I lost my fiance and unborn child to a drunk driver. She was 7 months pregnant with what would have been my first daughter. Words cannot console you in these moments. As one who has lived (barely) through this, do not give up. Live for them, for their memory, because they survive by your memories. I will say no more, but for one thing. I am so sorry, both for you and your children. Godspeed.

I just found your site today. Of all day's to see this dated on Mar 2nd. That date is the day of what was also my car accident. Almost everything you went through with your body, the drunk driver, and the loss of my baby girl. I was in critical care so sadly I did not even get to be at her service, she was 8 months old. My Son was 3, and they never found him for 8 hour's after the accident. The car had been towed to the junk yard. I would wake up every so often and kept asking where he was. Fianlly my family arrived and they also asked where he was. By the grace of God they find him under all the rubble of my car. He was on life support for 93 day's. When he woke up he did not know me or any of the family. Anyone could have been his family! I think part of that was a blessing for he never asked about his baby sister bc he did not know he had one or even what the word sister meant. Yes he had a severe closed head injury. Once he woke up he had both legg's and arm's casted and his jaw was broke in 4 place's. I had a broken neck and 6 rib's broke and a head injury. I never got to see him till 6 week's after the accident. I know I am telling my story only bc I seen that date of Mar 2nd. A mother never forget's date's that tragedy happened on. My Son [only child I have now] is doing well. He learned to talk, crawl, walk, and LOVE HIS MOMMY. I am so sorry for your loss, and even tho it has been a year & a half for you, I know you still have sad day's and painful days as well. You are in my prayer's, and I look forward to watching you progress. To all your follower's please forgive me for sharing my story, it help's sometime's to just tell it.

I think we should just have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to alcohol and driving. Let’s just make it so if you drink any amount you simply cannot drive. It might be inconvenient, but it would save countless lives. It would take away the grey areas. Call a cab, call a friend, or just don’t drink if you’re driving. I’d love to see that be the law.

This is an extremely hard video to watch for anyone that knows our family and I thank everyone for talking the time out of your day to watch and help out in our time of need. Matt was an amazing father and friend to many people and will forever be missed. **ATTENTION** For those of you like me who want to help but cannot afford to do so financially, try to devote some time to watching some older videos, or re-watching them. I think that will add to her YT income. So since I am not working, I have a lot of time to spend watching YT, I have set a daily alarm & am going to watch at least a few videos per day from this channel. So if you just commit to maybe one video per day or even a weekly commitment if you have less time, anything is something, right? The more of us that watch, the more of a difference it should make. You never know. I did the exact same thing when I lost my dad and had to tell his friends. It's hard to deliver such terrible news and know that the person you are telling is hurting now. My heart goes out to everyone impacted by this tremendous loss.

this made me cry. thank you so much. the anniversary is so so hard on my heart. another year further away from the last time I held his hand. heard his voice. I just have to give it all to God and let him carry it for me. otherwise the weight of it all will crush me. the grief will always remain, I am just learning how to carry it with me in every aspect of my life. I thank God I am alive to see our babies grow up, and I do it with him in my heart.

Yesterday would have been my 24th anniversary. My husband passed away on December 19, 2020. I have spent the last few days crying. Widowhood sucks so bad. Sending you prayers

Although a year has gone by, I know that the healing process continues, physically, emotionally, and yes, even spiritually. If you remember we were pretty good KZread friends and I was around when you and Matt started your romance and watched you two grow your family. I understand your anger but perhaps you don’t understand the situation of this person that made it behind the wheel. They had a very high alcohol reading of .35+ they very well didn’t know how/what they were doing, let alone the capacity to call an Uber. Does not excuse them for what they’ve done. That person is dead by their actions. This woman has lost her husband among injuries. Please try to focus your anger into healing vibes for this woman and her family.♥️

Babygirl, you need to stop apologizing. I cannot imagine the depth of hurt you have. Matt was one helluva man and he loved the hell out of you as you did him. Please do not worry about this channel or any of us. It's our turn to take care of you. You have our love and prayers for you and the kids. Take whatever time you need, forever if need be. Grieving will take a long time and right now you just need to take care of you and your babies. You mom was watching over you and the kids and now she's taking care of Matt. I don't know who you are but I came across this video and felt compelled to watch. It breaks my heart to hear about what has happened to you. My grandmother who was healthy and a big part of my life was hit and killed by a drunk driver. She was pulled over on the side of the road and in the process of getting into her car when he hit her car. My husbands cousin was hit by a drunk driver and it caused the car to catch fire, he didn't make it either. I feel your pain very deeply, I am so sorry to hear about this. I wish everyone thought about how their actions affect others. Some people are so evil and selfish that they can't see beyond themselves. I hope you can find your strength to get you through this terrible tragedy. I'm so incredibly sorry for you😔

I just saw this as well. Prayers for all of you. My husband passed from being hit by a car in a crosswalk and he went into a coma. This devastated my family and still today we are estranged. Please pray for us as well.

I lost my husband to a drunk driver 21 years ago. My only advice is that your grief is your own, you may grieve however you need too. I still think of him every day, as you probably will.

Hi Heather, I have been with you and your channel since first watching this video, it touched me greatly. I am now 60, when I was 26 a drunk driver hit me and my boyfriend, who is now my husband. So much still impacts my life today from that accident. I won't get into it all, not nearly as devastating as your loss has been. We survived, I still suffer to this day, I am permanently disabled, whenever i even think of feeling sorry for myself I come back and watch this video and remind myself how much worse it could have been, but mostly to gain strength through you and your determination, you are a true warrior, and inspiration beyond belief, stay strong and continue to heal, I am following your sour dough starter series, i love it...thank you so much, much love and prayers to you and your family

I am so sorry. I am permanently disabled as well even though I am not collecting disability. I am choosing instead to keep going on youtube and doing what i can. It’s hard some days. But surrendering it all to the Lord has helped. I grieve for so many things. I just remind myself how blessed i am. I am still alive. 🙏🏻❤️

@@TheKneadyHomesteader well you have sure helped me, with your positivity and continued strength, I know we don't see the worsed, as most don't see my worst, but I just cannot imagine your pain and suffering, and you have been such a help to me, whenever I am feeling down and going through it, a bad day a bad week, i come and watch this, and it gives me strength, so thank you for being you 🥰♥ I fought going on disability, and continued to work till i could no longer walk, eat or sleep because of the pain, so after fighting it, I became so sick I had to give up my career, it was very hard to do. Our drunk driver had just gotten his license back from a dwi one week before hitting us, and he was back behind the wheel a week later, he got no punishment at all, I only wish he knew the damage he caused in hopes he would never do that again, because of our experience our daughter in highschool was the leader of students against drunk drivers for her 4 years of high school, she is awesome.

Wow, I watched this video 2 years ago and am watching it again this Monday morning at 4:30am.....I hope you and your children are doing amazing!! I plan on watching more recent videos once I finish this one...again. lol

We are approaching the 3rd year mark since our tragedy but we are all doing very well. ❤️🙏🏻 We take it day by day as our hearts will always feel an emptiness and a longing but God is a redeemer and he is helping us build a life again. It’s definitely a process that can’t be rushed. ❤️🙏🏻 But the Lord is sovereign so we all take comfort in that. Thanks for being here and watching. So much love to you.

I came across a video of yours for Texas Roadhouse Buns & when I went looking through some more of your videos I came across this. I want to commend you in taking care of your children's mental health, as well as their physical. I lost both my parents to a drunk driver when I was 5 years old & back then (I'm going to age myself but we're talking 1968) no one gave a thought to my mental health & to this day I still have problems from it, they just manifest themselves differently as an adult. I hope you & your children are doing well. I truly am sorry for your loss...& even sorrier for how it came about.

As a nurse and a widow, my heart and prayers go out to you. My youngest was 6 when thier father passed unexpectedly. You were spared for a reason, and your return home will alleviate a lot of the children's anxiety. For all that you have been through, you look wonderful. You can do this, but only if you take care of yourself. Im new to your channel, but like many of the you tube followers, if you let us know when you are home and how we can help, we will. Prayers of comfort and courage for you and yours, healing, knowledge for your providers, and peace of mind.

Me too. I sent Heather's site to a nurse coworker of mine who years ago delivered a full term stillborn after many prior losses. She kept her with her in room several days not wanting to say goodbye to her. She reminds me of Heather and would totally understand such tremendous loss and be blessed by her. She told me she is going to follow her. ❤

Me too. I lost my young husband 18 years ago. He had been sick for 4 years. It was still such a shock to loose him. I can’t imagine being in this kind of an accident and loosing my husband with no warning. I’m so sorry Heather. So incredibly sorry!! You won’t lose your subscribers.
