When will i be able to experience the ultimate truth😢?

This is a poem that needs to be listened to again and again. The depth is profound and a bit too much for me to absorb in just a listen or two. I’ve bookmarked this so that I can listen regularly. A panoply of iridescent wisdom and beauty. The cosmos in a mud puddle. A call to move beyond the mundane and weary dyadisms of our social programming and our incessant, discriminating mind flow. Pointing at “the Work” and “doing the Work” are traps in themselves. Pointing might initially be helpful but getting attached to the process of “becoming free” just amplifies the ego. What a conundrum!

If I understood one line of this sutra, I would finally I understand nothing.

@@da4dim This sutra hints at the fact that 'understanding' is our problem. We have thoughts, ideas and use words to make things up - things which we think have meaning. Things such as 'absolute', 'awakening', non-duality'. But it is clinging to these words and ideas that prevents us from knowing what they point to. If we let go, truly let go, all these concepts vanish - and then . . . . . . . the finger no longer points to the moon. That beautiful line, 'One thought and heaven and earth are separated' - what else need be said?

Viver no grande Caminho não é fácil nem difícil, mas aqueles com visões limitadas são temerosos e irresolutos; quanto mais rápido se apressam, mais lento vão. E o apego (apego) não pode ser limitado. Mesmo apegar-se à ideia de iluminação é se desviar. Apenas deixe as coisas serem do seu jeito, e não haverá ida nem vinda. Obedeça à natureza das coisas (sua própria natureza) e você caminhará livre e sem perturbações. Quando o pensamento está em cativeiro, a verdade fica oculta, pois tudo está turvo e incerto, e a prática penosa de julgar traz aborrecimento e cansaço. Que benefício pode ser derivado de distinções e separações? Se você deseja mover-se no único Caminho, não desgoste nem mesmo do mundo dos sentidos e das ideias. De fato, aceitá-los plenamente é idêntico à verdadeira iluminação. O sábio não luta por objetivos, mas o tolo se acorrenta. Há um Dharma, não muitos; as distinções surgem das necessidades de apego dos ignorantes. Buscar a Mente com a mente (discriminadora) é o maior de todos os erros. Repouso e inquietação derivam da ilusão; com a iluminação não há gosto e desgosto. Todas as dualidades vêm da inferência ignorante. Elas são como sonhos ou flores no ar; é tolice tentar agarrá-las. Ganho e perda, certo e errado; tais pensamentos devem finalmente ser abolidos de uma vez. Se o olho nunca dorme, todos os sonhos cessarão naturalmente. Se a mente não faz discriminações, as dez mil coisas são como são, de essência única. Compreender o mistério desta Essência Única é ser libertado de todos os emaranhados. Quando todas as coisas são vistas igualmente, a Essência do Ser atemporal é alcançada. Nenhuma comparação ou analogia é possível neste estado sem causa e sem relação. Nesse "não dois", nada está separado, nada está excluído. Não importa quando ou onde, a iluminação significa entrar nesta verdade. E esta verdade está além da extensão ou diminuição no tempo ou espaço; nela, um único pensamento é dez mil anos. Vazio aqui, vazio ali, mas o universo infinito está sempre diante de seus olhos. Infinitamente grande e infinitamente pequeno; nenhuma diferença, pois as definições desapareceram e nenhum limite é visto. Assim também com o ser e o não-ser. Too bad that because of the duality (good and bad) necessary for the human earthly experience, we do suffer also the "bad" part of it (e.g. tooth ache) and no matter how you remind yourself and become aware that it is just an illusion, that pain does hurt badly. There is no morality in pain, pain does not need to be judged as good or bad. Pain is an indicator that something is wrong with the body and needs attention. Similarly suffering is an indicator that something is wrong with the mind and needs a look.

“Hold no opinions for or against anything” is a flawed statement. It doesn’t take away the essence of what is transmitted but I think it is important to be careful with what we encourage others to do. First of all, that statement is itself an opinion, a preference, an instruction to do one thing and not the other. So it is self contradictory. And if you think this is overly intellectual or something like that (which I often get), you should come back to the ground. I have seen this kind of absolutization of the non-judgement principle lead to indifference and inaction over and over, especially in “spiritual people”. So, I would say it is wise to discern when the time is to let go of judgment and opinion, and when the time is to use your healthy judgement. If you’re living in a cave you can totally let go of opinion-judgement-preference, no problem, no harm to others. But if you are going to participate in the world (which people who go on KZread reliably do), you better make an effort to act responsibly, which requires lots of discernment, judgement… favoring right action. Cause the world needs that!

The poem is pointing toward gnosis, not a mere negation of discernment. The Great Way allows for healthy judgment and discernment. In fact to allow it completely is identical with true enlightenment. The most productive inquiry is to ask, "WHO chooses?" Once the true Self is experienced directly, not intellectually, the meaning of the poem is revealed.

Thanks for the answer Daniel. I do get the essence of what is transmitted. I truly do. I could have stressed that more in my message. It is not something you try to understand intellectually. But again, my objection is not just intellectual. It is a practical, consequential observation. People often take this kind of teaching the wrong way (they are probably applying it intellectually) and I see it plaguing the “spiritual communities” with indifference and such symptoms. In very real situations. So, looking at your message, we might be saying the same thing. It’s tricky man… this teaching does create a profound state if I just allow it into my awareness. There is no doubt. So I guess the important point is that it is meant to create an internal condition, but it does not apply “in general” to the whole of reality (my take). In fact, when I am in this non-dual state, I gain much clarity over good vs bad type of discernment. It does not exactly disappear. The quality of the discernment changes, the emotional load disappears, the projections disappear, the paranoia, the blaming and shaming… but I still have a perception of what is in alignment and what is not. And I am free to do something about it without the confusing of being polarized inside of myself. The problem with this kind of teaching is precisely when it is absolutized and turned into a belief system. My impression is that it happens often because it is very comfortable as an absolute belief. I Love everything you do man ❤. Just staying sharp
