Agreed he's the best, 7th stakes win!! And he's now a millionaire. One of my favourites by one of my favourites, doesn't get any better than watching that beautiful tail stream out.

Best Horse in the Country is Laurel River. It's not even close.

I They will have to go on the turf to get a mile and a half. I wouldn't underestimate this horse, he did that easily, hand ridden, and set a new track record.

Last I heard Laurel River is not in the country nor is planning to race the rest of the year

Love this horse. Spotted him at the breeders cup 2 years ago. Horse was a beast in the slop at deleware park on an off the turf race. The rest is history.

What a great race, loved him being hand ridden on the stretch. Something elegant about encouraging a win without the use of a whip. The power of the horse becomes obvious. Thank you for the coverage.

Not to often you see a good 1-1/2 horse anymore. I haven't heard of him in awhile. I think he's a half brother to some other good horse. And what a nice horse, he inhaled them on the last turn. Did it handily. When they brought him back to the handlers, just as relaxed and gentle as a kids horse. He must be a pleasure to train. And a hand ride!

In the last two years (and I emphasize that) this is the 8th gray I've seen win a race. All the rest follow these patterns...1) break first from the gate and lead up to the final 1/8th pole then fade to last...2) break in the middle of the field and stay there only to fade last at the final 1/8th pole....or 3) break last and stay there. It's refreshing to see a gray win.

It's all subjective, don't rule out, or in, a Grey horse. Just because it's Grey.
