So to have a go-to movie when you're not having a good day isn't exactly taboo. At least, for me it isn't. It differs from each person, ya' know? It might be different for you. Maybe you like a good book or some hot tea/cocoa after a bad day? Relaxing and having something to help you feel good isn't exactly a bad thing. And also, having a few suckish days doesn't usually entail a suckish life, ya' know? X3 Have a nice day! (Or evening. Depends on which side of the date line you're on X3)

Ka Boom I'd like to discuss Manos: Hands of Fate for a moment. Mr. Boom, it seems you have the film all wrong! I can honestly tell you that MHoF currently holds the number four spot on my Honest Top Five Films I Have Ever Scene List (I spell "seen" as "scene" because it's a film pun, you see). Benicio Del Toro was awesome as the Hand Man, and I have never cried at a lovemaking scene the way I did when he and the witch FINALLY copulated in the Fate Chamber! It's definitely not Peter Jackson's most "accessible" movie, but the unforgettable characters, spooky soundtrack, and Chris Tucker as the hilarious Father Paddy will always give Manos: Hands of Fate a special place in my heart. Two "manos" WAY UP!!

The film balances it's great slapstick humour, satire on history whilst paying homage to the silent era of film, with the likes of Charlie Chaplin, throughout it's narrative. Truly great performances from all the cast, Ralph Fiennes is on fine form slick and quick witted. 5* from me thumbs up!

I was forced to watch Fantastic Mr. Fox with my little sister, and I have to say, I have never been more glad of a forced viewing. It was one of the most refreshing, happiest, heart-warming movies I have seen in a long time. I then watched Moonrise Kingdom - again with some doubt - because I thought it would be much less entertaining than the brilliant stop-motion movie, but was, again, to my pleasant surprise, proven very wrong. Wes Anderson's quirky style refreshingly paints a beautiful adventure story that is unlike any other film I have ever seen before. As a Wes Anderson fan, I am glad he is doing so well. He has a long and great future ahead of him. I can't wait for this one!

I've now watched it over a dozen times and enjoy it more and more every time. Wes Anderson has an amazing talent of creating beautiful characters who you can't help but fall in love with. I can't say it's an especially good movie by many standards, but that's not the point. It's mixed critical reception mirrors Steve's struggles, and just like the characters, it's sad and heartwarming at the same time. It's always nice to hear of people who feel the same.

***** Hey dude, I think OP was bein' pretty pompous too, but people don't really react well to cursin' an' insults. Although admittedly my attempt to start a conversation and dissuade him might have been too subtle. Also if he were truly a pedant wouldn't he put a space behind his commas? (Speaking as a true pedant here (oh wow I did it again (yes, I know these are all sentence fragments))).

It’s been a long long time since I’ve liked a movie this much, it was a refreshing start for me. I was so thrilled into this movie, so many great actors and the phases were spot on. The shots of the film the colours the quotes the characters the comedy and the comfort in this movie. Genius who wrote the book and made the movie. I would definitely recommend this movie to all of my friends.

I've seen this film at least 50+ times now. Some things I've noticed that I love: Zero and the elevator bell hop's expressions while Gustav recites the poem. When deputy covax drops the stack of papers on the table one flies off and lands near the edge. When Mr. Gustav and Zero form a 'sacred blood pact' and Gustav hands the paper over to Zero, Zero fumbles with the paper for a moment and catches it. The clock in the kitchen of Mendle's syncs to the background music when they first introduce Agatha. I love how 'our mutual friends predecessor' steps back into the frame when he is mentioned. 'The author', Jude Law's character, is uninterested in the 'parenthetical domestic drama' of a man chocking to death. Inspector Hankel seems slightly uncomfortable when Gustav tells him regarding his mother "I adore her, send my love." When Gustav kisses the corpse of Madam D, Zero and Plateild exchange glances. Gustav expressing rage after saying 'the one with the clubfoot?' lots more i cant remember, but this film is filled to the brim with subtle humor and light touches that add to a really wonderful experience

*Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Darjeeling Limited, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Moonrise Kingdom, The Grand Budapest Hotel.* Just some of the movies that the "Academy Awards Society" deemed not good enough for Mr. Anderson to warrant an Oscar. In my lifetime (whatever is left of it), if Wes Anderson doesn't win an Oscar for Best Director as well as Best Movie, it will be the greatest tragedy for art as a whole. *P.S: For those who can understand it, Wes Anderson is the Hollywood equivalent of Steven Wilson.*
