but you could put two riders on the seat, even though it would be uncomfortable with the stock seat. don't recall how many volts, amps and the torque at this point but it's a 1000 watt motor and in my experience that would be enough to get it up Lombard, especially since that street is basically a series of switchbacks. range is going to vary depending on rider weight, terrain, and speed. altogether my weight while riding was about 230 pounds. hope that helps!

    He mentions changing the gearing in the motor to go faster. There is no gearing to change, the hub motor is fixed to the wheel. Also as with any battery vehicle, it is always a trade-off between the motor power or top speed and the maximum distance.

  • @electrifiedreviews

    @electrifiedreviews

    correct. the gearing in the motor remains the same, but you can change "gears" by selecting different modes to unlock more power in the motor. and good point about the trade-off.
