Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Welcome to the 5th episode of our brand new documentary TV series - The Handmade Jewellers!
In this short series premiering here each week, live on KZread, come on a journey of discovery with me, Jessica Rose, in which I meet five talented jewellers who are creating and selling their work, building their own businesses.
We get a tour of their workshops and a look at the tools they love! Plus they teach me a new jewellery making skill.
In Episode 5, I talk to jeweller Sima Vaziry about her jewellery making journey, how she got into the industry and ended up with her own boutique. Sima uses a lot of metal clay in her designs and has also had her work sold at the British Museum for over a decade.
You can learn more about Sima here www.simavaziry.com/

I love this, I took a jewelry class 47 years ago. I have been in the medical 30+ years. I’m 62 now and taking care of my mum because she had a stroke last year. Although my mum had the stroke it brought me back to jewelry design. I did quit medical for now because at the time my mum a job didn’t mix. I love love jewelry making makes my heart happy because the possibilities of jewelry making is endless.

I love how Sima shows how despite having a disability, she continued to build upon her business and made it a success, too many of us with disabilities give up or are stopped from following our dream but she’s such an inspiration, she’s given me the encouragement I need to continue with my metal clay. Metal clay helps my physical and mental health, it should be encouraged just like Sima is doing, she’s so inspiring ❤️ x

During my four weeks off sick with a broken ankle and fluid on my elbow, I got round to watching this episode. The inspirational chat with Sima about why she transitioned to working with metal clay has made me think about my own plight. She is a very positive lady and has given me a lot of ideas to follow on up with.

Fantastic final episode. Sima's journey and knowledge is very inspirational and her jewellery is beautiful. I'm loving and envious of Sima's organisation of her multi-functional workspace. Great discusion around working with clients/customers especially when dealing with a product where no one is the same (gems). Wonderful that she has clearly had a successful first and second careers and the second later in life despite set-backs, very encouraging. Need more episodes please.

I love that Sima talks about switching careers and taking risks. She didn’t change herself to fit other people’s expectations and I’m sure that’s why her clients choose her and return to buy. Your customer wants to know your story and share the journey.

How amazing to have collections in the British museum what a dream! I've just started my metal clay journey again after an accident in which I couldn't use my hands for 2 months. It's so good to see someone running a jewellery business from a small space. It's inspiring to see that it can be done from a single desk (plus lots of innovative storage!). Aspirational, but for a lot of us, more realistic than yearning for a dedicated workshop!

The whole series was a bit disappointing. It is nice to hear about the jewelers and their businesses. However, it is boring to listen to someone talk about herself/himself for an hour and watch her/him rummage through drawers and personal items. I wanted most of the viewing time spent hearing about the artists' making process with an indepth demonstration

It is an art form and the journey is just as important as the method. I guess if you want to learn the academy is there for pay for in-depth demonstrations 😊
