I'm glad you've made this book review. There are a couple of books out there that have way too much praise and even coming to the point of being "essencial books" in the themes they supposedly cover, but are in fact very misleading, filled with common misconceptions and quite essentially-poor. This is one of such books. I think you have had a great deal of courage to make this review, it has to be said, in my opinion. I, for one, have read many books concerning Witchcraft and I get that the very first book we read on the matter always seems to be the best we have ever read (because we did not read anything else before), but as we start to read more and come about other authors, some of the books that led us into this journey of knowledge start to become obsolete and outdated. The Green Witch, as you said, is a good book if people never read anything about Witchcraft before, but even for beginners it's not a good book as it creates a base of knowledge not at all right and useful, which then all this knowledge shall eventually have to be forgotten because it neither portrays the historical background of witchcraft nor its essence in practice. I had the same feeling with a recent book I've read (concerning Hedge Witchcraft), which is extremely outdated at this point, and express very erroneous ideas, and if this books is the first one people beginning this journey will read, well, they will be very misinformed and start to construct very weak foundations of knowledge. So thank you Theresa for this book review, truly. I think it's extremely useful to avoid certain ideas and common misconceptions. This was a very good review. Cheers! All the best to you!

Thank you, I was unsure if I should do the review or not because the books has so much praise I was afraid to get some negative feedback. Glad it wasn't the case and several people actually reached out on Instagram telling me they felt the same thing after reading it!😅 To me it feels too much like a recipe book for spells and all of that, rather than a guide like it promises to be. I feel people should never stick to one holy book and take everything in it as 100% accurate or to be followed, witchcraft, spirituality, should be a personal journey and construction. Reading different books, different sources...being careful with misinformation and/or dangerous information will always be part of learning no matter the subject 😔

I had this book in my cart for the longest time and I always backed down ... then I read a small PDF of a page somehwere and realized it truly is not what is promised on the cover. And your review confirmed that to me. Just your introduction alone. Thank you

Hi Eira! Thank you for the feedback! 😊 I also had the book in my wishlist/cart for the longest time until I decided to take the risk, I wasn't too happy about it but at least I only bought this one, as initially I intended to save up and buy the entire collection from the same author 😅 Glad I could help you make up your mind 💚✨

I was happily surprised to see that you’d done a book review! I really appreciated your honest opinion about the book, and found the little tidbits of information you shared very helpful, I had no idea about what rosemary could do! You never know what you don’t know! (That’s a favourite saying of my husband). I would love it if you did more book reviews in the future 👍🏽 Especially the books that you find are very helpful, or have helped you learn about crystals, herbs, etc.

Thank you so much for the feedback, I was really unsure about doing this review, especially because this book is a bestseller and it gets a lot of praise...I was afraid my not so positive review wouldn't be well received 😅 With herbs I always advise to double check before using, better be safe than sorry 😊 I'll definitely consider doing more book reviews in the future, or at least share some of my go-to books about different subjects! Sorry it took me a while to reply dear Olivia, but thank you for all the support 💚✨

Hey Theresa,I've never read that particular book,I like honest reviews, unfortunately I find many modern takes on "paganism/witchcraft" more politically minded as apposed to based on the traditional ways of the cunningman (or woman😉) .....as to herbology I find it best to research the various brews and tinctures first and adjust as you see fit but care must always be taken people underestimate how strong even common herbs such as valerian or wormwood can be .....if herbology interests you a good book to have on your shelf is prescriptions for natural cures by James E Balch,MD and Mark Stengler,ND.....as to witchcraft the blacktoad by Gemma Gary or treading the mill by Nigel G Pearson are interesting..... good review all the best, take care

A falta de avisos nas plantas, que é a parte que mais me interessa, é um bocado perigoso para quem, por alguma razão, não for investigar mais um pouco. Em resumo, é uma versão ultrazipada do assunto e tem uma capa gira 🌱

I think exactly the same, there is more information in those filler notes in magazines, and if they recommend complementary books, it would be better to buy them from this one in particular. 😅

Thank you for the feedback! I hope my video was of some help 😊 and you are right, some articles even in magazines or online can be way more complete in terms of information than some parts of this book which is a pity 😅

Then you wouldn't be interested in the other two in the series, The House Witch and The Witch's Book of Self Care.

Hi! I'll probably skip other books of this series, from what I've researched after reading this one, they are all very similar with the type of content or even the depth of the information. If I find them with a really good discount sale someday I might get them, because I'm not one to judge a book without reading it first 😅

Good afternoon Theresa, the disappointment is so obvious in your face. The reason that the author refers to the "goddess" is because they have heard about Gaia, the Ancient Greek personification of the Earth, without probably understanding any depth of meaning other than it being a female deity. Having said that I believe that we all (as spirits) take what we need for our progression in our current lives, and some need to connect to religion. I can recommend a book called Wild Magic by Danu Forest. Before anyone buys a book please look up a review, if possible, and see if you really feel that the book is right for you. It is not a case of one size fits all, a book that is right for me may not be suitable to everyone but the book Wild Magic is described as "Celtic Folk Traditions for the Solitary Practitioner", and I am sure it can be found on Amazon and possibly Wordery. Take care and stay safe.

I am so tired of people bitching about gender....get over it. In 2024, we have had enough. It's too heavy.
