I agree that Lu Bu mostly would've used just an ordinary spear or ji for practicality. But I have doubts about that grave actually belonging to Lu Bu, considering Cao Cao executed him, they could've just thrown him in a ditch.

The 2 crescent blades on the sides should be double edged. This weapon is using the inner edge of the crescent blade to cut the hand of opponents. This is design to lock on to opponent's spear with the inner of the crescent blade and the welder will push or pull to cut the opponent's hands. The welder can also pull the halberd back and use the inner edge of the crescent blade to cut the opponent when the opponent managed to parry the thrust of the halberd. The design of the attachment of the crescent blades to the main spear is also not ideal as the crescent blade will fall off easily from pressure when lock on to opponents' weapon. This Chinese halberd had some similar uses like the western halberd which can used the weapon as a hook when pulled back. So, the attachment of the crescent blade to the main spear had to be very well attached which can take lots of pressure.
