Exactly. They are indeed just humans, and humans have limits. Which means we, as fans, shouldn't pressure them into doing more stuff in less time, which essentially would lower the quality down and that would be very much bad for their content.

I think season 8 is what burned out a lot of the hermits. It was a short season where there were massive projects, and they were basically forced into grinding them out to finish them in time at an unhealthy pace.

Most of them still didn’t finish their S8 projects, and S9 feels the same especially for Scar, and Grian feels like he just doesn’t have a goal. TBF Grians goal in S7 was just build a giant mansion and an ever expanding business with the barge but he has nothing going on now. Like I was hoping he’d bring the barge back or have more for his base on its design and build but then he said he was gonna start over and didn’t.

Maybe the hermits should generally go a bit slower and smaller with their projects in the next season. Go smaller and if they wanna go bigger those bigger projects should be group projects to lessen the burden on the individual hermits and thus lowering the chance of burnout for them.

Season 6 lasted forever. Season 7 was nonstop because of the pandemic, HC was probably the only way many of them fulfilled their social needs. Season 8 was a huge rush to finish all these projects due to the limited season. I think it’s only natural that that burned a lot of them out in a major way. There are exceptions even for that though, where it’s probably something else. Etho talked about his struggles with the passing of his father, and even before then he wasn’t the most consistent uploader. He’s Etho. He’s a bit of an enigma, and we love him for it. Iskall… man I just hope Iskall is ok. He’s referenced multiple times that he’s undergone some extremely traumatic and life changing events in the past few years. He keeps uploading videos promising he’ll be back soon, but has very little follow through for. Which I’m not upset about or anything, I just hope the man is ok. He’s been pretty inactive since mid/late season 7, and I really miss his HC content, but I hope that he does whatever he needs to do. As for the rest of the server, I think they DESPERATELY need some fresh blood. With the unfortunate passing of TFC, Hermitcraft has now lost more members than they’ve added in the past 4 seasons, and that doesn’t even include that there’s a handful of players that are mostly part timers like Wels and Hypno. Some people from Empires/Life series are obvious choices, like Joel, Jimmy, Fwhip, Lizzy, Scott, Shubble, Skizz, Martyn, or Sausage (not saying all would or even could, just all solid choices). I will also forever ask for Wattles or ibxtoycat in HC (and yes, I know neither would ever join, especially Toycat). Another technical genius like ilmango would be AWESOME too. However, I think they also need a solid creative to join and revitalize the server like Grian did in Season 6, I don’t know who… Grian is GRIAN for a reason, he’s 1 of 1… but somebody who can come in and bring loads of new ideas would be awesome. HC doesn’t need a “writer” like Wilbur was for DSMP, but it’s obvious that Grian has been the driving force for most of the stories and server events, and he needs help… as for who… I have no clue. Maybe Tubbo? He’s been floating around the Hermit/Empires circle a lot recently, though it’s hard to see him staying PG enough for HC. No matter what, it’s hard to see Hermitcraft ending outright as many seem to be implying it could. I think we’re forgetting that these guys stayed strong throughout the dark ages of Minecraft when things were far worse than they are now. I can certainly see some creators leaving, viewership dwindling, and some big changes happening, but I think it’s important to remember that the reason the server has been so successful is because these people are all friends that enjoy playing together, they’re not in it for money or views alone. Idk, I’ve been up too long and this is a ramble, but I’ve been thinking on it for a while now that they need new players. Good video man.

I think Tubbo could do it, some members do make slightly more mature jokes at times, even a more child friendly one like Scar. As long as he doesn’t constantly swear which should be manageable, he doesn’t seem to swear that much in rats and stuff occasionally slipping out is fine, Cleo has done it before she (and Grian and Scar) just had to censor it in the video. I think the main one of those listed that might struggle would be Martyn. He says he isn’t a good builder (he is better than he thinks but not on the level of someone like Bdubs or Scar or Grian) and seems like he would thrive more in servers with some level of driving force (the life series has the red names and the boogeyman, Rats has the scripted events and New life has a death limit). Most of the empires crew could join though (maybe not sausage), especially as season 3 isn’t confirmed.

TFC passed i think in March 2022, which was already S9. My brain is not good with dates usually, but if I try to remember I think TFC only made perhaps 1 or 2 videos before that happened. It was really early beginning of season. EDIT: Correction, he passed on August last year. At least, his family reported so on August.

Interestingly, on Ren's stream last night I mentioned that my daughter had built a memorial to Obi (Ren's dog) on our family server. Someone else mentioned that they had Obi and TFC memorials next to each other on their realm. TFC's passing had an effect on us as fans, it must have had more of an effect on the Hermitcraft players.

normal issues have happened simple. grian has vacations and breaks like many other hermits rendog had personal issues mumbo needed a break after burning out iskall also needed a break these things happen and theres no stopping them, you can look into it but theres no big secret.

I think is only normal they get burnout after all those years. I think is a good idea in the next season they take more time. Maybe half a year. So they can have some vacations

I get burnout every time I play lol it truly is incredible just coming up with half their ideas. Actually FINISHING them is impressive enough (I have a ton of cool builds that are all like 50-70% completed before getting distracted by another idea or realizing it was harder than i envisioned haha). And that’s just playing the game-there are probably equal if not bigger dynamics to actually creating the videos.

Season 9 has already been going on for over a year. What I think it is was season 8 and the rush of everything. They chose to have a shorter season, but a consequence of that is they had to finish their projects quicker, grind them out more, which will cause even the most dedicated players to burnout. I hope whenever season 9 finishes, Hermitcraft goes on a bit of a hiatus to allow the hermits to rest, refresh, and recharge, whether that be by working on other projects or stepping back from YT as a whole

Maybe it's just me, but the "fanbase" that has grown since s6 has gotten weirdly attached to the server and speculating on things like this that really don't matter, such as the current lack of uploads

Don't forget it is summer. Every year hermitcraft content gets slim around this time. Also Keralis has many allergies around this time. I also feel like most hermits are waiting on Decked Out 2 beeing completed. While Tango is not putting out many videos, he usually streams 2 times a week.

Season 6 and 7 were my favorites because they were not only long but a lot of hermits were involved and it was filled with so many different events like the wars, economy competition, etc. They still have that this season but i think its not the same as back then. Anyway nice video!

Tbh I feel the same,groan being my favourite hermit and have watched 6,7,8 and what’s there if 9 that 9 is probs the worst season so far as it deosnt feel the same as like season 7 was rlly creative and cool same with 6 but then season 8 grians base wasn’t very big compared to other bases but as it was 30 epsisodes long and everything was really rushed they all Deserve a break

I loved season 6, it was the best. I missed a lot of season 7 and only watched iskall the full way through because i love him and I was very busy during the COVID, but season 6 was just so great, everyone was close by and everything was connected by rail and the nether hub was absolutely awesome and there was a lot more interaction between hermits.

Creativity isn’t a factory. I’ll get any free entertainment they give us (and if I could afford it, I’d support them financially), and prioritize their well being above all else. I just hope that their art can sustain them still through the low traffic times.

@@CompressLuft the KZread algorithm punishes severely those who break one’s consistency - hence why it would be nice for struggling creators to know their communities have their back.

I think after season 9 wraps up, the server should go on a break for somewhere from 6 months to 2 years, as long as it doesn't hurt any members livelihoods. This would allow burntout hermits to recover, new updates to drop (i'm a strong believer 1.21 will be a very good update) and make the server more interesting again. Maybe bringing on new faces such as empires member, guys like wattles or wunba, or giving some small unknown creators with interesting talents would help tje server

I see a lot of assumptions about the server waiting for Tango to finish decked out 2 to end the season. I think that is false. I'd be shocked if season 10 started before next summer. S10 will not be for a while. I think the hermits have been experiencing burn out, but I also think some of the viewers are expecting too much. A lot of events happened this season and I think the viewers tend to crave the next big drama that they do not fully appreciate the chill episodes or the smaller story lines. Just be patient and let the hermits do their thing

I think that there are complaints with everything the hermits do. I think they start projects/storylines and they're excited about them and then after putting in loads of work and getting hate in return it kills it. They then hurry to end whatever it is. This leads to rushed storylines and means that some really great ideas that could've generated loads more content end way too early. This alongside the "minimum video length" to be "successful" leads to some really bland episodes in between those ideas.

Minecraft needs an inventory management overhaul, incorporating missing promised features and mobs that didn't win past mob votes, and an End Dimension biome expansion update akin to what the Nether got. All of that would bring a lot of life into the game again for awhile.

There’s a video I watched (I don’t exactly remember who made it?) but they stated how Minecraft should add something that directly affects the main goal of the game, which I think is a pretty good idea. So yeah I also agree with an End update

hi guys today i wildly speculate!!!

Season 9 has been going on for quite a long LONG time. Mumbo explained his break and he returned, Grian was on vacation, I'm unsure about Iskall, and not 100% on Ren but he's having a really tough time right now. We need to give content creators a break if we want more from them. These are people too, not just machines that can pump out video after video after video. I've followed season 9 since the start and yes I've noticed some breaks in content, but that just makes me more exited for the next video! If the Hermit you enjoy watching is taking a break, there are so many other Hermits on the server to watch and enjoy!

I feel that they put themselves in positions where their builds needs to become bigger and more insane with each episode. The amount of grind and build they push on themselves is a lot and completely unnecessary. Yeah it’s cool, but they can easily spread it out in 3 episodes and I think everyone still would have been fine. Then there is room for them to explore and do fun things. Because we never seem them explore much. It’s usually put in big time lapses. Also if they are tired of vanilla, why don’t they opt for a season of modded fun? They can switch things up 😊. And I also think quality > quantity. I rather see 1 to 2 episodes a month than having them struggle.

I feel like this exact same situation happened around season 5, where some of the old people at that got burnt out and left

I think that in fairness, S9 has effectively already ended, but the Hermits are waiting for Tango to finish Decked Out; they'll have the tournament, and then the season will be officially ended. But I've noticed what you have, that a lot of the major players seemed to have burned out on Hermitcraft. Mumbo and Iskall vanished; Grian stated outright that he was out of ideas; Xisuma has stated repeatedly that he's burned out on megaprojects, etc. The various Life tournaments + modded also suggest the Hermits are looking for something to keep themselves interested in Minecraft. My wholly unsupported theory is that the crossover with Empires was also kind of an audition/bench test, to see how compatible the two groups are and to see who on Empires would be amenable to joining Hermitcraft in season 10. I don't know if that means people will be leaving, necessarily, but finding additional active, enthusiastic users would be the priority.

I completely agree with the last part of this statement. Several Empires members have stated that the next season isn't even though of right now, like season 2 was ahead of season 1 even ending. While i think season 3 will likely happen, it'll be a WHILE, giving them time to branch out into other series/servers. Several members of empires definitely could thrive on hermitcraft, while others definitely wouldn't fit such a space. The reason so many people are burnt out is like you said, they're literally just waiting on Tango to finish decked out.

I agree completely with your theory about the crossover however, many Empires members have expressed how they do not think Hermitcraft would be for them. I would love for members like Jimmy or Sausage or even Joel to join Hermitcraft but from their past content, many of these creators don't often commit to long-term series and such. Hermitcraft is a massive comitment for a content creator.

It's not just for Tango. Scar still has a lot of work to do on Scarland. Doc has a lot of plans and work to do for his perimeter. Cub is working on the museum and is always full of ideas. Mumbo literally just started his base. Zedaph is never short on ideas and has a bunch of zedvancements to do. Etho and Ren are super busy with the ice boat track. Etho has a ton of work to do on his base as well. I'm sure there are lots of other things that other hermits I didn't mention are working on as well. Keeping the season going is not "literally" just for Tango.

I think it’s a simple answer: These people have lives. They want to go on holidays, they want to see their families, they want to enjoy life. People don’t do KZread purely to make money. It’s way too much effort for just that. They do it because they can make a living by doing something they love and enjoy, but it’s still difficult. They need breaks. We need to respect that they want and need breaks. Hermitcraft is the perfect server to be a part of if you want a break, because as soon as you come back, you’ll be interacting with other Hermits, getting everyone watching you again, getting you back on the algorithm. Why is it all happening now? Coincidence? Maybe. It doesn’t matter. They’ve been doing this for years, some for more than a decade. That’s a long time. Respect their personal lives. Don’t be overly concerned about why they’re taking breaks. Let them tell us if they wish to tell us why. They deserve it.

the hermit are always getting burnout from over ambitious on their larger project like mega base. Maybe it's just minecraft itself that cause the problem because every minecraft player's perspective have change after the elytra added but built techniques is still the same. With the expansion height limit, I personally feel like the burnout will become more and more frequently if the hermit is going for big project.

I think the hermits are focusing on making videos and feeling pressure rather than actually being able to enjoy the game.

@@zurfu1639 except she is married to another youtuber that post regularly so she doesn't have to worry as much about income unlike the hermits where themselves or their families rely on them to provide. Impulsesv is a prime example of this. He was part-time youtuber until recently. He wasn't sure if he could be able to financially provide for his family as a fulltime content creator. Burnout happens that just apart of life but unless you have other income coming in or have funds saved up already. you can't just take time off for months.

@@Mar10K0ng yeah Ik that but like they r humans and not like a robot we need time to relax and stuff I am happy that they r uploading and stuff but waiting and everything else is cool too and also I like to use this a an example on a podcast with Zolyxp and pixelrift they did an interview with grian they ask him a question about this very topic and he said that something along the lines( I forget) of why don’t you post often and grian said it’s because of quality and he wouldn’t post something that is bad quality and so he takes hundreds of tries to get it perfect and take his time making his videos.

Burnouts happen, almost everyone gets them once in awhile. Im sure after some time off people will come back and be ready to do stuff again. Just give them sometime and space to do their thing and recharge their creative juices.

All of my classmates watched during Hermitcraft seasons 6 and 7 but aren't right now. I hope they come back.

I’m hoping they make it to season 10 as it’ll be a big achievement but I fear this may be their last. I feel like next season a bunch of hermits won’t return at all, or straight away

If you ask me it was to be expected with a long season as season 9 was planed out to be. TBH i support the Hermits slowing down and getting to enjoying the server more than just pumping out videos 🙃 they are people just like us, only difference is they play on Hermitcraft, instead of their personal private servers 🤷‍♂

I think they should get to Season 10 soon. I know Tango needs to finish Decked Out, and there are other mini-games still needing to be complete, but I think a new Season might help. I also think they need to take a longer break between Seasons 9 & 10, where Grian can do another Life Series, and others can focus on themselves and other SMPs, which is what Gem and Pearl seem to be doing with New Life. They also need to bring in new members and let older members have a break. I think the Empires storyline was to help see if that was workable, and I think it was.

A lot of Hermits seem to be enjoying a wider block selection and technical ability from the create mod. If we get a season 10 might be rebooted as a modded series if server performance issues could be addressed. Would really let them flex their creativity and add new variety to their grind. For now, I'm betting decked out will be an absolute slapper, and this could revive the energy a lot. It seems like people are either helping Tango or doing smaller/ side projects before it opens. Either way decked out will be amazing. We'll see familiar faces on the server for sure!

Tango mentioned in one of his recent streams that trying to run a large server in Create mod would be very difficult if not impossible. Even with just a few players the framerate issues really cut in to video quality which is a big concern. It would be awesome to see though, and my hope is that eventually vanilla Minecraft starts moving in that direction, adding more tech stuff that is.

I feel like the best way for their interest to get back is if the empires members all joined hermitcraft. I feel like having those fresh faces on the server will make them excited to play the game again.

While the crossover worked well to bring the Empires group to the Hermitcraft server for a while, the play styles of the Empires group are very different from the Hermits, which may lead to most of that group turning down the offer to become a Hermit. Visiting the server for a month is fine, but many of them likely won't want to be on it full-time. I would love to see some of them as Hermits, but I can't imagine more than 1 or 2 of them joining, if offered.

the break between season 7 and 8 was extreemly short and between 8 and 9 was quite short aswell, usually they had a bigger break between seasons.

The buttercups and docm situation has been amazing, I havent laughed so much for years! where u have been

I feel that, after Season 8, many hermits got tired of server wide story lines and out of respect for that, they have tuned down the more complex storylines, but haven't been able to find together a balance between engaging in a communal project and creating individual content that is comfortable for every hermit.

i was thinking about this, damn i miss them. i can imagine how stressful and difficult something like this can be, and getting burnt out is inevitable, but it just breaks my heart to see it happen. we truly may be losing hermitcraft this season or the next forever. :(

I think most of the hermits are done with their projects for the season 9 and they are just waiting for Tango to finish his decked out project. I don't think it's a burnout for some of the hermits.

@@usefulpineapple4538 I feel like he definitely needed to be in the New Life SMP but beacuse of Decked out he couldn't. I'd love to see him create his own server for the create mod and have people like grian & mumbo & red & iskall who've been more burnt out of late.

I would argue that Vintagebeef has done quite a lot to keep the server alive. TCG brought back multiple hermits even if it was just for a short time. Wels and Hypno both couldn't resist. The entire server has been obsessed with it and within it's launch, all that was happening on the server was TCG.

I feel that the pressure to upload content or lose subscribers is a big one. If you listen to the Imp and Skizz podcast, they explain that if the content they provided or their upload schedule is not consistent that it seriously affects their stress levels. I hate this. Because many of these hermits left their jobs to do youtube full time. If they lose subscribers, they lose their main source of income. I follow a youtuber who only posts a video once a year. Every year, when I think that I'll never see another from him, suddenly I see a video in my recommended. I have been following this youtuber since like...2010. I didn't unsubscribe him because he wasn't uploading anymore, and I know I am not the only one. Many LOYAL subcribers will stay. I also would rather the hermits post less frequently, so that they can focus on the quality of they video, put less stress on the hermit, and not get a half-assed, rushed video that nothing occurs. Tango is a good example. He is focussed on decked out this season. It is taking longer than he intended to complete. He also, rarely does stuff outside of his cathedral, because he wants to finish this task. So yeah, he has just been consistently livestreaming and posting those on his second channel. I also like that he saves some content from the stream to put in his official Hermitcraft video, so that you are encouraged to watch those too. People watch his livestreams of him "counting to 9" over and over again. But we still watch. Because the anticipation for it to be finished is there. I want to be one of his followers who is there when he puts in the last block, and I want the chat to blow up with cheers when the build is complete. Tango deserves that. TLDR: A hermit could just do a livestream of digging up dirt, talking about random things, and people will watch. Because the conent is not always what people are looking for. It is the friendly face, and watching passionate people do creative things. Don't let that passion die!

I'm surprised that the creator of this video and most of the people in the comment section seem to have completely overlooked the streaming and revenue aspect of this. I realize he focused mostly on creative burnout, but at the same time YT has become a very difficult place to keep making a living for full-time content creators. Ad revenue has been declining for years, YT's algos keep changing and suppressing videos and YT's management constantly changes what they're telling creators what they should do in order to increase views. They're (meaning YT) also pushing stuff like memberships and shorts and streaming on KZread instead of other sites - all of which YT gets a percentage, so there's their motivation for it. All of that affects the Hermits just as much as any kind of creative block or real-life events going on. This is a very different website than it was just a few years ago during those peak HC seasons, and I'm sure some of them are feeling like it's not worth putting in as much effort as they used to.

I mean, to be absolutely honest, they have lives and priorities. TangoTek would honestly destroy the very world if Season 9 finished before Deck Out 2 was finished, and Im very sure a good majority of the hermits would too. Xisuma deciding to focus more on other projects is fair to him, and if wishes to come back any time, that should be expected. Same with Stress and Iskall, especially them focusing on life and other projects. I mean there’s still much to do and variety and things to do. Mumbo, though currently on a ‘break’, still has his base. Etc etc.

it looks to me that the constant need to one-up previous seasons is finally catching up to everyone. I watch hermitcraft for the social aspect more than anything else

i think its likely that there will be a longer break than usual after season 9, even just as a player i get burnout from minecraft, i cant blame the hermits from getting burnt out constantly having to play and upload, i think season 10 will be a good season if theres a large break and they're all refreshed

1) Some of the Hermits have real life personal issues they are dealing with or had been dealing with that required large amounts of time away. 2) It's the summer time for the northern hemisphere and there's a common pattern among not just Hermitcraft but also KZread at large where content across the board tends to slow down around this time. With school being out in many places creators that have kids especially will have inconsistent schedules or free time. During the summer more people are also outside doing more activities than staying around a computer, as such view counts tend to be lesser during the summer as well, and while views aren't everything, for creators who's job it is to create content this matters a lot. If you have a reduced viewer base with only a certain number of hours a week worth of watching, you don't want to spread those view numbers too thin, if you post a lot of videos you'll have some videos do well and others not so much, compared to reducing the number of videos means each video has more time to get good numbers without dividing attention, which is important as KZread will stop promoting your channel to people as much if it deems your latest videos haven't been doing as well. 3) This is likely the largest reason. Season 6 was an outlier in length, lasting for around 19 months. If we look at each season, season 1 lasted about 14 months, season 2 and 3 lasted about 16 months each, season 4 lasted around 13.5 months, season 5 lasted about 15 months, 6 lasted around 19 as said before, 7 lasted about 15.5 months, and 8 lasted about 6 months. As we stand season 9 has been in motion for 16 months already. Only one other season in Hermitcraft history has gone longer than 16 months, and it's looking like some of the hermits still have plenty of storylines to explore. With Decked Out, Scarland, the new conflict brewing between Doc and Ren vs. Grian, Scar and now Mumbo Season 9 may end up being the second longest season in Hermitcraft's history, in fact it basically already is. The longest season (season 6) was 19 months and 6 days, the second longest season was season 2 which lasted 16 months and 8 days, from the start of season 9 until today marks exactly 16 months and 8 days, meaning it's tied for second longest season, and tomorrow from this post will be second longest. These breaks for many people honestly feel like typical nearing-end-of-season lulls in content, the season likely won't last much longer, probably until Decked Out 2 is finished and runs for a bit.

Season 6 really felt like two seasons in one though. When 1.14 dropped they moved to a compltely different part of the server and kind of started over there. I didn't even realize season 9 has gone on this long, mainly because there's like 1/10th of the videos being produced by the Hermits overall. It just felt like there was a lot more happening back then, this season has been a big blur.

@@Raskolnikov70 agree, despite now being the second longest season, Season 9 has for the most part felt a bit sparse. but more so in the last several months, it was much more active earlier on. We'll see what season 10 brings when it eventually comes, it'll also depend on what updates for the game come out as well, I imagine after this many years the pool of easily pickable original or unique ideas or inspiration is getting a bit drier.

The fanbase is too demanding.

I think iskall might wait for season 10

I don't think this is an issue, or at the very least not quite as big of an issue as you're blowing it up to be.

I feel the same. Burnout happens and real life does happens. I have complete love and faith even if it's slower at times.

1st : they are humans like me and you 2nd : everyone need to take some rest 3rd : its summer so most of them having a vacation have fun :))

I remember I started watching Wells Night and Mumbo in Hermit Craft season 4 than I watched them through all season 5 it was very nostalgic to hame back and watch season 7 after not watching 6 but as season 8 rolled around I did start to notice a very inconsistent interest but as the saying goes what goes up must come down not to say hermit craft is dead but its ok for the interest to drop after all these are people with real lives just hope they're doing ok

Guess u haven't been paying much attention to HC in the past couple of weeks. Decked Out 2 is complete, and there is loads of content.

I noticed they seemed to have some burnout season 8 for sure. There has been some seasons where people have posted more or less as well.

Season 9 is already technically over, the only reason it isn’t officially over is because Tango is taking ages to finish Decked Out, but you can be sure that as soon as he’s done and the hermits have played around in it enough the season will be finished.

It might be. But I want to say something to you about Grian specifically months after Mumbo's return but there is a chance that I might get what I am saying wrong. (I hope you understand what I am saying because I am not a native English speaker.)

Season 7 was for me and I think for everyone is the greatest season of all time. Because it was so much fun in every aspect. Business, tournaments etc. I especially liked the business part of the shopping district and of Grian and the Great Turf War with its shinenegans and proxy war. And also it's mega builds. It was the best and better version of season 6. Btw your channel is growing fast and your content also getting good and been here since long

I use premiere pro, and there’s a thing where you can click on a stopwatch icon next to “position”, “scale”, or “rotation” in “video effects” for certain images. You can lock 2 different positions at different times in place by using that and it’ll animate the image moving from one to the other. Im not the best at explaining this but there’s a lot of good tutorials on YT you can find

I bet others would hate me for saying this but I think that's a good idea. Obviously they can't stop KZread as that is their job but maybe for a year they go their separate ways and do their own thing and then come back to hermitcraft.

Well...one obvious thing...many of the hermits have been making Minecraft videos since Minecraft was originally released. They've built their fantasy bases...they've done this all over and over...it's bound to take a toll. The passing of TFC put a dark cloud over the season. I loved watching TFC videos for the perspective he gave us. He wasn't one for collaboration but he used to be a consistent fixture on the server. I think everyone was hoping he would get through the bad health and make a big comeback...but he didn't. That's bound to have had a somber effect on many of the hermits who have gotten used to giving TFC the old "o/" when they see him sign on. Iskal and Stress have been kinda pushing Iskal's vault hunters mod...(I personally can't stand modded Minecraft)...maybe their vault hunters videos work out better for them...I dunno... False is less active this year...she has mentioned that she's had personal issues that get in the way of video making. Keralis has mentioned being sick a couple of times...plus I'm sure he's busy with his kids and his other projects...(serious bummer because he's so entertaining). Impulse and Tango seem to be more and more getting sucked into Twitch streams....which appears to have more profit in the short term...but their KZread channels can't be growing like they used to. Other hermits have divided their time between a couple of servers...which kinda sucks... It has been mentioned that new hermits may help rejuvenate things but I don't think adding more big name KZread content creators is the way to go. I think that adding some relative unknown players may make things more interesting. Plus those people are less likely to get distracted by offers from other big name SMP servers... Another issue has been all the updates...rather than updating the current game and making current blocks and items more useful, mojang has insisted upon adding lots of new blocks and items...which the viewers expect to see in their favorite hermit's videos...so that hermit keeps having to adjust their season to include things like honeycomb, sculk, and pink wood...then there's the new ore distribution...annoying to say the least... I hope they get it together though...I miss the Mumbo/Iskal and Iskal/Stress episodes...

Stress is currently gone bc of her kids and summer holidays Iskall is gone bc hes running vault hunters Karalis is gone bc his hayfever gets really bad in summer this happens every year

stress isn't gone because of her kids its because she playing more modding than vanilla in the past year.

I think it would be cool if next season they add a few mods that cater to the hermits skills. So for example they could add the create mod for technical players like mumbo or doc, or they could add mods that add in more blocks for builders like scar or grian.

Well almost all of them are back. They are real people who take care of themselves and their real lives. We shouldn't except them to upload like the newer younger content creators

I think the incident may be the best thing to happen to Hermitcraft in years. A run of the mill episode turned into a content farm for several hermits, allowing them to push out new episodes more frequent than ever. Hopefully this will motivate some of the more inconsistent/burnt out hermits to return to get involved or just with new inspiration.

Well, iskal has irl healt issues so he won't upload anytime sooon...

I think they're generally losing interest in minecraft. Hermitcraft used to be greatly supported by the new updates which brought lots of new features and mechanics, but updates like 1.20 didn't do much except bring in minor things like pots, armor trims, etc.

I'm probably one of those who'll think that Hermits being gamer themselves, are as just vulnerable to burnout especially that they've been playing vanilla Minecraft for long. Not to mention how the recent changes in Minecraft, though some of them are good, it's not exactly something enough to retain players for an extended periods of time. At least in my observation, some of the hermits are deviating to modded Minecraft: some of them been playing Vault Hunters, then some also played New Life (also an SMP that uses modded), it's a statement that they didn't lose interest in Minecraft itself, but more with vanilla content. Though I'm not setting aside the other valid reasons like what Ren's been going through and how Scar needs to take care of his health and how some Hermits just can't do their former schedules anymore. It helps if we allow them to take breaks or to expand from what they usually do. Kind of like how it's always refreshing to see Grian finding any other means to make different content like the Life Series. I mean, one way or they other, they will have to step away from HermitCraft once in a while for sake of their sanity and creative freedom. There shouldn't be a pressure for them to force to play HermitCraft all the time. The fun part of this, I end watching other hermits doing other things like Impulse's podcast, Iskall and Stress' Vault Hunters and everyone doing their own things. This helps a lot when they eventually start Season 10 with fresh perspective. On serious note: if Minecraft will eventually have an official API that will allow mods to be easier to update every version and integrate well together, and be more supportive with mod creators, then this will mostly bring a really huge change that will make Minecraft more sustainable to play even when it takes longer time to add new things in vanilla.

I love your videos. Good job and thank you for not showing any hate towards Hermitcraft!

The burnout is probably do to the games updates being so lackluster with little to no content. Mojang is also scared to add anything that would change the game.

I personally think this is your opinion, I don't think that the updates have been lackluster at all. Some will be more exciting than others sure, but wouldn't describe them as lackluster

@@playfulplushies8000 well it’s definitely majority opinion. I play with 14 people on a realm and they all think that. Adding new blocks that do nothing shouldnt be considered content. That’s just for building. Mojang rarely adds things that change gameplay. Now we are getting less and less updates when already we were getting a horrible 2 a year. A developer team of 200 should put out way more content than they do. The game may end up dying if Mojang keep the same update cycle and release bad updates like tales and trails.

@@Aquazyt true yeah. I am a builder so I get excited by things like that. I really really want mojang to stop doing the mob vote because all they add is a terrible mob and random stuff. Instead they should be useful or maybe adding a structure or choosing an update. Like when we chose which biome would be updated.

They were all gearing up for Grian and Doc to start another war. And here it comes.

I feel like it’s because they’re all doing this full time and the newest update, unlike caves and cliffs in its entirety, didn’t add enough to make new content for. A lot of hermits are doing 1-2 more series along side hermitcraft so

If you are a true fan of hermitcraft creators you will let them have their breaks and not pout about it

WEll November 2023 and everything is really warming up, the Life Series, Vault Hunter Series, and Beef Just started another Team Canada :D

season 9 achieve so much stuff. for me as a viewer, mainly watching Bdubs, Gem, Impulse, and Etho, it doesn't feel that long (maybe bcs hermits upload less). imo it ends on a high note, both for hermits (we know how much hermits love decked out) & viewers. ofc I'm sad about some base not being finished, like Scarland and Joe's pinball, but imo megabase is something you can still continue on your own world. I really hope hermits take a long rest & start season 10 abit later. there's no interesting update for Minecraft and they already spend almost 2 years working on HC. for season 10 I just want more hermits interaction tbh. maybe trying to build 1 mega base that consists of 3-4 hermits (kinda like soup group, or boatem, but just 1 megabase). not only increase interaction, but also lessen the burden of grinding 1 big project alone. there's some suggestions in conments about new hermits and here's my thoughts: I don't think anyone from DSMP is going to fit into HC. not only being PG friendly is the requirement, but HC is more on the grind-heavy side. like almost every HC project takes alot of time & effort. I think DSMP is more on the storytelling side. Empires members fit the grind-heavy side, but it's going to be too hard to be both on HC & empires, unless you're really good with time & stress management (props to you Gem) if I can be subjective, I would really love for Skizz to be on HC. but since he still has a job outside being a cc, it'll be hard for him aswell. here's a fresh recs, I think Mogswamp would fit well in HC. he's PG friendly, familiar with the grind (he spend years on his superflat world), it'll be fresh experience for him as well to play in vanilla. also definitely bringing new set of viewers since he never join any mc server (pls correct me if I'm wrong) okay that's my thought. if you read until the end, thankyou. also forgive me if there's any grammatical mistakes, english is not my first language

i could be crazy but i think one of the main problems with this season is that it is not an ocean seed, i feel like bases near the ocean open so many possiblities which dont exist anymore, s6 s7 and s8 all had many ocean bases but s9 has just cleo and joe i believe but its just an opinion.

This is exactly why I say season 10 should just be a hermit doing their own thing like a throwback to when the series first started with no massive plans no ginormous story lines they just do their own thing so they can get that jolt of enjoying the game again.

Normally it feels like hermitcraft goes through a few cycles of lots of content then not much every season, the first few months there is a lot of stuff then everyone gets into their own flow then it slowly tapers out until the first event and then there is another then another slow period and it kinda just repeats, I don’t blame most of them for slowing down because the last event was a double one with both the king stuff and the empires server so it makes sense and things are clearly going back into a strong period again because the Doc stuff is definitely leading to something plus the new update and decked out is getting closer by the day

personaly i think that the hermits should take it at their own pace and i get that some of them are going through some hard stuff right now.

There wasn't much info in this video, in the bit about Ren for example you could have stated some of the issues (like finding a place to live). There's just a lot of fluff, and not much substance.

i feel like they should do their proyects because they REALLY want to that proyect, Grian's base and shop are one of the most confusing and badly thought out its really showing the block, i just want the season 6-8 kind of creativity back, i know that i'd break the concept, but a modded season wouldn't be too bad plus i think they've done it before, with new mods and vanilla tweaks i'd work perfectly to expand horizons

Its actually a good thing if you think about it they take breaks when they need it they have lives outside of content creation which is what keeps them going to make quality videos if you look at the rising Minecraft creators over the past 2 to 3 years you'll see many end up drifting apart from the game and eventually there friendship, mental and physical health would rapidly decline ,them understanding their own needs is what makes them such a long lasting creator that still appeals to there audience and stays relevant

I think Doc, Tango and Vintage took season 9 and made their season. Specially Doc and Tango.

Life is change and nothing lasts forever! If we keep sticking to old habits, the world around us eventually leaves somewhere else leaving us behind.

I believe the real reason for the Hiatus is the Life series SMP, as many hermits don't want to be loners since Grian Tango Geminy Impulse Cleo Bdubs Etho Pearl and more are in the Life series, and the other part is about updates, sometimes the hermits prefer not to play waiting for the updae that was revealed because what's the point on buiding something if in 1-2 months things will change drasticly.

Mumbo, Grian, and Iskall are not Hermitcraft.. It’s definitely not burned out, there are over 20 active Hermits producing quality content weekly. Branch out my guy..

As I am a couple months later than most of these replies, I am currently seeing some answers to this. -Grian, Mumbo, Bdubs, Cub, Scar, Pearl, GeminiTay and a couple more (About or more than half of the hermits) have a whole project in Secret life that runs weekly (videos every friday) -You also had empires (GeminiTay and False) (and the Crossover event possibly to spice things up) which had just ended a couple of months before secret life -A couple of hermits are playing different games (or modded minecraft) to enjoy a change of scenery -You also have Real life scenarios such as family, friends or loved ones and other hobbies outside of Minecraft happening too. (A literal trading card game has been in the works throughout the season) -You also still have some of the hermits still running strong on hermitcraft. -Its just that A lot of the hermits cant commit to playing the same minecraft and editing videos for a year or 2 straight (which i absolutely don't blame them and I would go insane myself.) -These people are humans with lives and families outside of the internet. And they have every right to stop and put themselves over random people on the internet. I'm sure you would too.
