    Derek Zambrano thanks so much for the encouragement buddy! Don’t worry I’m in the process of filming the latest review just got a little sidetracked with a tournament that I’ve been playing in, so all my play time went towards that the past couple weeks. Hoping to have something out next week for ya!

    I have been using hyper g for 3 years now with 48 pounds. Great feel and ball pocketing. Good for 12-15 hours of heavy hitting. After that it breaks which is fine with me since I play everyday. Excellent spin to keep the ball in court. The feel is a little muted and it's not a stiff string. Power is good but it does require good strokes, no free power from this string. Also great color.

    I have been playing with the Solinco Hyper G since June. I use a Yonex Ezone Rally 275gr. It is light, I know. The stringer strang it at 24 kg, which is very tight. I should have told him to string it waaay lower. Anyway, in my case, at first it felt terrible in all flat shots. I got no ball pocketing and no feedback from the stringbed, whatsoever. The worst part was return of serves, flat forehands and the fact that I could not put my own power into the flat shots. On the other hand, and as it got softer after 5-6 1.5hour groundstroke sessions, it provides tons of top spin, if you have a could technique. So, I should have it strung at 20-21 kg at most, since my racquet is light. + amazing for top spin, slices, serve (flat, slice, kick) - very bad for flat shots if strung in high tension

    I have kept the same frame (Babolat Pure Aero Plus) and auditioned hybrid combinations. I started with VS Gut in the mains and RPM Blast in the crosses. I moved to VS / ALU Power Big Banger and that was a little better. I just changed to VS / Hyper G and I think it is the perfect combination. I still get nice pop from my mains without sacrificing feel (RPM and ALU are not plush at all). The spin is just as good (if not better) than the others. I string at 55 lbs (main) / 53 lbs (cross) but may try a slightly lower tension the next time I string one of my racquets. I love HyperG!!!!!

  • @EvokeTennis

    Great comment and info right there on those specific combos, I'll have to refer back to it when I try a gut hybrid. Hyper-g definitely has more of an elastic component to it to get more of that pocketing and plush feel out the gut. If you need even more comfort you could try lower tension, it might be very powerful, but worth it if your arm needs it. Glad you found a good combo you like!

    Hey! What tension do you recommend with this Hyper G in babolat Pure Drive (looking for extra control and spin)?

  • @EvokeTennis

    @EvokeTennis

    3 жыл бұрын

    Depends on experience level and if any history of arm/wrist problems. A pure drive is already a spinny and control racket, and hyperg has a ton of spin at any tension so I'd say around 50 lbs. 45 if you need more comfort and 55 if comfort isn't an issue for you. A lower tension string actually can get more spin, however less control so you'll have to find the balance of those two. Let me know if you need more information happy to help!

  • @tennisisphysical

    How was the comfort? I play Black Code 17g @ 36lbs now. Tour Bite Soft had too much power on ground strokes and the string moves. Although I did like it on the serve, massive kick and good speed. Am considering trying Hyper G next. I typically restring after 6-7 hours of play. #govegan #compassion

  • @EvokeTennis

    Kevin Rubink comfort was better than expected but you could feel it starting to fade after a few good sessions. You’re right TB Soft lacks that slickness and the strings move after a couple matches on the 18, not as bad on the 17. That’s a great video idea actually - Hyper-g at 35 lbs! I’d say go for it and try it out it’ll have big power! Thanks for the suggestion and chiming in - great to have you!!

    This is a great review. I've been playing this string for two years and I would concur with your comments. It works best in the mid to high 40's, and I wouldn't play it past 52 lbs, as it would become really uncomfortable and potentially cause arms problems (most polys would at high tensions). As for the gauge, I would definitely go with a 17 and up in tighter string beds (e.g. my Phantom Pro 93P 18x20), but come down or 16 in open string patterns (e.g. Phantom Pro 93P 14x18 or 100P 16x18). Intermediate patterns like the 16x19 in a Yonex DR98, I found it worked best in 16L.

  • @EvokeTennis

    @EvokeTennis

    4 жыл бұрын

    Johnny Guitare hey very good point about the open patterns. It’s crazy my ai98 next to a pure aero, both 16x19, the pure aero is wayy more open so yeah probably don’t need 17 in that. Just picked up a reel of this and will start playing around with different setups - just have to restring very often if full bed on hyper-g

    @@fingersm I don't find that a 16x19 pattern is especially open vs. a 16x18 or 14x18. As for your comment on the 93, I think sheer idiocy is criticising people for their preferences, which are dictated by their style of play. Let me guess: you play a 100 sq. in. Babolat frame, because your technique is not good enough to play with anything else?

    Thanks brotha glad to have you here. I personally haven't tried 18g yet, but I was actually eyeing the 19g to try! In your case I would play it on the super safe side while you are coming back and still finding your form and strokes because it can take some time. So IF you think you are ready I personally would go for the least aggressive and most comfortable like 19g. Hyper-G and other polys are notorious for people over playing on it and reporting discomfort. I would take your time and be ok with breaking some thinner gauge string and slowly working your way back into more normal stuff.

    assuming it's hyper g? Well it's addicting for sure because you can really flick and curve the ball around, and it will generally go back in compared to other strings. Now when looking at all poly string they play completely different and there is a huge spectrum. Hyper g can be a good starting place because it's known for softness. Depending on your racket setup and strokes I would look to string it around 45 lbs. Just keep tabs on how many hours you put on it because they aren't intended to last all that long. And keep tabs on aches and pains, you generally need to hit cleaner with poly because it's not as forgiving on mishits. Enjoy!

I would first try a different full bed of a multi like Sensation comfort - cheap and so comfortable so you can establish a base of what comfort actually is. Then look at your tension and racket setup, and your strokes - how is everything feeling now? Only then would I move on to using Hyper-G as a CROSS so you're still getting comfort from a multi main. depends on your strokes and how often you're willing to restring it, but yeah it does sound good. I've been playing on TB Soft 18 at 43-45 lbs on an ai98 recently.

    S0D4P0P - hmm I actually have a pure drive here I should try that out! PD is pretty stiff so it could do well in that frame especially in lower tension like 45 lbs. you’ll really get some extra stretch and action out of the string in that frame!!

  • @arnaoukh

    If you play with spin, this is a very good string for few hours. But if you play with any type of flatish shots, then it is a horrible string. Extremely launchy on flat shots and very inconsistent across the bed. Surprisingly, it plays much much better at lower tension but only for a couple of hours and if you only take big chops.

    zachary wan hey I’d have to say Tour Bite 17, and ultra cable 17 for the stiffer feel, then hyper-g 17 and Tour Bite Soft 18 for the softer feel. All depends on your strokes and how much comfort you need to make it worthwhile. Good question though👏🙏

    Thanks for watching brotha. Good to hear your thoughts cause you also hear people saying it's overpowered and too launchy - I strung it pretty low 43 lbs. Guess it all depends on frame, tension, strokes, weather, etc.

    tourbite or this string for competition college level?

  • @EvokeTennis

    @EvokeTennis

    4 жыл бұрын

    Mysteryboy0007 hey I’d have to say depends on if you prefer the power and pockety feel of Hyper, OR the crisper more direct feel of TB. How many hours would you prefer to get on it? TB better suited for longer hours where Hyper-g wears off quicker and has a sharp fade. Also a string breaker might be drawn towards TB. But I would experiment around with some different setups / gauges and find what you like best. I personally for my horrible playing style would go for hyper-g if I had to pick one just for the additional daily comfort

    43 lbs, damn thats loose man. Why do you like to string at such a low tension, don't higher tensions contribute to more spin and control?

  • @EvokeTennis

    @EvokeTennis

    4 жыл бұрын

    Dylan Fyle that’s not loose for a full bed of poly. Higher tension does give more control but gives less spin. Lower tension gives more spin because the string can stretch more. also, since spin is a component of control, this added spin is considered to add some control back in. I prefer lower tensions for the comfort it gives, but it’s all preference and depends on your strokes and game style 👍

  • @dylanfyle8907

    Vacation Tennis thanks for the insight. I just assumed that 43 lbs was really low because the racket tension spec on most of my rackets is like 45-60. But it makes sense that you could go lower in tension with a full bed of poly. Might try it myself👍

  • @EvokeTennis

    @EvokeTennis

    @@dylanfyle8907 you're totally right about the numbers on the racket, it's the sweet spot for it. I'd say the main reason is because the majority of players want to play with a more aggressive string and racket than they actually need, so you can counter that a bit by lowering the tension

    I play hyper G as hybrid with tension below 40 lbs. Its a spin and power monster. Just dont go from 50+ to 40 or less in one go. Reduce by 2 or 3 lbs each time and you wont even notice you droping string tension. I played 60 lbs 10 years ago and got reall problems with wrist and elbow and started to reduce. I endend up as low as 25 lbs as experiement but settled on 35 to 40 debending on temperature.
