Good evening Ashley, I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your Dad . May his soul rest in peace. I’ve lost both of my parents ( from South Africa ) while living in Denmark. It not easy but my family ( wife and two daughters) brings me peace of mind makes life worth living.

Very very touching! I spent my childhood with my grandparents. When I left Cameroon, I said goodbye to my grandfather who came to town for medical emergency. So I didn't have time to go to the village to say goodbye to my grandmother as well. I left Africa with the hope that I would come back soon and enjoy the good food of my grandmother. When I heard my grandmother got sick, I took my guitar to sing in the street in Germany. I earned a lot of Deutsch Mark, the money before the Euro. Thanks to this money my mother was able to take care of my grandmother who unfortunately passed away. I didn't attend for her funeral, and that hurt me until today. Life is sometimes very unfair. Ashley, I wish you lots of courage. Stay blessed.

Oh sweetheart I completely understand and my ❤ and condolences goes out to you. Two weeks ago my mom passed away while I was out of the country (U.S) trying to secure what would be our home in place we were going to move next year. Our last conversation was about that very same place. But little did know that that would be our last conversation. I am still in shock and so much tears as I write this. The crazy part is I told her that I was going to take her to visit South Africa and how eventually we would live there, I even told her about you Ashley and the programs you offer to people looking to make the transition to the mother land. You are right, when you’re on your mission nothing really shakes you, at least not to the point where you want to give up thought it may really hurt. Not to mention I gained a powerful ancestor. I want to encourage you to stay on path because you are effecting the lives of many, myself included.

I am very sorry about your loss. Condolences. I hope and pray that you will recover soon and your daily activities continue as NORMAL. My wife & I are currently dealing with the same tragedy. She lost both her parents within a space of 3 weeks. Momie died 3rd week of November 2023 and father passed away last week & we are preparing for funeral this week on Thursday. This was and still very hard for the family as all of a SUDDEN, in-laws find themselves as orphans. So, we are going through the same pain. Hang in there & things will get back to normal soon. You are a very wise young lady. My family and myself were military and lived in Europe for years we only returned stateside every 3 yrs. for a month in the summers. We missed alot but I would never have traded the awesome opportunity to see other cultures. My daugter travels a great deal. There were some draw backs I am disconnected to family in many cultural was no real deep ties and to be honest it was a Culture Shock coming to America sstill is when I travel and return.. You seem very grounded and I am sure your dad wasn't distraught over you absence. Parents know their children pretty well in most cases. He got to see you living a wonderful life and that's all parents want..your success is Icing on the cake❤

Ashley my condolences to you. I can relate cause my mother suffered with cancer. I left and went to Egypt to live there. I came back to America to visit her and other family members besides work. But eventually while I was there in Egypt my mom passed. It hit when I least expected it. I mourned and will always every now and then mourn her. But I'm glad she doesn't have to suffer from cancer anymore. But my heart goes out to you. Stay strong Sis. Keep up the work you are doing.

Hello Ashely, I am so sorry to hear of your father passing. I've lost both of my parents also. I still missed them. Some days more than others. I was living in other states when they died. However, they both lived full lives, and I was able to attend both funerals which brought me some closure. I read my Bible every day. It not only brings me comfort in losing parents, but comfort in life period. Even simple scriptures such as the 23rd Psalms has brought me so much comfort and peace. Maybe, you would give it a try, maybe you do already. I pray for the best for you and your daughters. By the way, I lived aboard for almost 2 years. I moved back to the states this year and bought a house. I must admit, I don't miss living abroad..........Peace....Len

My family had to rush fly from Texas to Joburg. It cost an arm and a leg getting 4 ppl over here last minute and during covid prices. I am a nomad myself and was able to make it here before them. 1 thing I learnt is always always always have your “in case of emergency flight money” it’s not money for anything else except needed to book a “I need this flight in the next hour” type of savings. Travel nomad’d through the pandemic, and emergency funerals. For any travel nomads it’s a definite non negotiable fund you need to set aside
