I use MB 550's, because it pisses me off to have to work on a trap on the line. And with the MB550 i don't.

The only thing to understand is that a SC is more readily to go out of the box, vs overseas manufacturers. I bought some bridger 1.65s and 2 of them got knocked out of alignment on the first catch for each trap. Also we are at a critical time where we really should support American manufacturing, Taiwan, China, Korea are all enabling "slave labor" to a certain point. Nice video though!

Roundhouse jeans and they are made in Oklahoma. They make overalls also.

the traps we are using for coyotes is the duke#2 square jaw 4 coil they are strong ,but i think we need to get some offset 550's to live market our fox and coyotes ,the fox pens are paying about 75 bucks per dog,and they can be trapped year round in mississippi .

You pay one way or another, either all up front or all along the life of the trap. Good video.

Does it matter if an MB 450 can hold a black bear? :) You are correct, maintenance and upkeep is critical. Folks who pitch their traps in the shed or garage and don't touch them again until the day before the season are the people who usually complain about how their traps fail or break, etc.

You caught a black bear in a mb450? I caught one yrs ago in an old # 1.75 victor offset, it was just a cub. I'm not surprised if you did. I have some 450s and they are tough little traps. Tim Caven makes a great trap. Used 650s for ever. They are overkill in my opinion, unless trapping in frost. So when the 550s and 450s came out I went with them and traded most my 650s to a friend who wanted to try them for beaver trapping. I have 6 left for frozen ground trapping, they hammer a coyotes foot pretty hard and l trap for the live market. So I'm using mostly 450s.

I took a trip Friday drove down to West Point MS. Went to Duke traps. Picked up duke #2 offset dogless 4 coil . And Pro 850 but they was out. Will have some in Monday. Shipping too me. Took me 5.5 hrs to get to duke's. That said i like dukes traps. I got back home after the trip. Next morning i got the smooth rod out to laminate jaws. I got everything done. Went to set the pan weight. I had 8 out of 12 traps. I had to take all the way apart and ajust the dogless part. The pan couldn't clear the jaw. Finally got them fixed. The 850 are tanks cast big jaws. Springs are very strong. Very well designed trap. Scheel 2 weeks ago had duke dogless #2 4 coil for 9.00 each. Duke 550 for 11.00 each. Bridger # 5 19.99 By the te i fount the sale they was sold out. Bridger copied Northwood traps. And MB owns Bridger. Not right but most companies do.

With todays fur prices who wants to pay 25-35$ a trap? And its funny ALL trappers selling furs dont mind russia and china business. The main reason fur prices suck is because russia and china aren't buying much fur....... America hasnt bought fur for a long time. So yeah, I agree, get Get over it, use the trap that works for you. I use duke 550 and 650 because I like the bigger pan on them.... i dont care for the MB 550 pan, and the mb650 doesn't come close to the jaw width of the duke 650. Both duke traps have performed flawlessly for me.. in fact, I just ordered 2 doz more of the 650s.

Great video I agree 100% the guys arguing over the traps and where they are made and brand and all the other bull needs to stop. We need to save our arguing for the antis and any one else trying to take trapping away from us. Because if trapping is no more you won't need to worry about what traps any one is using because no one will be using traps.
