Oh my you had me cracking up! It's called a widow's walk & yes sailor's wives would walk it looking for their husband's ship to come in which often didn't, hence the name. A widow's peak is the hairline on the forehead when it points down in the middle & why it's called that I don't know!! What a nice family vacay!

Lovely home! I think the open area on top of homes is actually called Widows Walk not widows peak. Widows peak refers to hairline and Widows walk was area where the ladies walked, watched and prayed for the safe return of spouse. Also built frequently along the fishing areas of the ocean.

The house is beautiful! Girl, it must have something to do with Murray surname. When my husband Sonny Murray was living, he would find something that needed fixing just about wherever we went and would fix it. Those Cherokee Purples are beautiful!

🌞Thank you,, Amy, for the tour of your vacation beach house. Everything looks so nice. I wouldn’t worry about everything being in its place at all times. That takes all the fun out of being on vacation. Right? If each rooms occupants pack up their own stuff, it won’t be so hard. The big kids can double check for soda cans and other things that need to be thrown out. It’s a long ride home so please don’t wear yourself out before you make that long trip. @@donnabrewer5016 yes it is fort morgan. We rent a home so we don't have too many people in the beach. Condos and hotels means lots of people. I love people but I don't like fighting for a, place to sit on the beaxh😄

Amy, don’t apologize for the condition of the rooms while on vacation! Our rooms look just like that when we go. Our family is big and when we all go together our rental looks just like that with packages of food on the counter. So that everyone has access. We don’t want to go home with all that food. We want the kids to eat it up! This rental of yalls is beautiful! Plenty of room! Nice to have a bathroom for each room! It’s so inconvenient to run back and forth looking for a toilet and shower! Better to have one for each room! I know y’all had a wonderful time! My husband died of brain cancer four years ago and we haven’t all been together like this since his death. Maybe one day we will do this again. It’s hard when you lose the patriarch. But he will always remain in our hearts. Were y’all in Florida or Alabama? Thanks for sharing the house with us. I may want to get the info about the house in case we want to rent it for our summer vacation.

Thanks for the grand tour of that grand home. Oh my goodness, that is gorgeous. Totally out of my league, 😂, but gorgeous. Seems like it needed more outdoor furnishings though. For a house that accommodates so many, folks kinda have to be on different deck and balcony areas to have comfortable seating. I like rocking chairs on a deck overlooking the ocean myself. Anyway, it's really pretty and I know y'all have enjoyed the change of pace. Safe travels 🙏 to everyone getting back to their homes. 💜 💜 💜

Caution: Many rentals don't allow Grilling due to FIRE DANGER. WIND whipes the flames and will cause fire damage.

Do you have to clean the house before you leave or do you pay a certain amount and the owners have a cleaning crew?

@@maryalsdurf9859 the owners have a cleaning crew. All we had, to do is empty all, the garbages. Load the dishwasher and start it. Things like that. Nothing terrible.

@@CindyMobley It has been years...early 90's, when we went to Dauphin Island. We ate at a seafood restaurant there. It was very good. Then sometime later, I heard a hurricane hit & the news said, wiped out or just about wiped out Dauphin Island. I sure hope it didn't.

@@SeekChrist82 most storms do some damage on the island but the worst was Fredrick in 1979, it changed thd island, Mobile got it to, it came up Mobile bay! It took the bridge out and that’s when they built the new big bridge
