In the Khabib vs tibau fight (UFC 148) ring control was the most important factor in a decision along side damage and that’s why Khabib won (he controlled the cage way more)

The scoring system for khabib vs tibau was different, i did score it 2-1 khabib after rewatching. Also for silva, honestly, his first chael fight was his worst performance, dont let the greatest comeback of all time blind you from that fact that he couldn't do anything for 24 minutes straight, outclassed in EVERY department.

In regards to tibau vs khabib, Khabib dealt more damage and controlled the octogon and the pace. Tibau landed one knee and 2 takedowns that amounted to nothing. It was a close fight but you cant give a fight to a guy for landing one knee and a few pitter patter jabs with his back against the cage the whole fight. Also keep in mind ring control was a much more important aspect of scoring at the time. Close fight but on no planet does tibau deserve to win the guy wasnt even trying to fight.

@pingu6028 he landed more jabs sure, but if you watch it again you'll see khabib landed more powershots especially exiting the clinch and the comentary team completely ignored them. Not to mention khabib ended every round with a flurry. The faces of the fighters tells the story, tibau's was red and he looked ready to pass out while khabib looked no worse than when the fight started. More damage, more ring control, more aggression and simply showed up to fight. Khabib by decision or mayyybe a draw but def no Tibau victory thats crazy talk.

Yup, Volk took big shots from Holloway in 2nd fight, got dropped still recovered very fast. Mendes dropped Volk too but Volk recovered fast again. Volk has very good chin.

DJ avenged it twice like you say like GSP vs serra, So I think dominick cruz was a worse L because they never fought again. Great video.

I think you should have only included fights that happened within their main division. It's not fair to expect a guy like Volkanovski to move up in weight and perform just as good. Also, Demetrious Johnson's fight happened in another promotion that has different rules (like knees to ground opponents) and practices (minimum hydration levels) than the UFC.

Volk is not small guy he is weight bully at 145 he used to weigh 200+lbs . he should be fighting WW 170 or 155 at most. Rules were different when Khabib and Tibau fought. I also do think Khabib won that fight based off the criteria back then.

I rewatch the John Jones versus Dominic Reyes fight the other day, and I noticed that John blocks a lot of what Don is throwing could easily be misconstrued for a land, or a significant strike when only part of it is actually making contact with Jones

I believe the difference is, Khabib wasn't in his prime while fighting Tibau, that was Khabib's 2nd UFC fight in USA only while traveling from Russia. Inexperienced Khabib struggled vs stylistic nightmare experienced prime Tibau. While Jones was in his prime as usual fighting in his home country USA with crowd cheering for him.

Tibau being on steroids is a non-argument. Everyone at the elite level was and is on steroids, including Khabib who was on Meldonium and testosterone his whole career, and just as much a weight bully in his final UFC run. Islam is repeating the formula now too, even failed an IQ test for meldonium earlier in his career, its the Dagestani EPO, all of them are on it, so if that makes your wins a NC then everyone Islam and Khabib beat in the last 5-6 years are overturned to a NC.

Literally every athletic prospect in the Dagestan region is put on a regimen of Test + Meldonium from their teenage years onward to try to produce olympic wrestlers, and now MMA fighters. Khabib's worst performance for me is Al Aquinta, he took the fight on short notice, and Khabib was the dominant guy, he should have finished him easily. (Gleison was the old experienced guy vs the new one, so I think it is a little justified). Also were is BJ Penn, one of the few to put GSP in danger, won ww title and also fought against Lyoto Mashida. He had a 7 losing streak but wow this guy was the best at his prime.

Nobody can tell me Jones didn’t lose that fight.

I wouldn't say Jon had a bad performance. It was just the mixture of Jon struggling with people who share his stature and LHW fighters getting better with time. If Jon stayed in the division he would've presumably lost to people like Jan, Jiri and Ankalaev who are better than Reyes by a long shot

If it happens more than one time in a row, chances are you're no longer in your prime and are aging out. The proof is in the pudding. Jones looked lethargic against Santos and Reyes, his takedowns especially. Even in his win against Gane (the easiest fight for him at HW), he looked like he was moving in slow motion on the feet.

Khabib is the only lightweight in the history of the UFC that can't ever be beaten, his aura of invincibility was the strongest out of any UFC fighter. So Khabib controlled the fight by a mile by being taken to the ground twice and hugging the cage for most the fight? I’m also confused about you saying Khabib damaged his face to a pulp. Most of Kahbibs shots were pillow-fisted slaps or straight up misses. I don’t even think Khabib lost the fight and I am the biggest Khabib Stan around, but to say he controlled Tibau easily for 3 rounds and beat his face to a pulp is just not true and requires a rewatch from you.
