The Green Knight: Dev Patel and Joel Edgerton on Playing Sir Gawain 17 Years Apart

ET’s Ash Crossan spoke with ‘The Green Knight’ stars Dev Patel and Joel Edgerton about playing the character of Sir Gawain 17 years apart. Edgerton played a very different take on Sir Gawain in the 2004 movie, ‘King Arthur.’ Edgerton also says it’s ‘amazing’ to reprise his role as Owen Lars in the upcoming ‘Star Wars’ series, ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi.’ ‘The Green Knight’ is in theaters July 30 from A24.

Hollywood is trying their best to make Timothy Chalamet the next massive star, but Actors like Dev Patel and Daniel Kaluuya deserve way more praise IMO. Amazing actors.

Daniel Kaluuya literally just won an Oscar!
It feels like Dev Patel gets closer to stardom, and the goal post moves beyond. Let's hope he can get there in the nearest future. #ET

The idea for adapting The Green Knight came to David Lowery while he was setting up a diorama of Willow action figures in his backyard.
This is the first thing I thought when I saw Joel on screen. He’s the only other person I know of that’s played Gawain on the big screen. A little tongue and cheek.
Loved Dev since Skins. So proud of him as an Asian!!! KILLING IT 💪🏻

I also found it strange that Joel played Gawain in another Arthurian movie, but this Green Knight movie was awful.
I used to love Joel Edgerton.... Joel, how the hell can you sleep at night, let alone spend your $$$$$ from the profit of this evil degrading abusive movie?? "The Stranger" ??? Look it up!! Did you ask permission from Bruce and Denise Morcombe?? Joel, you have twins how would you feel??? Why???
