Robin Williams was a genius from the start. In this performance he reminds me of the international versatility and impeccable comic timing of Danny Kaye. This was about the time of his appearances on the '70s remake of "Laugh-In," and I'm sure he always stole that otherwise bad show. Wish he were still with us. Thanks for posting. Rest in peace, Robin.

@@hishamlabban6308 Never thought of it. I did never get that joke anyway. Maybe it means that his mother rather would have had a girl as her child, but she loved robin also. Because her mother said: I love you in red, I love you in blue, but first of all I love you in blue. You know this interview where he mentioned this? But I agree: You can never know with robin wether the story is true or a joke. Should you not know this interview and should it be that you're happen to be a fan of robin also, here is a link of this interview for you. v-s.mobi/inside-the-actors-studio-june-10-2001-guest-robin-williams-1:34:09 I searched a long time for it until I found it on a russian internet page. The other one that was on the internet they did propably remove because of copyright reasons. I guess to make money with selling this on DVD. This to me personally is the best interview that I know of robin. You will hardly find another video where you feel closer to this genius and generous man that made the whole world laugh and cry at the same time whilst reminding us that we're all just humans. This is my favourite interview with him.

@@mbr7156 Right. Despite the boisterous mayhem of his stage act he was, apparently, a very sensitive caring sort of guy. As you may know, he raised tens of millions for homeless people with Billy Crystal and Whoopsie Goldberg. Most truly brilliant, creative comedians think very deeply about life, people and the world in general. That's what they do.Like great writers, they hold up a mirror and make us aware of things that we,'ve never considered....or they get us to look at things that we are aware of in a different way. Unfortunately, severe depression is very common amongst creative people. Robin had a fairly rare eye colour. Only about 8 percent of people worldwide have it. Alot of us, like Robin and yours truly have Scottish and / or Irish parentage or family origins. His dad certainly had Irish family connections. His mother, Laurie McLaurin would have to be of Scottish ancestry. The further north you go in Scotland and Scandinavia, the paler the eyes get due to the amount of darkness that prevails for much of the year. You can find photos of his parents via Google...Robert Fitzgerald Williams and Laurie McLaurin
