The Gunfighter | A Short Film by Eric Kissack (narrated by Nick Offerman)
Фильм және анимация
In a small town in the old west, a lone and weary gunfighter enters a saloon. As he walks through the room surrounded by the people of the town, a voice begins narrating the scene, telling us exactly who this gunfighter is. But unlike every classic western to use the
narrator trope, the characters in this film can hear the voice.
This omniscient narrator quickly begins divulging the deepest, darkest secrets of the people in the saloon. He exposes infidelity, homosexuality, prejudice and even a bit of bestiality. As the story unfolds it becomes evident that the voice is a bloodthirsty bastard that wants nothing more than to see the people of the town kill each other in a needless gunfight.

I forgot the technical name of it but this is a strategy used in theatres and the cinema. You portray an ideology in a foreign setting, so that people can judge that ideology objectively. Because, if you portray it in a relatable setting, people can take it personally and their judgement will be biased. I like this one better than the typical hollywood movie, where they think simply casting women or colored people as the pratogonist will make a change.

Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Congratulations on a job well done by all members of the cast and crew. This is perfect filmmaking. Special kudos to the film composer, Paul Thompson.
This is a brilliant piece of work and I remember having seen it 6 years, or so, ago. Quentin Tarantino would have been proud of this production. I wish we knew the name of the geniuses who conceptualised, created, directed, produced and acted in this marvel.
This video popped up in my feed today and I am so glad it did...freaking awesome!
Finally, the youtube algorithm produces a recommendation worth the time it took to watch it.
This was just a genius piece of work. I can honestly say this has been my favorite short film so far. The writer(s) of this film are nothing short of geniuses. But I'm pretty sure the narrator knew I was going to comment this.

This led me to searching short films, look up “I’m You Dickhead” it’s pretty damn funny.
Must have watched this twenty times over the last few years. Every now and again KZread throws it up and I go..."OK ; lets watch it one more time."
Simply a work of art. It's not easy to find one word to sum it up.... But I'll give it a try... Fascinating... Awesome work.
Words fail me, that was one of the best 8 minutes I've spent watching anything!! Truly take a bow y'all earned it! 😆😅🤣 I can't recall seeing a short so perfectly breaking the, 4th wall. Hell I'm not sure quite what to call it...oh wait I know AWESOME!
Without a doubt the best short film ever! Finally a KZread video where I actually didn't wish for that 8 minutes back - frikken hilarious! Make a similar full length feature film please!

phuque2 ‚Stranger than Fiction‘ is similar to this and it’s a proper movie and also really good.

i agree, its a great short film..but this concept hardly would work on a full length film, i think

Kinda reminds me of a less romantic A Million ways to Die in the West.
He liked the film so much that first thing he did in his late night KZread session is to find the film leave like. "Yes, I did!". He said in accent of characters in movie. Unsuccessfully.
To this day I use the phrase "Now, here's the thing about THAT" wherever I can. Masterpiece in every way.
