sandler has figured out a way to hang out with his friends and get paid for it. most of the time the movies are just the byproduct and I actually respect that. every 10 years or so he actually tries, the rest of the time he's just hanging out with cameras rolling.

You'd think I was insane.

Its underrated if anyone has any love for fun bmovies. I think it is a great bmovie. And sandler, surprising good heart of the story. Its my favourite. And THE metal cult movie. But overall, good balance of all zany things that shouldnt work as well as they do, but do. Great writing. I mean the sheer love and humorous fanservice like ozzy osbourne eating a bat head off a bat(based on a real event) for metal mixed with the humor and it works. Indeed underrated.

I grew up watching Sandler. He's part of the 2nd great wave of SNL. I love pretty much everything he's done. Mostly because he's an everyman type of comedian. Each of his roles encompasses some aspect of trying to grow up and figure things out while trying to stay grounded. You have roles like happy Gilmore or Billy Madison where you're just starting out and trying to figure out what you want to do with your life. There's movies like grown ups where you're trying to balance work and family and not lose your damn mind. All of it is just really relatable.

The one was Adam's character is walking away from the machines that keep him alive, out into the rain, calling out for his son who doesn't notice him until he collapses on the ground. The whole family gathers around and he gives his son the advice to "always put family 1st" and gives tearful good byes to each one of them including a comedic near middle finger gesture to the wife's new husband that he changes to an "OK" gesture. Gives the romantic note he wrote to his ex wife, only to die peacefully with the son crying on his father's chest.

Sandler is so good when he's punching upwards. When he's coming from a disadvantage, he excels. It works if it's comedy or drama. We liked Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, and Waterboy because his character was in a constant state of having to prove himself worthy to a world that's laughing at him. Hell that's how his stand-up comedy worked. His drama works when he has something about himself that he's fighting against, not just an enemy. Confident Sandler does not work. Insecure Sandler can be brilliant.

You know, Idk if it's because I'm latina but I actually love Spanglish. I think is an amazing movie, tackling a subject so common in my life that often surprises me that people doesn't appreciate it more. And, of course, I love Sandler's role in it.

Men, Women & Children is a criminally underrated movie in which he also gives a surprisingly good performance.

Bedtime Stories is still a guilty pleasure of mine. Plus I think The Cobbler is a very underrated movie.

Adam Sandler has made movies of him basically on vacation and made millions of dollars doing so. I don’t think anyone can truly critique this man.
