everybody had fights they "won" where they clearly lost. GSP had like 2 or 3. Hendricks was as clear as Reyes lol then GSP ran away cause USADA came into the UFC at only 32 only to come back for one fight against one of the worst champions ever in Bisping who only got there over a robbery win against washed Silva leg break. Might sound strange but I actually think Stephen Thompson could pose a decent threat to Leon. Leon has shown that he is an amazing wrestling and grappling defence (and some cases offence) against two of the best welterweight wrestlers in Usman and Colby. I just don’t see how Belal or Shavkat could introduce anything that Leon hasn’t seen before. Stephen on the other hand has elite level striking which we haven’t seen in a recent Leon opponent. Don’t get me wrong, Leon himself is a very technical striker and I’d still put money on him winning but stylistically I think Stephen could be one of his greater challenges

I sounded really bizarre but that is only an option. Moreover Jon really overlook some of his opponents and gets into trouble. He would be cautious against someone dangerous but not someone considered easy.

Might be a controversial take considering both fights happened already but I think Olivera and Aljo are still the toughest matchups for Islam and O’Malley However, that depends on if you believe Olivera would make adjustments and if Aljo would just…follow his original gameplan and not box with O’Malley. On Aljo’s end, people severely underestimate him as a striker. His boxing offense and defense may not be the best, but Aljo’s kicking game is nasty. Not necessarily in terms of finishing power obviously, but it works perfectly for his style. Heavy pressure and high output offense. Even on the feet, Aljo beat O’Malley in R1 by staying outside of boxing range and throwing kicks, in which O’Malley actually said his legs were hurting after only like, 6 minutes of fighting with a fraction of that being Aljo’s kicks. Another round or 2 like that, O’Malley’s footwork and movement is gone and then Aljo could go in for successful takedowns since he’s a volume shooter anyways. He’d shoot 20+ to land 1 As for Olivera, I believe he underestimated Islam‘s striking and top grappling game. Olivera is a wizard on bottom/in guard so he probably assumed Islam wouldn’t test him. He got tested and Islam passed. But I think a more prepared Olivera would be able to make it competitive
