yes fitgirls games are smaller since they have been "repacked" and a pirated game will run exactly like the paid version with the exception of no multiplayer of course.

I am truly grateful to hackers who enable us, people living in third world countries, to have access to games and culture in general. Often, cultural products are either too expensive for us to afford or simply not available. If today we have a window to the world, it is primarily thanks to them

as a Bulgarian seeing something like Voksi is actually wild. In Bulgaria police rarely gives a flying f for the people breaking the laws. "Some dude hit a kid with his car? Who cares! ". And seeing that they ACTUALLY did something about a CYBER criminalist IS WILD. Most Bulgarians can't even turn the PC on. Too much for my Balkan head.

i'm from balkan too and i can completely understand. i can't imagine police arresting someone for cyber crimes in my town, they can't even do FINGERPRINTING in my town, they have to send it to the capital. in the 21 century they have less than what police that investigated jack the ripper have. also same shit with "some dude hit a kid with a car", oh well lock him up for 5 years cause it was blatant murder and they have him on a platter otherwise they wouldn't even bother.

Actually the first to crack/bypass was a bulgarian from the group Revolt known as Voksi. The madlad even made a KZread video how he cracks denuvo 4 and got arrested. Video can still be found, but not from his channel, unfortunately. Also recently Skidrow said that he is Empress, which is actually unlikely.

That’s because American companies don’t do price region RIGHT! Tons of indie devs do ACTUALLY price there games properly, like lets say a indie game cost 10 USD in UsA. But in Mexico, that same game would cost 2 usd or less. That’s how indie devs price region, steam LEGIT makes it super easy for people to do that, but they don’t, cooperations DONT care. They don’t care if you make less than a first world country. They want you to spend your WHOLE paycheck on a single mid aaa game….. CRAZY thing is, indie devs make a ton of money in third world countries. I’m not joking, there number one sold places are in those countries. If devs don’t want there games to be pirated, FIX YOUR DAMN PRICES IN THOSE COUNTRIES

i think that how empress saw how much praise the pirating community gave her, it made her think she was on the path of godhood, thus making her ego and psychicologies into insane mesurements, she spent hours sitting at her desk writing code + pleasing the pirating community, and that what i think, slowly fried her brain into madness, but she is a double sided sword, a light too the pirating community, but also a downfall too the pirating community, she got heavily blinded by ego, but that ego also is what made her stride into further complex and harder games to crack, but thats my opinion on this story, all i hope is that she gets too her senses again but on the other side i wont give 2 flying fucks if she demands more money for pirating games, if thats the fate, then she is going to be banished by the pirating community, untill then we would find another person too pirate denuvo games, but who knows how long it would take, for another empress too rise among us pirate's. Other then that she has 2 paths, the path of redemption or a path of greed and lust.

I have nothing against the idea of paying her. People can pool in a few dollars each and actually support her work. People like Fitgirl could even try to use a 0.00001% of their donor funds and get access to Empress releases earlier (and boost her own release). This is a community effort that can flourish without player entitlement. Even pirates didn’t work for ‘free’. A few dollars just to support her and still release the game for free for those who can’t afford it is a good deal.

I work in cybersecurity and would say I'm know at least a little bit in reverse engineering. It cannot be overstated the amount of skill required for what people in the scene achieve. Great documentary too!

You can, non-US countries have different rules about piracy and most have none at all. This is what happened to The Piratebay, they had a hard time putting them in jail because IT IS NOT U.S. and the laws work differently in their land. You can get out and still walk the streets after getting your ass arrested but you still need to defend yourself in court to whatever they decided you're breaking into. The only difference is that The Piratebay didn't host, distribute, or sell any copyrighted materials.

That being said, it still seems odd to me that they would raid her if they didn't give a shit about piracy, and doubly odd that she didn't even try to hide the fact that she just continued to do the same stuff that got her raided in the first place. But funnily enough, I might still download cracked single player games after buying them. My laptop is 5+ years old with a mobile 1050 4gb GPU. Even if I buy a new PC or laptop, the ambient temperature is at least 28 Celsius. Gotta get rid of denuvo to boost game performance.

Piracy has only started to slow down slightly in the past couple years. Which is quite insane. Piracy has for most of the era been unstoppable to multi billion dollar companies. Remember GTA4 implementing several anti-piracy measures. Only for a clean cracked version to release the same day the game launched.

I guess the ability to single handily reverse Denuvo and having a neurotypical mind don’t go together.

It isn't unexpected that a lot of people, especially from first world countries, would mock or be mad at those who choose to get a pirated version of a game. All I can say is that life is very different in other parts of the world. Just saying.

Their being mad is really hard to justify or explain. Are they mad because the company they like is not getting that extra money? Hardly. They wouldn't get that money either way, as these people would simply not buy and play their games anyway due to financial situation. Are they mad because it is theft and therefore it's immoral? Hardly. Theft results in taking posession of someone's property. Piracy is cloning someone's property. The one being "robbed" (sarcasm) isn't even aware of it unless he actively seeks out online gossip and persecutes pirates. Therefore, equating piracy with theft is a delibarately ignorant thought process. Are they mad because these companies won't earn enough to make their favourite product better? These companies are billionaire giants, pirates hardly affect their business decision making and budgets. They are milking people harder each year because they feel like they can - and they are correct. The simple explanation is, it's just envy. Most humans are really pathetic, toxic creatures. They had to pay for the game and now feel they were cheated because some people managed to get it for free through piracy. Their "moralist" rants are just a facade for their jaundiced sense of what they perceive to be a social injustice. Every single person that goes on these "piracy bad" rants is just completely full of crap and I really pity their absolute non-existent levels of self-respect.

@@saudude2174 The amount of money TWW3 has made now has to be absolutely insane considering that you need the first two games to have playable factions I believe. Plus the DLCS, I've not done direct research on it but I've heard it adds up to over $300 to have the game fully unlocked. It still hasn't been cracked and a new Total war game is out. I'm losing my mind, I'll never spend that much money for a single game lol. The devs have been winning recently with total war.

@@Mystiqon doubt it. for the game that big and high budget, I'm sure they're looking for something strong to protect the game's file from being cracked (at least within the launch day, months even). RDR2 for example, it took like couple years to be cracked. not only that, it's not the latest version. (as of now.) and we still don't know if it's going to be a "live service" game or not. if it is, good luck trying to crack it. look at recent COD titles for example. last time I've heard about it, which is last year, someone's trying to crack the first MW reboot game, but it's not stable yet.

She really isnt a necessary evil. The way to stop denuvo is by telling game companies we dont want it. It makes the game run worse. Besides I stopped cracking games because I have the money to buy them on a argentinian steam account where 99% of games are WAY cheaper.

@@microwavegommmm916 Basically you make an account on a region where regional prices benefit you say turkey or argentina. Since they charge in ARS or TL and as such its much cheaper. 60 dollar games can be as cheap as 10 dollars. 20 dollar games ? 1 dollar. Not all games are like this but most of them are. Steam worked against this by automatically changing account if you pay in euros/usd etc but you go around this by buying keys/skins of websites like dmarket. You then transfer the items from the website to your account and sell them on the market for ARS or TL. You lose a bit of your investment but you still have very cheap games that can be played on whatever server you like. [Not restricted to argentina for example] Or you can use virtual payments to simulate you are from argentina. Hundreds of guides online. Either way I hope I helped ya have almost free games. Cheers

The reason why many modders (and Empress) believe that 99% of indians are bad, is cuz India is a very large country, so there's a very high chance the person you talk to online would be Indian. So for every 100 convos for example, 1 would be bad. And the chance of that bad one being Indian is high. So it gives off the impression that 99% of Indians are bad.

I grew up with cracked games and software thanks to some family members. Then met with steam and how low some of the prices were during sales. But for the past couple of years, Turkish economy is dying. 1 USD went from 18 to 26 TLY in just a year. Valve and other companies kept their prices same however until 2022 and 2023. Games that were 100-200 TLY went up to 500-600, then to 1500-2000 TLY in months. Long story short, right now in Turkey you either have a quite full steam library, come from a rich family or piracy.

I didn't believe it was actually a woman until the India stuff, that is a kind of gripe that only a woman would have because she's framing it in the context of the men in particular and yeah a lot of the guys from there are very abrasive in their approaches to women and so a lot of women have a big problem with them, i have no doubt that's the problem she had with them and that is what makes me really believe this isn't a troll cosplaying but it's an actual woman. I think the main issue is that if she does it, everyone should. If so, piracy will no longer be a bunch of games for free, it will be specific ones that are the most popular and get crackers money. 500 USD isn't that bad considering how few Denuvo games there are and how many pirates there are. If someone can't buy a 60 USD game but can buy a 5 USD one, they can spend that on the donation pool instead. The benefit is that the game is offline, can be compressed proper and will live on safer than the enabled version. Problem is that when the game gets an update, it isn't cracked and you get stuck in time with the old until I guess Empress finds enough new stuff to take a request for cracking the newer build. Fortunately many enabled games have Denuvo taken out a year or two later...For publishers it probably doesn't matter as the first few weeks are the most important.

That's the issue though. Nobody's saying "oh if you ask for donations for your pirated games you're just as bad as EA/Ubisoft/Whatever. Fitgirl and many of the cracking scene ask for donations as well. The problem arises when she intentionally locks games behind a paywall. I'd rather watch no commentary gameplay than pay for games I don't wanna/can't pay for.

yes that is true but someone like her spends countless hours getting these games ready. You can't expect someone to just waste all of their free time for you to have free games. Some people might, but I perfectly understand she would want compensation for that. She has bills to pay too. Starting a website doesn't really strike me as something that requires a great depth of technical skill... the cause is noble of course, just saying. Truth is, 99% of people in the most "hardcore" technical IT jobs (security hacking, low level programming, reverse engineering etc.) are men, whatever the reason for that may be. So it's kind of logical to assume that someone of an unknown gender possessing that skillset is a man.

There's no good reason to assume that the gender of Empress is the same as the gender of the real person behind her. I remember the good times back when video game piracy is popular like I am just a student and cannot afford such stuff altho I have a good pc for gaming before. Every weekend i go to my friend's house to copy any stuff he had (pirated stuff too. Either games burned on a cd or downloaded) amd had copied on my external SSD. But then came work. Buying games somehow become cheap and sometimes even free (steam and epic). Miss those times and yes, massive thanks to all pirates out there! Thank you for the crack lol

@@cowzze923 i rarely do that before. What I do is just copy the whole game file then copy it to my pc then just look for the launcher then make a shortcut. Yes the actual large game file, the fully installed one. Can also be playable if i access my external drive if i launch the game while browsing it so plug and play but ssd that time was just launched and those things are sure fast at that time. But sometime I managed to have the actual installer and no cracks needed. That was years ago. I rarely pirate stuff nowadays
