    Awesome vid! I just got a modbo 4.0 install from a customer and I haven't done a ps2 in like 15 years so this is a good refresher, such a pain compared to other mods.

    This is what separates the men from the boys. It’s one thing to slap an Aladdin in an OG Xbox, it’s another thing altogether to install a modchip like this. Really nice work man, great tips and suggestions soldering and routing those wires. One day I might attempt hard modding a PS2. One day…

    Thanks brotha! Would love to see you give one of these a go :D The install process is only really this gnarly on the 79k and 90k slims. The earlier revisions have much easier points to solder to but either way I'm sure you'll be just fine.

    can you make a beginner guide how to hack the switch or what is needed? my SD card died on me and I was still on SXOS. I know I need atmos but I have no idea how to get anything started. I was using EmuNand. Is there ANY purpose on staying on a super old firmware with SysNand or just update to latest firmware as well?

    Totally unrelated, but I need to know lol. The Pound XBox HD Link cable uses Component video. Their PS2 version uses RGB, Could you make a Frankenstein Pound HD Link cable and see if it gets better video then their actual PS2 cable. You could use the XBox version and wire a Playstation connector to it. I think you could also build a Wii version this way since they don't sell one.

  • @ModzvilleUSA

    @ModzvilleUSA

    Жыл бұрын

    Yea actually! If you flash mechapwn (don’t use force unlock) then you won’t notice a difference with or without the SX wire. Mechapwn is better at handling PS1 then any modchip so I personally recommend holding start to disable the modchip when booting ps1 games.

    I wonder if that type of soldering tip would be good to solder to TSOP NAND/NOR memory legs. And I don't know what cable/wire size would be good for it. I need to un-brick one of my PlayStation system. Looks like I need to get myself a NASA microscope, a soldering iron/station and god knows what else. 🥲
