@@stevenle9960 I feel like that'd make it just... Unplayable most of the time? Like, the reason the AutoBattler mods and such play more cards is to make up for the fact that you can't choose your targets/what you're playing/etc. If you pay for the card normally you're now just playing regular STS except you can only make unoptimal plays at all times. Where's the fun?

@@thaddeusgenhelm8979 true so maybe your current energy is just a cap for the cost of cards you can play but it doesn't actually use your energy So if you have 3 energy you can't use a 5 energy cost card. It would make energy relics actually useful since it expands the number of cards you can put in your deck

@@stevenle9960 Maybe if you were to get extra energy from a relic you could play that many cards in your hand? That way it gives you a little more agency when selecting energy relics. Maybe it could also let you play 0 cost from Snecko specificially?

@@stevenle9960 Yeah, something like that could work. It definitely would take a lot of tinkering to find some level of "ideal" balance, since this is very much not playing the game as it was meant to be played.

Creative AI Power spam is genuinely one of my favorite things to see, having it automated is even better

Hopefully soon we get an auto battler that moves away from the Mayhem angle. It was a good idea for a way to make auto battling happen initially but I don't think it works very well overall.

I think the previous video had a better take on it, even if it was vulnerable to going infinite.

Idea for modders! What if, in order to utilize energy cards/relics, the number of cards played correlated to the amount of energy available? There could be a base number that then gets changed based on additional energy?

I like how this changes the game so much. I'm just gonna brainstorm my own way to drastically change the game. Maybe a forced speed challenge? The game puts you on a timer and clicks end turn. Energy and draw gives you extra time for the extra decisions to be made. Maybe there's even a speed for killing enemies fast. Like the remaining time available for a fight is given to you to make decisions at the next event; waste too much time and the decision is random. Maybe you can purchase more time at the shop so you can give yourself more time to decide at a cost. Essentially turning STS into a series of quick time events

Streamer: reads the changes saying that energy potion allows you to play cards on hand and that cards generated by potions and such are played automatically Forgets everything 2 minutes later

Honestly making a relic would make the most sense takes 3 energy reduces card draw to zero and plays 5 cards for each act cleared increases amount played by one

I'm with you on this one. Would make cards that generate energy and card draw much more viable

You know what would make for a more interactive experience for this auto battler mod. A new relic that lets you scry a card by clicking on it, costs 1 energy to use.

I think an improved AI that makes use of energy would be awesome. Like if it sees a kill, it prioritizes that first, then blocking incoming damage, then dealing damage

I would make it so a relic gives you 1 charge per draw and 1.5 per energy and each card played reduces charges by 1+energy cost. Playing cards when there’s positive charges. The mods should also prevent draw

I actually tried the mod where you play any card you draw and the only one that I could get a win was the watcher. I reccomend you give it a try since it is actually hard to go based on RNG alone and pray not to be left on wrath at the end of the run.

Chat upgraded from rats to soccer moms

I have a bad idea, you start with singing bowl, and every relic after that is either black star or prayer wheel, you can't have more than 15 cards in your hand at a time (cards that give cards that disappear after combat do not count, curses count towards the 15 with the exception of the starting curse) you can play any character, if you want to make things really crazy also add prismatic shard and increase the card limit up to 30, you can go higher than that, but it is just my idea.

I think it still needs some tweaks. If i had any idea on how to actually mod it all up i'd make it do as follows: Starting Energy and Card Draw reduced to 0. Have Mayhems equal to the number of cards you draw at the start of each round (So temp + 2 bag of prep, -1 from time eater debuff, +2 snecko eye) Mostly thats it. This would make 0 cost cards less terrible, cause you can now play them if you draw them. This also makes energy gain relics and cards a bit less worthless, cause they can synergise with card draw. Making starting energy 1 or 2 maybe, so X cost cards arent gutted and you wouldnt be forced to get an energy cards or relics to make card draw cards work

That jaw worm fight is why I don't like the "add 5 mayhem" approach, I think we need to go outside the framework of what slay the spire gives us & automatically play cards as they're drawn at the start of turn, but somehow not play cards drawn at other points in your turn.

I actually think being able to play 0 cost cards because snecko eye was reducing the costs of cards to 0 which kio's mod must not be coded to block out 0 cost cards again after an energy potion so snecko eye just randomly lets you play 0 costs

Should it not be easy to make it so if you draw a card it comes to your hand and then you can play it but you have to use the energy for that? That way you get a balance on drae cards and a use for energy cards and energy.

This mod almost plays a s fast as Frost does

with this mod, you can actually play alpha and it'd probably be decent. It might even activate Omega immediately if it instantly generates and auto plays beta and omega lol Then again, playing watcher on autoplay sounds super grief unless you get rid of eruption quickly and go for calm deck

creative ai and the eye really break this one, i like that snecko lets you play 2 more but i don't like how 0 cost randomised cards become playable

To be honest, the other one was much better because you didn't actually draw your hand. In this one you play only 50% of cards per cycle. draw cards useless, innate only harms.... The only good addition is "Auto" but it's broken.
