I saw him twice on this tour. Once in San Antonio and the next night in Corpus Christi. The AC was out in Corpus and people were passing out. Don't know how he played through the heat. They had to grab people and bring them up on the stage to take them in the back for medical. He opened for Cheap Trick at both shows. S.A. had Axe as the first band but Corpus didn't.

He has written and produced. He produced some Celine Dion stuff. I think he wrote something for Bon Jovi, and even wrote a Clay Aiken hit.
You should do Saga's "On The Loose." It was the theme song for me back in the day when I ran with an awesome group of guy friends!!! I think a fun reaction theme would be doing performances off of the t.v show "The Midnight Special". All live, no auto tune. The sound might not be the best, but the performances were amazing! Aldo Nova ( Aldo Caporuscio) was Canadian, but the rest of the band members were from the SF Bay area, including my friend David Sikes who is playing bass guitar here, and who later went on to join the group "Boston" in the late 80's and early 90's.
From around the same time period as this song, you guys would really like "On the Loose" by Saga. It has a solo on the keys like you have never heard.

One of the many great musicians to come from the Great White North. This was his only Top 40 hit in the US, but "Monkey On Your Back" was a very...interesting song of his that I remember from my youth. "Foolin' Yourself" was another good one. And for no reason at all, I'd like to recommend another one hit wonder from the early 80s - "I Want Candy" by Bow Wow Wow. Great summer song.

Ah! Aldo Nova! Canadian? Yes. But a long-time friend of the guys in Bon Jovi -- from their days in the New Jersey/New York/Philadelphia clubs.
There's so many other awesome songs he does. He is also coming out with a new album sometime this year. One of my all time time fav 80s songs.
I saw Aldo Nova as the opening band for Blue Oyster Cult. Amazing musician he only hired a band for tours he played every instrument in the studio. I thought this was just a catchy pop tune with a great hook till I checked out the lyrics. Pretty effin dark.
One of my favorite tunes!! Played it all the time in high school.
RECORD FACT: The single goes right into the song. The album version had that long intro.
Aldo wrote some of the best ballads ever! “Ball And Chain”, “Can’t Stop Lovin’ You”, “Its Too Late”, “Someday”, “Heart To Heart”, “Foolin’ Yourself”, and “Under The Gun” are all must hear songs!

@@JordanHiser yes, I think I mentioned that somewhere on this comment string. Aldo wrote the main guitar riff on “Blaze Of Glory” and gave it to Jon Bon Jovi. Later Jon returned the favor and released Aldo’s album Blood On the Bricks on his (Jon’s) own record label, Jamco Records.
Aldo Nova-"Monkey On Your Back", Helix- "Rock You", The Bottle Rockets-"Radar Gun" , War- "Four Cornered Room", Green Jello "Three Little Pigs", Allen Sherman "Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah". There are so many great older songs.
Aldo was an accomplished producer too. He did a lot of work with Celine Dion. This was his biggest hit but a few of my favorites are Under The Gun, See The Light , and a little on the slower side Your My Love
I was in college in the early 1980s and rock and roll was nearly dead. Hard rock stations where I lived in the Syracuse/Binghamton NY area had changed their format to soft rock. My first degree was at Cornell University and their radio station played an eclectic mix of music, though hard rock was rare. Thank G-d for Canada who provided us with some of the best kick-a$$ hard rock in the early 1980s, and thank Cornell's radio station (WVBR) for introducing this music to me. In addition to this song by Aldo Nova, you might check out "Burning Heart" by the band Vandenberg, "Fight the Good Fight" by Triumph, "Lunatic Fringe" by Red Rider and "Heavy Metal Love" by Helix, not to mention Loverboy, who gave us a couple of great albums from this era with such bangers as "Turn Me Loose", "Take Me To the Top" among others.

My high school days this is the song I'd use to determine my car stereo. Set up right, the helicopters would begin on drivers side & flow around the interior. Just a great rock tune, perfect for cruising in my 72 Barracuda on Friday & Saturday nights! (2nd song to test would be "Sultans of Swing")😎

I love Aldo Nova, born in my own city of Montreal, Canada!! He has many good songs, in 1991 he put out the record Blood On The Bricks, lots of good songs on this album, Blood On The Bricks the title song is a great rocker and he has some nice ballads too, Ball And Chain, Someday (probably my favorite), Hey Ronnie (Veronica's Song). He also worked with Bon Jovi in the past and was a touring musician for Celine Dion for many years too. He's great guitar player.
This song was in heavy rotation on MTV when I hit a self-imposed rough patch in my life. "Can't you see what this crazy life is doing to me...". It took me a few years to get myself together. Thank you God for not giving up on me.
Also Nova is an all-around extremely talented musician, songwriter and producer. He also co-wrote and produced for Celine Dion where he won a Grammy for work on the album Falling Into You - her biggest selling album.

Oh man, I remember when this song came out, I loved it so much and our radio stations in my town were very very stingy with it! I was always just waiting and waiting for that helicopter sound to come in and let me know they were going to finally play it and maybe I can record it on the cassette, when we couldn’t afford music that was the best way to get your own sounds the way you wanted them, you had to wait for the radio…have all your buttons in line and all your tapes in line ready to go at any minute lol…and they just never played this one enough… I guess it made it that much sweeter whenever they did play it, glad you guys got to it and glad you enjoyed it! 🤘🏼💚✨😎

Love this song. Thank you for the reaction to it. Listening to this song with its drawn out intro with spacey sounds reminded me of another song from 1979... Billy Thorpe "Children of the Sun" The intro is kinda strange (about 45 seconds) then it has a slow lead in with guitars (about a minute) before the singing starts. That song is part of a space opera album Billy released. The album was re-issued in 1987 with 3 more songs added to it so you might see two dates for the song but they are the same song at 6:44.
So back in 1982 or 1983 I was 11 or 12. On a trip to the beach my dad took me to see a laser light show. This was the song playing to the laser lights! Lol! We thought that was SO cool back then! That's why I love this song so much! That and it really is a banger! 🤣
(sigh) the early 80's... I was in my late teens, we were all listening to these songs on the radio, our lives were ahead of us, the future was bright.... and I'll leave it there!

They never really grabbed me with much of their follow-up music (some was OK, but nothing stellar), but they made their mark with this one. Hard to believe that was 30 years ago!
anytime you see a guy dressed in a leopard skin outfit, get out of a helicopter, with a lazer shooting guitar, you know shits about to get real
Love this artist .

I agree. Aldo’s the best !
I loved Aldo Nova back in the day! Thank you so much for reacting to this song. I was getting ready to recommend this song to you, but you beat me to it!
Whoa! Now you’re getting into the “New Girl Now” by Honeymoon Suite and “No More Lies” by Schon & Hammer type sound !!!
If you want to watch a fun, fun video, as well as listen to good music, check out another band / song from the same era. The band is The Kings. The song is "This Beat Goes On/Switching to Glide". But be careful....it might have you 'chair dancing'.

I agree! My cousin recorded (some of) their first album off the radio. Still a fave. Amazon Beach isn't quite as good, but it's good. Record label didn't work with them well, and gave it no publicity.
Ahhh a hometown boy. I'm from Montreal, Quebec (Canada as you said). Such a talent. He and Celine Dion had a tune together, in French though, but I cannot recall the name of it.
Also a fun fact, one of the best show of my life was New Years Eve 1991 going into 1992, Aldo Nova in a club in Montreal called La Brique, what a night, i still have awesome memories from that show, i was 18 years old at the time.
I just love in the song "powder pleasure in your nose tonight" and then makes that "snuff" sound. Awesome sounding 80's rock tune!! Thanks for reacting to it. The pure audio version probably sounds better than this video version. Just saying...

Come on! All three at once? Cut them some slack for processing time! 😆 🤣 😂 jk! Great suggestions! 🥸👍
Canada's own gem! Montreal. This album was like a greatest hits. The second album, Subject - Aldo Nova was superb as well
One of the very first MTV videos. He is still rockin too. Oh I love that shirt too.
I suggested this one a long, long, time ago....Underrated band. I would suggest "Monkey on your Back" for the next AldoNova song. If you liked this you might check out Saga "On the Loose" or April Wine "Sign of the Gypsy Queen". 🤘🤪🤘80's Rock!

I agree, Aldo’s “Fantasy” was a huge hit in 82’ and he toured everywhere.
This was my jam when I was 12 or 13 . Walking around with a boom box on my shoulder. Ha ha 😂 good times.
Wow, what a memory. Thanks. Foolin' Yourself, was another. Love you Canadians.
This song was a big hit when it came out. Remember it blasting thru the speakers with the lights flashing at my first dance in jr. high. What good times.
Oh! Canada. Aldo Nova comes through town 1 or 2 times a year. As for the band April Wine, they still go out on tour (playing tonight nearby). Notable Songs by April Wine: Roller Say Hello I Like To Rock Sign of Gypsy Queen Bad Side of the Moon Oowatnite Rock N' Roll Is Vicious Game (Ballad) 🎸🎸🎸😎

I like to add, Before the dawn, Silver dollar, Get ready for love, Tonight, Ladies man, 21st Century schizoid man and Crash and burn also.
This guy only put out a few albums but he is a famed producer he has won a producer of the year Grammy I think three times including for Celine Dion’s Falling Into You Album. A great Canadian artist.
One of my favorite guitar rock sons of the 80s (very early 80s)!
