well, its supposed to portray the real world, often it's the case that ''those friends'' of rich people are only your friends as long as it's benefitting them somehow, and not when you really need them.

How did he play him...he left to war she didn’t know anything about him let alone if he was still alive.. she moved on found someone she loved in Tom and got married...she even had a kid with Tom it’s sad but asking her to leave her family and everything behind for something that ONCE was was too much for her...Gatsby was so trapped by Daisy it led to his death

If we read the book we’ll know the beginning of it all. Daisy and Tom, are rich, careless people just like Nick narrated towards the end of the movie. Actually Daisy loved Jay first before she met Tom but couldn’t marry Jay because he’s poor. Ahhh!! The Great Gatsby. Beautiful book I couldn’t stop reading it I remember when we were first introduced to it during our post graduation course. The movie is just a fragment of it.

What a song!!!! True love should answer in the affirmative to all the questions in the song. And Jay’s love for Daisy is like that. His love is constant even after she married and had a child. Unfortunately, Daisy is just....I don’t know “careless” just like Nick Carraway said.

I know some people hate daisy but I think she truly loved him and when he “died” she finally moved on to someone who didn’t love her back I think she always loved him but was too stuck to move and when she found out he was alive she was too broken to pick up the pieces again I feel so sorry for what daisy had to go through

She loved security, not the people. She married Tom because she realized that Tom can provide her a strong security and wealth. She reunited with Gatsby because she realized that Gatsby could also provide that security as well. Basically she was a gold digger

@@TheAaronDrew Gatsby didn't really love her, he wanted to possess her. The book makes that clear. It wasn't real love. He wanted to be part of high society and Daisy was just the icing on the cake. The fact that he idealized her was not her fault. He was as controlling as Tom.

Daisy is just an ordinary girl who is born rich. These people have seen too much ugly reality to take the crazy risk for that 0.0001% of chance of true love perfection, they have too much to lose, and their body has corrupted energy. so they rather play safe.
