Hi, this is from Hong Kong. I really love your string review videos - especially at the time of partial lock down in here (no more tennis and recreational actives!). I can see that how passionate, serious you are. You played dozens of game, sets, days and even weeks for just a single string review - instead of asking a few players to play a few games and finish the review with very nice comments. I would definitely try the CONFIDENTIAL string out and it would be great if you can also share your thoughts on hybrid strings in coming videos ! I hope your channel will blow up soon and I know you will.

@@EvokeTennis Its been a few weeks playing with the Ultra v3 and Solinco Confidential 17g. I can honestly say I think I finally found a replacement for my Wilson Juice / Tour bite set up. I strung the Confidential at 48lbs and it took a couple of matches to settle in. Now its grip and rip. Tons of spin, tons of kick - absolutely a great set up for a baseline bomber. Way better control at net (which the Juice always struggled with). Get ur hands on a v3!

You have an eye for film making. This is what pro short films look like. No idea if you work in the industry, but if not, they are missing a real talent. You reviews are excellent, the production and use of imagery, alongside the ideal music coupled with your soft tones just makes this so easy to watch and enjoy. It's almost like I'm not watching a string review. I am watching a tennis short film that grabs my attention and keeps me on the edge wanting more. Amazing. On to the review itself, you obviously found something in Confidential that I was missing! I hate the string lol. I was so excited to try it and when I did, I have never been more disappointed in a string except for when I tried Toalson Biologic 128 - if you ever get the chance to try that, just for fun, do it. I found Confidential not just muted, but dead. And when I say dead, I mean cremated and in ashes dead. I got no feedback from it at all - and that was in a hybrid with soft crosses. Can't imagine how it feels without something to soften it up. I tried it at two different tensions. In both cases, I found it dropped off a cliff after 2 hours of hitting. I do hit hard and I play with classic thin beam frames, which may be a factor in this, but man, was I disappointed!

First off thanks so much for your kind words, it means a lot during this slow time to keep on going at it and hear people like yourself enjoy it! This video was my favorite so far just with the strange times we were going through. Anyway, I've been bringing the camera everywhere I go and just shooting as much as possible to get better and been working on a couple new string reviews. Too bad it didn't work for you, I prefer the softer strings myself but thought it delivered an aggressive experience that I enjoyed. I was also coming off of Tour Bite and PTSG so was used to the stiffer strings - but never really wrapped my head around it. Thanks for the recommendation and please keep in touch!

Devara Zain I just listen to a lot of music and check if the song gets flagged. This channel is not monetized, you have to be at a certain level to be monetized. But yes it’s a very tricky thing because if you don’t check the song usage rights your video can be demonetized or taken down completely. I recommend using a service like epidemic to avoid the risk. But thanks I loved this song and it worked out this time 🙏

Confidential should be stiffer than ALU Power so I would stay away if your arm was hurting, definitely not a comfortable string. The most comfort I've found full bed is Tour Bite Soft which I play in 18g but 17 is pretty nice too, however tension maintenance is not good. Might be time to switch to a multi cross so you can get the arm back to full 100%

My rackets are the head speed MP (2019) could you please tell me which Gauge and tension would you recommend? Very cool to have someone from Portugal here! I'd have to say in general, Poly Tour Pro is softer and has a springier feel while Confidential is more aggressive by nature (when comparing to hyper-g) Confidential 18 gauge at a low tension 43lbs was perfect, but I'd be afraid to run it at higher tension for my daily setup. Where as PTP I would be ok running it at a higher tension. Man so many factors to consider like how long realistically do you want to keep it in for before restringing? I would have to say try them both, it'll be a fun experience

I then switched for solinco tour bite That I strung at 19kg , I happen to like tour bite better than hyper g but the problem is that it doesn’t last more than 10 hours until I break ! I ll be curious to try this confidential in 1,30 gauge of course ! How would u compare the confidential to the tour bite and wich one would u recommend for a player like me that love to string in the low 40 s with a game style based on topspin only ?

Olivier Bado man I wish I could break strings like you, it took me about 18 to break this 18g. Confidential was great at low tension I actually found it to be more comfortable than my TB test, however the TB was 17 gauge so it’s hard to say exactly. It does seem than confidential might be slightly more durable but i wouldn’t think it would get you too many more hours. Man I would love to hear how long it gets you and your experience with it. Definitely give it a go

very low tension for Hyper G 16 on PA 2019... I also use this setup - Hyper-G + PA 2019, and definitely those strings work better in range 23-25kg with. Soon i will check CONFIDENTIAL 1.30 but i lower tension to 22-23kg, coz those strings are a littel bit harder but i hope that they will give me more control on PA 2019.

It's a great string for spin, and quite comfortable on the arm for a poly. Tons of spin, but the downside is that it can be a bit unpredictable and the spin can be excessive to the expense of shot penetration. Just switched to Confidential 16 in my PCG 100 after trying it. I find it a bit more predictable than Hyper G, and get more penetration on my shots. It's still early days, but I like this string a lot. I did not notice much difference in terms of comfort, and the TW data backs this (stiffness of 222 for Confidential vs. 219 for Hyper G in 16 gauge). I have tried Tour Bite (too powerful and still), Revolution (too dead), Hyper G (great spin / somewhat unpredictable) and so far Confidential is my favorite string from Solinco. They've done a great job with it.

I also found it very predictable like you said and was able to play really good with it. I thought it felt noticeably stiffer than hyper-g but not necessarily uncomfortable in 18 gauge. Impressive string and great feedback and comment from you - thank you

@@EvokeTennis It's interesting that people would mention this string's stiffness. It's a bit stiffer than Hyper G, in the sense that it's not as mushy, but I wouldn't categorise it as a stiff poly, like 4G or Tour Bite.

@@johnnyguitar6697 In the video I went into it blind without researching so without knowing the numbers I definitely picked up on some stiffness coming through my muted racket at 43 lbs. At the same time the feeling was balanced with 18g. Whatever it was, it was a good combo!

@@EvokeTennis The TW string comparator doesn't have the data for Confidential 18, but it has the 16 (which is the gauge I now use in my PCG100) coming at 222 for stiffness vs. 219 for Hyper G 16 (which is what I used to play with). Seems about right.

Awesome video! I know there is many options but wondering for a recommendation on a poly string that won’t be the deadest string out there, give me more spin, and be somewhat arm friendly. I am a 4.0 player playing with head mlt 16g at 55lbs but have a hard time with hitting it over the baseline due to not enough spin/too much power. Your opinion would be appreciated thanks!

Hey Brandon we need to figure out why you are hitting long, first. You in theory should be able to adjust your strokes no matter the string or equipment. Your balls shouldn't even be close to going out under normal circumstances for a routine ball - what I mean is a routine groundstroke should be in by a safe margin and sometimes we have to dial back our flatness and get some more air under that ball to regain depth control. Yeah we all miss long sometimes when we go for it, but that should be the exception and should only be truly going for it when opportunity is right. SO we ask questions like are you trying to hit too flat on those specific ones, or was your shot selection too aggressive for that ball? Or, did you feel everything was good at first and now the string has degraded in performance causing the issue to expose itself more? Would love if you could send a video clip of you hitting so I can truly try to help. Short answer, I could actually recommend Confidential in 18 gauge because it has less power than TB, BUT it's def an aggressive string for daily use.

Gotcha, thanks a lot for the advice. Perhaps it really is me just going for it and forcing that aggressive powerful topspin type shot far too often especially when it is not the correct time to do so. Maybe the solinco confidential 18g could be something useful though. I know you said you could hit it just about as hard as u want and always found it staying in. Just wondering how uncomfortable that string is..

OK based on my personal prefs, numbers 4 and 3 would be confidential and TB, giving the edge to TB for it's pop. Number 2 would be Hyper-G for the power and relative comfort. Coming in at number 1 you guessed it - Tour Bite SOFT. 18g. Feels like gut to me compared to the others. Unexpectedly heavy balls coming from it, and mostly for the fact that I can hit for hours and hours and not feel a twinge in my arm with this string. I can be more reckless with it for this reason!
