The Great One-on-One: Throwing over the top (Early Rotation means Late Release)

Спорт

Rotating is good but rotating too early is not. It can cause late releases, bad balance and overall loss of power and accuracy. In this video I show you on way to fix it.

Dude by far the best DG lessons on here. You break down the individual components of the throw so much better than other instructors

Thank you! I have been playing and practising regularly for 3 months and I recently discovered your videos. I feel like they help me a lot at the moment to get a better form and things begin to "click". This in particular was really helpful for me. I had more or less the same throwing style as in the video, I tried the drill today and then I tried throwing again afterwards and I could definitely already see and feel an improvement.

Thanks again for a great video - you mentioned in an earlier vid, that the throw is "simple", in that most of the mechanics are instinctive for the body and you just have to allow it. One thing i noted, is that the base of it all is the good brace. Id love to see a vid about the brace from you.

  • @dgspindoctor

Brace is the foundation of everything. If that's not solid, throwing becomes very hard, and you start to focus on all the unnecessary things to fix it.

@@dgspindoctor exactly :) i for one suffer from a hesitence to put all my weight on my brace, leaving some of it on my backfoot, leading to an upper-body dominant throw. Will definitely do the postman drill with an emphasis on the grunded leg to try and get the feel. It could be an even better beato!

You got this! I admit, it takes a lotnof courage to throw without turning the torso and the head before the disc, but you just have to trust that the target is there and that your release happens perfectly without rotating too early.
