Yes, exactly! That's why I added his last line with "you can lose a lot of soldiers, but still win the game". The governor may have lost his life, but he had a solid victory on the prison; he completely broke rick and the group, leaving them forever scarred.

Kekker I’ve thought that for yrs. The Gov is the ultimate reason why good friendships and tragedies happened. I imagine if they all lived and Hershel and Michonne weren’t captured then they could have made the prison work for life and then Abraham and Eugene and Rosita would have come and asked for some ppl to go to DC w/ them but the Gov drove them out to Terminus. Glenn and Tara met Abe and his crew. Beth got taken by the cops at Grady memorial and then died and then after being on the road Rick and the Survivors made it to Alexandria and lived in some peace for some time then the wolves came and then Negan when he ultimately murdered Abe and Glenn and then the war and now the whisperers so in the end like you said the Gov won in the end even in death.

Gold3n Fight3r everything that’s happened after the prison outbreak has been caused by the governor he technically killed Glenn and Abraham if he didn’t attack the prison the group wouldn’t never lost Glenn Abraham bob ect but who knows maybe a horde wouldn’t caught up with them eventually

@Doomguy I also think Gareth was more than Governor and Negan as Negan needed people and Governor was mostly revenge driven to kill the Prison people, but Gareth and the Terminus freaks didn't care about anyone and they would brutally kill Elders and children, judging by the room filled with loot such as medals of honor and plush toys.

The fact that he went on that whole killing tirade makes me feel like he was destined to anyways, regardless of the loss of his daughter or not. its just who he is

Two sides of the same coin. He became a killer and lost his way of who he was. As Tyrese once put it. “It’s only getting worse out there. The dead are everywhere..and it’s only making the living…less like the living.” TWD has many moments of dark poetry like that-but the governor as a character is its embodiment of it

The Governor is still the greatest villain in both versions of TWD. It was a huge mistake killing him off when they did. Personally I would have ignored the prison battle, do a spinoff of him and Tara's family surviving for three seasons, have The Governor return during All Out War and make a truce with Rick. Just imagine The Governor's encounters with Negan and Alpha

Thanks a lot! In my opinion the group was most entertaining to watch in seasons 3-6, with Hershel, Glenn, Merle, Tyreese and all the others. I love to go back to those seasons and rewatch some episodes every once in a while

@@anthonyspitery6332 he only does that stuff when he’s in a position of power this is shown when he meets tara’s family and he just wants to help them to try and do some good he even eats dog or cat food instead of normal food to punish himself but when morales started saying that he wasn’t sure that he could keep the place safe he tried to leave because the Governor felt he had to be in a position of power for it to be safe he even said while killing morales that he “doesn’t want it” referring to when morales said that he might “share the power”and when pete offered him to help with leading and when he saw pete try to save the old man that put doubt in his mid the he tried to leave but then the road was blocked and then he felt if he couldn’t escape it he had to make it happen to keep Megan safe at least, The Governor is a bad person but Brian/ Philip isn’t. Also in the first war with Rick he was doing it out of revenge for his daughter who he thought might still be there but like he said himself “he just lost it”.

Ya know, even though Rick had like, 8 more seasons than the Governor, the Governor still is responsible for more deaths. Rick: 42 Governor: 43 That just shows how much of a killer the Governor was back then, cause nobody even was responsible for 20 deaths at the time and here was the Governor doubling that, still a great amount today.

Alpha’s Kill Count: 19 The Governor’s Kill Count: 43 Negan is far ahead of them and is responsible for 172 deaths. Check the Walking Dead Wiki. Remember those 130 Junkyard people that were killed by the saviors? Negan and Simon are responsible for those deaths. Even without those 130 deaths, Negan is still at 42 kills. But oh wait, of course YOU would think The Governor is the best at anything. It’s in your name!

At the start he was a good man but he was weak and he didn't adapt, causing Penny's tragic death and that devastated him it caused a mental breakdown he went into denial. He never wanted to become a bad guy he was once as kind as Hershel but he was willing to sacrifice his morality if it would save his daughter, Philip tries to resist doing this again in S4 but history inevitably repeats itself.

This shows how the apocalypse truly can break you

Liam Hawksworth I mean Negan pretty much beats the gov at everything. He's smarter, a better leader, more charismatic, hotter, and pretty much everything else. That being said, I'd much rather be in a room with Negan than the governor, the governor was way more intimidating.

Through thick and thin, thanks to the Governor, Terminus cannibalized Bob. Thanks to the Governor, Tyreese was bitten and was one of his last visions. Thanks to the Governor, Negan cracked Abraham and Glenn's skulls. Thanks to the Governor, Negan broke Rick Grimes, which is what he wanted the entire time. Also that parallel of Penny compared to Meghan truly shows how Philip changed throughout. Real nice edit, Kekker! Here's to 100K!

Best bad guy ever in the walking dead

The governor was an excellent villain, at least in my opinion. Start of with an excellent actor, he knew how to portray hate in such an excellent manner. I loved the deep character development over the 2 seasons, from a guy that tried convince himself he’s a savior, he’s right, and for a while he did, he was enjoying his life. When rick and the prison came in, his true self that he struggled to keep within, that evil in him came out, and it came out strong when he shot down his people. Season 4 is his attempt at doing that again, but again it goes wrong and he goes batshit crazy. Lastly, “the pulse” was amazing, made nearly all his scenes more intense. Negan is more enjoyable to watch, and he is a solid villain but sadly his war was executed poorly, so I’d personally say the governor had a better overall villainous arc.

I really liked it. The governor was a very badass person, and you, my friend, are still making great videos. My regards

He was just a broken man driven to the brink. He did the necessary evils to protect his dead daughter. If Michonne didn’t kill his girl all of that would’ve been avoided
