The Great Escape

Спорт

Video by Torin Simpson.
Jeremy and Allison Schwartz are members of Maxability Sports and CrossFit in Teaneck, New Jersey.
On the same day Allison started CrossFit, she found out she was pregnant. She didn’t continue with CrossFit during her pregnancy but intended to return to the affiliate after the baby was born.
“Overall, I felt great,” Allison says of her pregnancy. “I just felt good. I just felt like ’this is what I’m supposed to be doing.’”
Just four days before her due date, Allison and Jeremy received devastating news: Their baby had died in utero.
After delivering a stillborn baby boy, Allison spent six weeks on the couch trying to recover from the mental and physical stress of labor and delivery.
“Your body physically doesn’t know that you didn’t come home with a baby,” Allison says through tears, “so you still have all the physical symptoms of going through labor.”
Two months after the loss, Allison returned to CrossFit, which became part of her healing process.
“I think CrossFit helped Ali-in a time where you could feel like you’re in such despair-provide an outlet where you physically have to be strong,” Jeremy says.
Allison agrees: “It felt so good to finally gain confidence in myself physically again. … It’s been so helpful.”

I showed this as a human strength / don't take anything for granted story at our employee company lunch ....Allison your strength and focus on helping others is so awesome. Jeremy your analogy of the canvas is spot on. Praying for both of you and thankful for your sharing your example of how to turn trials / tribulation into blessings for others. Crossfit WOD's have a way of putting your day/life back into perspective and strengthening your soul.

Thank you for sharing. Our second child, Peter, was still-born on the 13th of September 1999. There is still a piece of emotional scar tissue left from that time, some injuries just leave a mark but with proper care healing can take place. What if.....?

Thank you Jeremy and Allison for the brave act of sharing your story. As a midwife I relate deeply and from your shared experience I have learned a couple of pointers that I will bring with me forward when caring for the unfortunate families who experience a loss like yours. I love your talk about learning to trust your body again and finding that through crossfit. Love from Denmark.

You understand that Crossfit is a company that uses KZread for economical reasons? It makes me sick seeing that such a story is being abused in this way!

matthew francis i don‘t think this is something to laugh about. The point is not which social media platform is used for this story or that maybe everyones motivation might be economical, but to choose - especially as a sports channel - such a story for publicity and financial profit. I find this highly distasteful.

@@schlegel98 smh, 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️, the story isnt about their loss, its about the fact that CrossFit, for some, is an escape and a place that they can regain themselves when circumstances in their life outside of their control has taken something from them. Its about mental strength that is gained by some when they do CrossFit. This story isnt about their loss, that is just for background on what they had to regain themselves, move past, and recover from. Bravo for them for being able to get past the horrible loss, stop looking at it from a negative point, smh.

Whoever edited this choose the most bizarre background music, such a bad choice. It really took away from being able to focus on the video. Aside from that i really feel for the mother and father, keep at it xxx

I'm sorry for what happened to you. I have good news for you. Your baby will always be your baby. You will have the chance to live with him at the other side of the veil, after this life I mean. Death is a step forward on our eternal experience. God's plan has a way to overcome it, and it's through Jesus Christ. Please visit www.mormon.org and check for yourselves. We send our love to you.

Daniel dont do that. Dont try to cheapen their pain. The fact is you dont know what happens when people die. Nobody really knows. They think, they believe, but they dont know. So just dont. You dont know if these people even believe in a God or afterlife. And even if they do, you shouldn't use such a personal and painful experience to manipulate someone into your religion. I get you are probably very sincerely trying to help. But all you need to say is "sorry for your loss".
