The guy said there was a cellar hole way out there and I found it but

Ойын-сауық

When somebody tells you that there is a cellar hole you can detect way out in the woods you have to go looking for it. I hiked 40 minutes out there reading the landscape history to find where this old homesite would have been. Only a few rock walls cutting through the now forest show us people were working the land hundreds of years ago. Finding cellars holes like this one is a bit tricky. Just a small impression in the ground with some stones lining the edges that you could only see within 5o feet of it. I did some metal detecting with my Fisher F19 and all I could dig up where old square nails and a bit of pottery. I can confirm it was a homesite most likely from the 1700s but the places was quiet , no relics at all to be found. Not much you can do about that, it had to be checked. Then I spent the rest of the day exploring and following the rock walls and enjoying the hike in the forest.

Please don't hesitate to post each trek you take to bring us the great content you do. Doesn't matter if successful or frustrating, we're walking right there beside you hoping for finds with every swing too! Sometimes things just aren't where we dug 😖. Most times I just didn't dig in the right spot, (so my daughter tells me) 😁

It was a lead. The weather was good. It was area unknown to you. Happily for us, you had to go. Of course I wish it had turned out differently, but I surely appreciate your effort!

Charlie you comment that the downed pine is a monster…but can you imagine what the first white men in the area thought about how huge those trees must have been?!??
