@@blingwraith6951 I don't know if I would put my faith in the combat decision making of video game strategists... Then again they may put less ego into those decisions. The US military once lost a war to Iran. It was a training exercise and OpFor was lead by a Marine general who did not use American tactics. I was Army so it hurts my pride a little that a Marine thoroughly whooped our collective asses with a ragtag force. My pride isn't the problem though. I'm able to accept the L and learn from it but the officers in charge of BlueFor got their feelings hurt. They had the threat adapted to them instead of adapting to thre threat. The exercise was ran again but the Marine general had to stick to American doctrine. This time around he was defeated in detail. Current military leaders have bigger egos than any gamer I know. That ego is going to get a lot of people killed. Another funny thing about the real military is that every order gets politicized and scrutinized so heavily that the battle was over two weeks prior to a decision being made. This was supposed to be funny, but I think it turned into TL:DR rant...

Rewatching it's incredible how bad Solar threw. Tried to end the game fast with a Roach Ravager push that got wiped by the cyclone + SCV and lost his advantage, then on the Nydus push fought his whole army under 3 tanks with no vision. Just kept wiping his advantages away. Third push fought under tanks and liberators

Maru vs Solar Army units, 9:32 before fight 77: 132, after fight 51:68 = units lost 16 vs 64 11:53 before fight 78: 117, after fight 66:72 = units lost 12 vs 45 that is how you lose to an opponent with a single base.

This is probably one of the most deserved wins ever, I don't only mean this series but the comeback in the finals against the world champion. So sick.

U can right click changelings to kill them, so you do not friendly fire by accident

Imagine having the balls to take a third CC right after your natural and staying on 2 cyclones for the the most part. After a completely failed opener.

It's really something how Tastosis really bring a lot to these matches with their running commentary, and their ability to switch from humor to fast-paced analysis is nothing short of great. As for Maru, truly unbelievable.

Maru vs Dark 1st GSL finals 2020. Now THAT was one of the greatest SC2 comeback I've seen.

Maru could've beaten those Independence Day aliens with 2 jeeps that have bazookas strapped to them.

Might be the first time the casters actually made me laugh. Only 4 minutes into the video and I can say I thoroughly enjoy this.

That final surround by Maru was like a Zerg surround on creep. Absolutely next level Terran plays.

Haha, so great to watch this again. Algoritme gave it to me again, think it saw it at the time. And the Wc3 quoting: "Get em Grubby! Use your windwalk on your blademaster" epic :) Nice fun cast yet again!

The commentary made this so much funnier to watch.

And that’s why people like Serral don’t try and close out games with risky all ins. Capitalize on the advantage keep the pressure on and your economic advantage should give you much better chances at winning. I don’t disagree with some of solars decisions but he could still have a decent attack without neglecting tech and his eco

Adam Henley that I think has more to do with personal style. Serral as I called him, a info Zerg, his games are so calculated that you’ll either see him crushes opponents as if he’s so much better skill wise, or he’ll forfeit and gg out so fast that most audiences would wonder why he gave up so early when there seems to be possible ways to comeback. Because he always wants to make the optimal decision and position he think base on the information he had. Solar, along with Soo and many players, I called them aggressive Zergs. Their philosophy seems to be that, you can’t have perfect information in this game, no matter how good you’re, there’s alway chance that you’ll miscalculate situation. Especially further into late game territory where there are too many variables involved. So the best way to capitalize an advantage is to attack when you’re ahead, and finish it before it gets complicated.

@@Telopead This is a pretty good analysis on things, but what made it so much worse was the fact that Solar assumed Maru would be an easy win after foiling the proxy attempt. Then by the time Maru wasn't dead yet and was starting to make his comeback, Solar was already so far into this strategy he couldn't back out and go a different tech tree. Solar just couldn't do much of anything at that point.

9:35 those three tanks took out at least 60~70 supply of Solar's army!!

Solar literally just kept throwing away units instead of keeping Maru on 2 bases and gradually choking him with better economy and higher tier units.

@@mornila I think he also slacked on creep. There were periods where Solar had enough map control to spread everywhere and Maru didn't have the eco to spend scans on denying it. It ended up hurting him a lot with map control late game.
